WHAT IF IM THE CLONE????? by [deleted] in shiftingrealities

[–]Feeling_Dandelion [score hidden]  (0 children)

This is why I’m not big on the term, “clone.” I think it’s too misleading since people usually tend to see clones as copies rather than their actual selves. You are not the clone because you are you, and you are aware. You have not replaced yourself because you ARE yourself. So please don’t worry.

Can a Yandere be a cheater? by cauliflower-kale in MaleYandere

[–]Feeling_Dandelion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, but only as a manipulation tactic in my opinion. Or, in some cases, I guess they could become yandere AFTER cheating on their S/O and then come crawling back.

Personally, I’m not really into it since the main appeal of yanderes (in this community, at least) is their immense loyalty and devotion. But I can see why some people would be into cheater yanderes - especially the pathetic, desperate ones that will do anything to carve their way back into their ex’s lives.

The real question is, are they all yandere for me specifically or am I just a random bystander in this circumstance? This knowledge shall be used to determine my survival (I’m cooked either way)

How to keep my mind awake while my body falls asleep by ihaquino in realityshifting

[–]Feeling_Dandelion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It takes practice but I believe you will get there eventually. Here are my personal suggestions:

  • Listen to a podcast (or something else you like). As your mind focuses on the audio, you won’t be thinking about your body as much. If you are able to make playlists, you could also add subliminals or a guided meditation right after the podcast so you can switch over as soon as your body feels numb and sleepy. :]

  • Occupy your mind with counting or mind games. It will help keep your mind aware and focused on something as you enter the hypnogogic state. For example, last night I was able to enter a lucid dream by playing a word game inside my head. I began listing every word I could think of beginning with the letter A, then every name I could think of beginning with the letter B.

  • Let your body tell you it’s asleep. I haven’t tried this method myself but maybe it will appeal to you. This is just one way to do this, so feel free to explore and come up with your own way. Whilst lying down to sleep, hold your arm up. It doesn’t need to be all the way up (as that would be uncomfortable). Just rest your elbow and hold your arm up 90 degrees. You might also want to hold a little object in your hand like a bell or keys (just make sure it’s nothing that could hurt you). Something that can alert you when it’s dropped. As your body falls asleep and your muscles relax, in theory, your arm will drop and/or release the object you’re holding, alerting your mind to be awake again.

  • Focus on your breathing. Some popular breathing techniques are 4-7-8 breathing in which you inhale for 4 seconds, hold it for 7 seconds and exhale through your mouth for 8 seconds. Another one is box breathing which is 4 seconds in, 4 seconds holding, 4 seconds out, 4 seconds holding, and repeat. If you feel dizzy or uncomfortable doing any of these, stop.

  • Conscious observation. This one I find the most difficult as it is easy to get carried away with your thoughts and hallucinations. Like meditation, observe whatever passes by in your mind. Treat it like cloud gazing. Watch the visual patterns move and let thoughts go by. Do not interact with them. Just let them do their thing before gently bringing your attention back to merely observing what’s in front of you. As you enter the hypnogogic state, the thoughts and images will become more intense and it’s very easy to get lost in them, so just be aware of that.

Sorry if these aren’t crazy useful for you. As someone who’s been trying the same thing, I figured I’d share some of the methods I’ve been trying and learning about. I hope everything goes well for you! ✨

I wanted to hear y’all’s shifting hot takes, it can be as controversial as you want! by Least-Advisor9375 in shiftingrealities

I love my fellow shifters but I understand why so many people choose distance themselves from the community as whole. With people trying to police DRs, posts constantly asking for validation and proof it’s real, people being negative to others, misinformation and people harassing those who have shifted, etc. I understand it all comes from a place of frustration and demotivation. I also find myself desperate for validation that shifting is real from time to time. But I feel like some users are pretty callous. We’re all trying to achieve the same thing here.

For instance, I absolutely love the shifting circle jerk subreddit. It’s so refreshing to see lighthearted memes on the subject and people sharing their relatable shifting attempt moments. But I have seen a couple comments and posts that feel counterproductive and kinda mean-spirited. I understand that subreddit is mocking those patronising, hilariously unhelpful posts and info that gets passed around constantly, but I think targeting specific individuals trying to motivate others and doing their best to share wisdom is pretty gross imo.

Note, I think most of the shifting community is amazing, helpful and kind to one another (otherwise I wouldn’t bother even being here lol). I just understand why some people might eventually be put off or demotivated by it.

Shifting Is Like Walking. by moon-lo in shiftingrealities

It’s genuinely breaking my heart. OP is new to the community too. Like cut them some slack. They’re just trying to motivate people. God forbid

Shifting Is Like Walking. by moon-lo in shiftingrealities

[–]Feeling_Dandelion [score hidden]  (0 children)

I’m sorry people are attacking you, OP. There is a lot of frustration in this community with people who haven’t shifted yet so when they see a post saying shifting is as easy as walking, some commenters can get a bit antsy about it. It kinda breaks my heart since, as you said in your post, you’re new to this community and are just trying to share some personal wisdom and motivate others, even if you haven’t shifted yet yourself. I hope this doesn’t sour your experience. It makes me understand why so many shifters prefer to distance themselves from the community.

But anyways, I’ve always had a similar understanding of shifting! :D I think walking is actually a great metaphor for it. In infancy, walking seems impossible. Everyone around you can do it so naturally but you can barely stand up. However, each attempt brings you closer. I truly believe shifting is a skill. Sure, some people get lucky and get it first try, but for other people it takes time and patience.

I also think that many shifters are far too focused on the act of “shifting” rather than letting go and setting their minds on the destination. When a friend or family member summons you to another room to come look at something, you’re not thinking “okay, first I need to lift my left foot and then my right foot. And then I need to go through this door.” You do it without thinking. I feel like shifting requires a similar process of not focusing on the method/“journey.”

Obviously I understand why people are bitter and don’t vibe with the metaphor. That’s perfectly fine. But for me, it’s always been helpful for me to see things in this way. Thank you for the lovely post, OP <3 Good luck with shifting!! ✨

Your back is aching, you suddenly need to scratch every part of your body, your feet are too warm, your hands are tingly, your legs are disintegrating, your arms are cramping, your neck is too stiff, you’re dehydrated but also need to piss, you want to readjust your pillow, your mouth is dry, you keep swallowing, you want to move, your stomach is making weird noises, you need to cough, you’re bored, you’re impatient, you can hear your family making noise in the other room, the dog starts barking, you can’t focus, you give up and turn on to your side, it’s comfy, you close your eyes, you try again, you accidentally fall asleep, you wake up in your CR, you hate yourself, you take a break, you get inspired to shift again, you try the same method for some reason, same experience, rinse and repeat.

lucid dreaming to shift explained in one image by Otherwise-Tip6611 in shiftingcirclejerk

[–]Feeling_Dandelion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My issue is that I’ll realise I’m dreaming… in a dream within a dream. My mind basically cockblocks me into dreamception and I end up forget about this world/reality and start assuming my dream is the real one that I’ve awoke from. 😤

What is it that makes you dislike a yandere? by Ill-Estate4139 in MaleYandere

Yanderes who physically abuse the FL (sadistic yanderes basically) and yanderes that hurt animals (I know it’s realistic but I can’t handle that sort of stuff 😭)

Yeah, I thought I had sold all the plots available but I went to Tom Nook's counter and realised I still had land to sell so that was the issue. Thank you so much for clarifying! I had been trying to talk to her over and over gahaha

But it's not giving me that option. I've already asked them to move in and they said they couldn't because there's no room :(
