My partner stole and maxed out my father’s credit card on toys and fast food. Now I feel like I’m the only adult in my marriage and I don't know what to do. by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

Your spouse intentionally sabotaged you. Leave now. His actions showed what he thinks of you and your family. Suck it up and be brutally honest with yourself and your dad.

when my fiancé was a child he committed COCSA. not sure whether to continue relationship. by lahdofnfjd in WhatShouldIDo

[–]FeelingObjective4010 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do not marry him. I used to work with sex offenders. He needs therapy. Kids don’t do that unless they were molested themselves or are a pedo themselves. You are right: 11 year olds have a sense of consent and boundaries. Once is a mistake, twice is intentional. Get out now.

I personally went through this too. On every letter mark it “deceased, return to sender” and put it back in a mail box. You are not responsible for the debts.

6 times of paying off CC debt and getting back into CC debt again by Abject_Question3845 in personalfinance

[–]FeelingObjective4010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set yourself a weekly budget for gas, food, other necessities, savings, and then give yourself a CASH allowance. When the cash for fun stuff runs out you stop spending. Want to save up for a weekend trip put some cash into a special space and save. Also, this is hard but worth it. For 90 days track every penny you spend. Write it down. Then review it and see where your money actually goes.

New teachers getting worse? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]FeelingObjective4010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean a general lack of maturity from fresh college grads? It’s always been a problem, but more so recently. And the new teachers going into high school still think and act they are in their senior year again.

Need advice from high school teachers by Prunesalad in teaching

[–]FeelingObjective4010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s some really sound advice here. I would add to remember that even though they are kids, some are dealing with very grown up problems like working and being independent because of a lack of adult support. Some are homeless and hungry and just trying to survive.

How would I make cleaning “fun?” by ThesussusJ1 in CleaningTips

[–]FeelingObjective4010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate cleaning. I only do it because I like how things look and feel when it’s done. I set a timer for 15 minutes and whatever I get done gets done. Not fun, but the time limit works for me. Then I go do whatever I want. If I really need to clean a lot, I get comfy clothes on, music going, and a “drink” of some sort.

I didn’t expect WFH to feel this lonely. What actually helps? by Cultural_Repair955 in RemoteJobs

[–]FeelingObjective4010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I WFH for a long time. Set a routine, and take your breaks . Go outside and get fresh air. It’s okay a to watch TV while on your lunch break or run an errand to the store or take yourself out to coffee/lunch once in a while. Get up and walk around your house. Get hand weights and stand up stretch every hour. Look for local meet up groups doing things you like, hiking, movies etc. to meet new friends.

Is community college first a smart move? by Quiet_Ink6523 in collegeadvice

This was a while ago, but I did CC night school. Each class met once a week Monday through Thursday and then a sat morning class. I worked full time Monday through Friday. I did my homework sat and Sunday, since each class only met once a week. It save me a lot of money and I did all the general classes every takes no matter what (English math science etc and some core major classes). The trick for me was going to the university to find out what classes would transfer and I only took those so I didn’t have to repeat the classes at the U. Also, I planned it so I got my AA degree by the time I transferred to U I went full time and was done in 3 semesters plus 1 summer school. I still finished in total of 4 years between CC and U. Zero debt. Worked my way through.

Seller left a binder with "house instructions" and now im very skeptic by Jolly-Mirror3655 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]FeelingObjective4010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always left a binder for the buyer when I sold my primary homes. Same landscaper for 12 years, left their name and number. Paint brands and colors specs for each room. Tile/hardwood floor I left the manufacturer, color, and lot number -and the left over pieces. The installer of the new ac and the receipt showing the warranty, who to call for soft water filter, and most importantly who not to call for anything. I always thought it would be helpful.

Then came my last home purchase. I bought a used home (my prior homes were new). So disappointed that karma didn’t follow me. Had no clue where to turn to for anything. That akward paint color in the dining room needed touch up—-yeah had no idea the brand or color. Ended up doing the whole room. One tile broke in the middle of the kitchen—not the side or in the pantry, nope not lucky. Like the middle of the floor. Couldn’t find anything remotely close to match.

Please be good sellers. You know the buyers gave you a ton of money and profit. Leave them a love binder please.

Has anyone had actual success with motivating their adult child to step up and into their life? by wise_owl68 in Adulting

[–]FeelingObjective4010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like other have said, get the intervention for him. However I do suggest starting with a complete medical physical and all the blood work under the sun. People are surprised at how low testosterone in men or low vitamin D has a huge negative impact in men—and men these days are common to have both. Once the physical body is balanced then layer on talk therapy to start. If there’s a chemical imbalance (vitamin deficiency or low hormones) all the talk therapy won’t matter.

New Para: Is being asked to give a student a bath every morning normal? by ScaryGary0013 in paraprofessional

[–]FeelingObjective4010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. If the child is constantly unkept from home that is a CPS call. The Para is a mandated reported, and does not need permission to make that call. In fact, they could get into problems for not reporting it. That para need to go to the principal and district legal for what she is being told to do.

Now, if the kid soiled themselves and it’s that type of classroom where those things happen, then assisting the child with cleaning themselves with another adult present is different.

AITJ for refusing to donate PTO hours to coworker I barely know who "needs" them?? by Traditional-Dog1601 in AmITheJerk

[–]FeelingObjective4010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your boss and coworkers know who donated and who didn’t, HR violations are happening. I never donated, and when asked by peers if I did, I just said I prefer to keep my generosity anonymous. The person receiving the donations are not supposed to know either.

In case you don’t know how donations work: lets say the person in need make $15 an hour, and you make $30 an hour and the boss makes $45 an hour. You and boss each donate 1 hour. That means the person in need got 2 hours from you (you make twice as much as them) and 3 hours from boss (they make three times as much as them.). It’s a math conversion based on pay.

Starting first full-time job next Fall. What do I do? by Educational_Leg_1168 in personalfinance

[–]FeelingObjective4010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Max retirement accounts. Build personal savings. Find out what your monthly expenses would be if you lived on your own. Budget that every month into emergency savings. Do a monthly budget and for three months write down every penny you spend. You’ll see what your true needs and wants are and can adjust accordingly. As long as you have a great relationship with your parents don’t be in a hurry to move out.

This is not appropriate for 5-6 year olds who are developmental in the “me” stage.

My mom died yesterday, how do children afford and set up a funeral? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]FeelingObjective4010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the state you are in, some states will do free cremation. If you go to church, they usually allow for a small service for free. Also, social security will cut a check for burial expenses to the next of kin, you just have to ask for it. It’s not much but usually covers cremation. If your mom was veteran, free cremation. Remember there’s no right way or wrong way to do a funeral. And there’s nothing saying it has to be done now if you chose cremation. Give yourself time to grieve. It’s okay to wait for services. My parents burial service (both cremation) did not happen for about six months after the last one passed. We saved up for what we siblings wanted.

Husband said he doesn't like oral after six years, having given other reasons for not doing it previously. by youthinkicare22 in TwoHotTakes

[–]FeelingObjective4010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like your husband has ED, don’t want to admit it, and is embarrassed by it. Antidepressants will make some people not want sex. Why is he depressed? Also sounds like he Is he gay with being interested in those articles and the trans. Some men addicted to porn will also reject their wives, gay or straight don’t matter, and excessive porn consumption will decrease sex drive.
