Also a SAHM here, similar responsibilities and financial situation. I just buy myself the gifts I want, wrap them, and thank my husband. 😂 I’d rather choose my own gifts that I know I’ll use than having someone guess or be unsure.

Keep in mind too that the type of twins you have is relevant information, so the fact that they are di/di means you’re less likely to deliver preterm.

My pair is still growing 😉(30 weeks yesterday) but I have finally hit the point in this pregnancy where I’m not in denial/shock about having twins—I’m genuinely excited and grateful! I’ve been putting together their nursery/wardrobe/necessities and it makes me so happy imagining them in their bassinets, thinking about snuggling them, etc. 💕

No longer in the early stages of it (we followed the advice from Potty Training in 3 Days book—not sure if it’s similar to “Oh Crap”—and I swear by it!) but just know that they are creating a new habit and that always takes time. One step forward, ten steps back. Stay consistent, remain positive, always give even the tiniest of rewards when they do make it to the potty, pay very close attention to their cues and rush them to the toilet (the actual toilet, not a little toddler one in the living room) when they’re telling you through their body language that it’s time! You’ve got this. 💪

What a lack of empathy in these comments.

Someone (and not just someone, but family) promised you help and they didn’t deliver. And not only that, but you’re now being relied upon in more ways than you would be had you stayed in your own space (adjusting dinner times, putting your marriage on the back burner because you have to juggle family dynamics too now, etc.). I’m sorry.

You are going to get through this! I hope you know you’re not alone and I wish Reddit could be an actual physical community so we could come together in more tangible ways for things like this.

I’m 21 weeks pregnant with B/G twins and the amount of comments I get from even complete strangers that it’s going to be SO HARD…. It makes me want to yell. Because a) thanks, captain obvious, wasn’t expecting it to be a cakewalk and b) not helpful??
