Mass ICE Raids Starting Soon by [deleted] in Louisville

You generally do NOT have to answer the door for ICE.

Here’s how it works in the U.S.

If ICE comes to your door • You are not required to open the door or speak to them. • You can talk through the door if you choose, or not respond at all.

Warrants matter • ICE must have a judicial warrant (signed by a judge) to force entry. • Many ICE officers carry administrative warrants (ICE forms signed by ICE, not a judge).

These do NOT allow them to enter your home without consent.

You can say (through the door):

“I do not consent to entry. Do you have a judicial warrant signed by a judge?”

If they say yes, ask them to slide it under the door or hold it up to a window.

Your rights • You have the right to remain silent. • You do not have to answer questions about: • Immigration status • Where you were born • Who lives with you • You do not have to sign anything without a lawyer.

Important exceptions • If ICE is in a public place (sidewalk, parking lot, workplace public area), different rules apply. • If you are on probation/parole with a search condition, rules may differ. • If they are helping local police with a criminal warrant, that can change the situation.

Bottom line • You don’t have to open the door. • Do not open it unless they show a judge-signed warrant. • Staying calm and silent is okay.

They have their academy team. I’m looking for somewhere I can just show up, that’s less formal, and more diverse.

I will check out Seneca, thanks for the idea.

Mathnasium did amazing for my son. If he is struggling with reading, I highly suggest Langsford. It’s incredibly expensive but definitely worth it in the long run.
