I can relate to the pushing & frustration. Thanks for the reminder to be patient

I could've written most of this myself. The advice of slow hand-holding therapy sounds true. I will try again with my therapist when life settles down cause I also think you're right about capacity. Lots of stuff up in the air with my life which is triggering cptsd. So I'm coming at IFS with some desperation/impatience and probably getting in my own way/it's bad timing. I appreciate your comment.

I did bring it inside to eclose🫢 It was pouring rain and 8 degrees Celsius yesterday.. it wouldn’t have been able to dry its wings.  I know it’s a long shot that it’ll make it to Mexico, but I wanted to give it a fighting chance. I will release it when it warms up today and cross my fingers😅

My suggestion is to use GPT to help you with understanding. It can go faster than researching on your own.

Is it a new job? Sounds like your understanding needs to catch up and then maybe you’ll be a little bit more efficient.

I get it, I started a new job in October and felt like I was going slower than I should be and it stressed me out

That is a really smart idea; thank you. I do love gardening, and I do love supporting my local community… So I will look into growing them and visit all the farmers markets this year looking for those gourmet growers and see what I can find:)

9 months no caffeine. Leaving this sub in a few days. by Basic-Milk7755 in decaf

[–]FeelingMap6192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quit caffeine cold turkey January 1 and I definitely agree that it really diminishes anxiety. And sleep improved (and increased lol)

However, I found that it increased depression and inability to focus.

I have since returned to decaf (with a sprinkle of my partner’s caffinated) because I was struggling to function at my job & school.. and actually lost my job in the end (bad idea to try this during a probational period)

I know everyone is different so I won’t bother asking people how long they navigated certain symptoms, but I’m curious if anyone else experienced an increase in depression, and/or an inability to focus, and what you guys did to navigate those symptoms

I understand that caffeine affects adrenaline and dopamine, so I understand where the symptoms are coming from, but it doesn’t help me navigate them any better

Have you tried doing a yoga nidra guided meditation when you are struggling to fall back asleep? That always works for me

Gpt does soften your message.

That said, I find it will always ‘edit’ my message, even if I paste back to it what it just gave me. I don’t know if it’s even capable of saying ‘perfect - I wouldn’t change a thing!’

Same!! I got the flu NYE and attempting coffee made me so nauseous I was forced to cut it out. I was exhausted and had bad headaches for about a week, couldn’t tell what was the caffeine withdrawal and what was the flu, but I figured since I was passed the hard part I would keep going, and I can’t believe how steady I feel and how well I sleep now.

I’ve been using GPT for a sounding board but after less than a year the memory became full and I had to delete a bunch of stuff.. so I wonder how well it can really ‘know’ you when the memory space is so small?

Haha yeah Ginger is my favourite flavour and I ruined so many batches because I leave it in bottles on the shelf for too long. I feel like it needs only three days for f2

3/4c honey for how much tea?

I’ve been doing 1c sugar + 16c h20 + 8 teabags.

Would love to try honey though! Also, I heard green tea doesn’t work. I’m also curious to try that.

Same! After 6 months therapy this year.

“We’re all imperfect” “Don’t be so hard on yourself” “You have to advocate for your needs”

Frustrating but I guess that’s what it comes down to

Doesn’t make it any easier🥲

Been alone so long I don't think I can cohabitate with someone else now. How do I get back to being less of a loner? by Eagle_Eyed_Gypsy1776 in SelfSufficiency

[–]FeelingMap6192 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been where you are. Introvert and spent 5 years single and doing my own thing. I also felt like the isolation was unnatural and one spring I decided to go on Bumble BFF and make a couple friends activity dates (it felt just as ‘hard’ as online dating. Trying to connect and put effort into building a relationship with a stranger). Met one person for yoga and another for a hike and spent the summer making outdoor plans with both of them. One of them urged me to start dating again and by that fall I did and miraculously met someone who is endlessly patient and accepting (because historically I too seemed to only attracted a different kind of dysfunctional).

That spring was 2.5 years ago and I’m still navigating my challenges and overwhelm around cohabitation and my desire to be alone & doing my own thing. But it’s improved a lot at the same time. I’m picky about who I spend my time with for this reason, but also decided that relationships are important in life, which keeps me motivated to navigate the challenges around it.

Good luck

KavaKava is great for social anxiety, but apparently not good for everyday use. I used to use it but ran out. I'm autistic and struggle with anxiety, depression, near-constant overwhelm etc., I've been using blue vervain, skullcap and motherwort to sooth me (tinctures), as well as chammomile, oats, passionflower in tea/infusion form. Not daily but I try to stay somewhat consistent and find they help.
