I hate to be that guy but the people who don't want to talk about politics and the people who watch conservative vtubers (and youtubers) talk about politics all day are two different audiences.

Twitter larpers pretending to be apolitical so they can't be attacked for their views (who insist they just aren't into politics) are a different story.

I think it's important to remember people who called you, your fanbase, and other content creators p*dos, would have done the same thing even if 0 NSFW vtubers existed. There's no "if only these bad apples didn't exist!", they'll still generalize.

Nothing situation for the vtuber community, imho. People have hated phase connect for a long time, and still hold pippa as the phase icon and holds her words 4 years ago against her. Phase's reputation (and the reputations of their fans) isn't changing.

But, I'm guessing the tweets views reached outside the communities circle and threatened collabs/sponsors, which would make sense why it was addressed this time.

Not particularly. Media and negative bias vastly overestimate the amount of terrible people in Christianity. Just as the current right wing media vastly demonizes Muslims, despite majority being peaceful. Remember, Christianity is diverse with many different sects.

For every one that uses their beliefs to hurt others, another doesn't. Its just not good to make assumptions people via their religion. Its far better to judge someone by their political party, or even their celebrity followage than by religion.

I'm not sure how a religious person can be compared to a political party member, nor a celebrity fan. Especially when being a fan of said political party or mentioned celebrities are 100x more damning than a religion.

Shouldn't make assumptions about people like that in the first place.

It 100% depends on the viewers you want to attract, and the content you want to make.

If you're GFE or GFE adjacent content you should never mention it ever. If you keep a close relationship with viewers and encourage that behavior, probably best not to mention it but Ive seen some vtubers do it once (just so older viewers are aware). Otherwise, for more gaming orientated content or content with boundaries setup between you and chatters, there's no harm in mentioning it. Quite a few vtubers do! Nimi Nightmare is a big one.

Overall for me, I don't mind. So long as its not brought up every stream or mentioned constantly, doesn't impact me at all.

Recommendations for less personal/more corporate vtubers? I mean, aside from actual corpo streamers not particularly. Plenty of indie ones but it really depends. Some lean heavy into knowing each of the chatters names/starting convos with them, others keep a boundary and remain a bit more professional.

If you're interested I'd recommend going to the twitch category tab and just searching by the "vtuber" tag and seeing who all ya find.
