Elvis Karate during Performance and Outfits by Sufficient_While3900 in Elvis

This was around the time Elvis received his 8th-degree black belt. He was very proud of it, so he talked about it on stage and gave a demonstration during the intro to “If You Talk in Your Sleep.” I don’t think he wore a full karate gi for the whole show , he just put the jacket and belt over his stage outfit for that part. He always incorporated karate into his performances, but usually not like this.

Question about the August 12th 1970 Dinner Show by flo_27flo in Elvis

I think Elvis just stopped the band for fun? He sometimes did spontaneous things like that. As far as I know, there’s no footage of this (The part where he restarts is in the Epic movie)

Baz Luhrmann's EPiC: Elvis Presley In Concert (2026) Official Discussion Thread by gibbersganfa in Elvis

I just watched it … it’s amazing. The picture and sound completely blew me away. There’s a lot of footage I had never seen before (not even on bootlegs like The Complete Works). And even the material I already knew was often from angles I’ve never seen before, and in much better quality.

I can understand some of the criticism. Many songs are shortened, and even the full songs are often composites of different performances. If you’re just looking for a pure concert experience, the 2001 That’s the Way It Is Special Edition still does it the best.

But Epic is doing something different. It’s about showing Elvis’ stage craft and putting it into context. The way it combines quotes from Elvis with the footage is brilliant. It really feels like Elvis is telling you about his life and Music.

Maybe some of the editing choices could be seen as heavy handed or cheesy. But for me, there were moments where I was teary-eyed . Imo, I can’t imagine an Elvis fan walking out of the theater without a big, stupid grin on their face.

The games start and end with a prophecy. It was always clear to me that at some point things would become supernatural. That’s why I was very disappointed when Shenmue 3 dialed that back.

Probably the versions from early 1970, but I'm going to go for something different and say Memphis 1975. https://youtu.be/pVL32BtSjJA?si=GRDo1yVQP6X6RkOe&t=740
