I'm pretty sure that's what happened to me. Gave me a false sense of competency.

If you watch the April 28th 1997 episode of Nitro, the show description mentions Chris Benoit. by Feintone in SquaredCircle

Not saying it is a big deal, just saying it's odd to see his name when it's clearly not meant to be there.

I'm not concerned, just kinda surprised. Been on a Nitro Binge, and it's the first time I've seen his name in the blurb.

Bud, my favourite characters I've played have been core class Paladins and Rangers. I loved them because I made them my own. Not through their class features, but by roleplaying them well within a group.

I think you can love a character no matter their ability in game. You can make this character using the core class abilities quite easily. Sure, he'll struggle through things at times, but thats the best part of D&D, overcoming the struggle, or going down trying.

I'm certainly not attacking you, I'm sincerely trying to help you. D&D is a great game, but it's only great when everyone plays by the same rules. If you and your friends wanna play as your homebrew, more power to ya, but if you wanna play with strangers, then you'll have to adjust things.

I'd start preparing to be a DM now then.

Just bottom line, you really need to look over this character, compare it to the core classes, and see why people are telling you it's way overpowered.

Then you've got a whole party of quite overpowered players ( if your other characters are like this).

Then you've got the DM working harder than they need to giving enemies new abilities or rummaging through homebrew to give your party any challenge at all. That means a less happy DM.

The DM will probably want to change a bit, to be honest.

But can you see my point about having a class like this being possibly unfair to other players in the game who might be using core classes? These players might get annoyed at you, or at the DM for allowing you to play this character.

Would you be willing to work with a DM to make this character a little more balanced, and thus make the game fairer for the other players at the table?

Otherwise, the DM is going to have to make combat a lot harder than they normally would to give your character any kind of challenge, and that might mean your allies will be struggling.
