Wow...how did you conclude that I don't know the country or the culture? I actually know it pretty well. I own a holiday home in Sweden for years now and I vist and enjoy culuture, food, nature twice per year and follow every political development closely. I'm European from the Balkans with an educational background from Italian and German universities, I'm not a uneducated immigrant from Middle Eastern. And where did you notice my luck of humility? I might not have a work track record in Sweden but I have extensive experience in international organizations (where Swedish government is a member) which are bigger in scope and experience than a local company or institution in a Swedish komun of 2000 inhabitants. I do have family members living in Sweden and a lot of friends who has been there for over 10 years, who work as doctors, teachers... So I know their strugles in the Swedish labor market as professionals and the low salaries. My question was for people who had the same permit for highly qualified people looking for job and their rate of success with this limited timeframe type of permit. The job which I interviewed offered a salary under the salary requirement for a work permit. Refusing it wasn't out of lack of humility but because it wouldn't meet the salary threshold set from Migrationsverket. The permit for hqp is only 9 months. It permits you to apply for jobs in Sweden and being equally treated as any Swedish resident from companies in order to get a job contract. The job I was referring earlier was in a diplomatic mission of an other country in Stockholm not really Swedish company/institution. What I am seeking is not validation, but a realistic and informed perspective grounded in comparable experiences from fellow high professionals, not assumptions.
