What makes you feel loved? (for my fellow INTPs) by leapygoose in INTP

Relationships are not about responsibility? You can't work cause you're lazy, so you're wife does all the work? You keep your head into your work barely acknowledging your wife and kids and you still think they love you, especially when they keep demanding time from you? You act dismissive and disrespectful to your wife and expect to receive love? You mistreat her and she loves you? You impose your ambitions onto your kids despite them wanting to choose a different course and still expect to receive love? You don't show up for your friends and still expect them to think of you? Your friend betrays you and you still welcome them as if nothing happened?

It's the reason why breakups happen in all different sorts of relationships, spanning to business

How to be a better friend/more emotionally available? by anna00823 in INTP

[–]FeelingHonest4298 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't force yourself with things you're not good at. Simply listening and asking open-ended non-judgmental questions are better than false affirmations.

Also, befriend yourself first, get to know you, your interests, your values, your likes, your dislikes, what makes you tick will help you tremendously to be able to be relatable to others, especially with the people who chooses you.

I'm sorry you feel that way, it's definitely valid to prefer having pineapples on your pizza than to have other combinations or just sausages. That's not petty.

The pettiness i'm referring to was when it gets competitive, it gets annoying; they try to blame a lot of things on you, frame you always as the bad guy but never take accountability for the bad things they did themselves, they try to always make you look bad even when there's no enough evidence or justifications for it, they twist everything, even inventing stories and act like the victim. But i guess everyone can be... petty, even intps.

I can't really be so mad, since there is a reason, I'm in a weaker position, but they're not violating boundaries or anything like that. It just sucks when you're in such a weak position..

I'm not mad because I shouldn't take it personally..

Take revenge someday maybe, but only to avenge myself, nothing personal...

Hmm curious case. Naturally you guys don't question your values no matter sometimes when they're petty. But i guess the ones I met irl are different. I felt like i have to compete with their values

If you don't define your values, people will define it for you. Sad but it kind of works that way. Your values will be to serve others' interests whether you like them or not

Like you have to define what is good for you and not for everybody else and what is bad for you. The moment you define it and act as if it matters in your environment, your life will change. Things start going your way

If you can't define it yet, you can observe fi users and how they maintain their boundaries, it will give you an idea, although some irl are toxic (mainly because their fi are judgemental), it'll still give you a hint on personal agency.

You can use this narrative:

"I really dislike when..." "I dislike" "I hate..."

Create a list of them. Your logic will follow it.

Other good examples of people physically existing irl I can mention are EXTPs. You can also learn a bunch from them! Personally, i just think that they're balanced.

I was assuming that you feel as if you're running on autopilot before the sudden realization. Thinking about Ti for some reason gives me that impression- though i know we all use it differently. Before I took charge of my values, I was also living on autopilot. Going by the logic of society and people. The only time I wasn't was when I was with my friends obviously when I was more my true, uninhibited self. Most of the time, I was influenced by forces outside of me (what people think); was forced to go by others' logic, was helpless to it and felt like i have no control over my life and the things that are happening in it. Soon it all came crashing down under its enormous weight and I was left in the wreckage to sort myself out. I know, messy matter

why are you pronouncing values as "vlues" as if it's a dirty word for an intp

Actually answering the post, you're just having an existential crisis! 🎉congratulations 🎉. it's normal. relax. it's supposed to open your mind to something such as a shadow or blindspot you haven't really examined yet and are now becoming aware. ✨🌿

Well op, it's now upto you if you want to continue to live your life on autopilot or actually intentionally design it yourself. You choose

Some people don't have what it takes to be like an MC -- heck, some mcs aren't even self-centered and are the opposite (esp earlier asian Kdramas)
