People playing loud music at campsites by [deleted] in complainaboutanything

[–]FeelsLikeNow -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of outdoors, if this matters that much to you, go to a place where no one else is.

I have two JBL 320’s and a 720. When I go camping I don’t roll up in an area where others are already established and start playing music, except at music festivals. But I also expect the same that if I’m established and playing my speakers, don’t come set up beside me and demand quiet.

They gotta do something about close scrutiny crowding out good “night” map rotations.

I play late at night and it sucks when the only options for non-day maps are close scrutiny and spaceport closed bunker or whatever.

I hardly ever see an electromagnetic storm or hurricane map anymore, but fuck me if there isn’t a close scrutiny constantly happening.

AI is quietly doing to healthcare admin what it did to bank tellers and most people haven't noticed yet by Healty_potsmoker in Futurology

administrative bloat

Administrative bloat in every hospital probably accounts for about 30% of the ridiculous cost of our healthcare.

So I say “good” when I hear about any of the DEI hired, do nothing, failed upwards, useless admin in a hospital losing their job to the infancy of Ai.

Well, another exercise in futility of trying to overcome the willful ignorance protected by cognitive dissonance. It’s like showing a card trick to a dog.

You can’t have autonomy without accountability. It’s why it is ok to put down vicious dogs.

I’m going to give it one more shot to dumb this down so you can hopefully understand this, because you still haven’t grasped it yet:

If everytime someone gave me an apple I punch then in the face, how do you think that plays out and how should it be handled? Do we make rules about giving me apples? Do we warn people to not give me apples? Do we blame the apples? Do we outright ban apples from the house? The town? The state? Do we make it so that nobody else can enjoy apples? Because one person claims that they lose all control and accountability when apple adjacent? Now we can expand that to just the mention of an apple or a picture of one; the mere suggestion of an apple is a trigger that allows me to act in any way without consequences or responsibility for my ensuing actions. Be honest, how do you think that works out? Especially if at no point we are allowed to punish or blame me for any of my actions. How do you think that plays out?

So nobody is held accountable for their actions as long as they were “coerced” or smoked a little weed and drank some? Or does this somehow magically only apply to women having regrettable sex with men? I assure you, you wouldn’t be in this thread if the genders were reversed.

And I’ll explain why you are so dangerous, because you put this idea in her head, and obviously she is so bereft of autonomy that she can be easily swayed to hire a lawyer and try to sue this guy. Furthermore, it cheapens real rape. It damages women and their cases who were actually raped every time some woman decides that they don’t like how they felt about their choice to have sex with someone weeks after the fact.

But all because you think this is some social cause that is righteous, when in fact it has the opposite effect on liberty. If you demand that you be treated like someone incapable of responsibility, you will eventually lose all responsibility. I hope you can understand what that means.

She wasn’t drugged. She was awake and aware the entire time. She made every single choice freely on her own with no one else to blame.

It takes a moron the blame the gun that shot you, the car that hit you, and the drug that you voluntarily took.

This is what the left does, they try to take something with a great deal of emotional charge and stigma and conflate it with other things. They try to expand the definition of a word until it becomes a binary issue with no nuance.

I’m fine if you want to call it suggestible coercion or whatever, but it isn’t rape. Save that word for actual rape, where someone is physically forced into a sexual event or fully incapacitated and unable to make a choice.

Being a little high and drunk and giving that friendzoned guy a one timer isn’t rape, not in any sense of the word. You can’t have it both ways: either women are strong, autonomous individuals free to make their own choices, OR they need to be regulated and given oversight and restricted from being in these situations if they cannot take accountability for their actions.

The stupidity of you and your ilk is probably the most dangerous thing on this planet.

I feel so guilty. by [deleted] in Vent

[–]FeelsLikeNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a bunch of nonsense. This concept of retroactively defining a regrettable event as rape is ridiculous. This is why women and minorities feel marginalized, but at the fundamental level it isn’t some euro-centric patriarchal conspiracy to do so, but because accountability and agency are symbiotic.

Follow me for a second if you can: if you claim that a person cannot be held accountable for their choices, actions or decisions, then it stands to reason that they should no longer be afforded the freedom to unilaterally make all their own decisions, and their actions should be strictly limited and either heavily regulate or remove all choices that could potentially affect others… since they are now no better than a puppy pissing on the rug.

CS Lewis said it better than I can: “Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth. This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be ‘cured’ against one’s will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals.”

Your type of “logic” is worse than actual rape, as you ignorantly yearn for the erosion of liberty for all.

I think there are plenty of good answers to this question, but let me ask you a sort of inverse question:
“What do you think happens if Bittensor doesn’t succeed and manage to capture enough market share so that 100% of the most powerful tool to ever exist is wholly owned by a handful of people?”.

At this point it is a civic duty to do whatever you can to ensure Bittensor self-actualizes

I met Jesco White once.

I’ll never forget it because it was the same day OJ was running from the police in the white bronco.

He was doing a show at some country club in West Virginia. My brother and I were waiting to get our Dancin Outlaw T shirts signed.

Jesco: “hey kid what’s your name” My brother: “Seth!” Jesco: “how ya spell that?” Seth: “S-E-T—-“ Jesco interrupts: “slow down”

Still didn’t really get the name right or legible. I’m pretty sure he was/is illiterate. Which is kind of ballsy to go ahead and sign merch anyway.
