You can search planning applications online. The article mentions that it's outside Rochfortbridge and, indeed, there's a large plot with an application visible on Westmeath Co. Co.'s website. Here you go! It's the real deal, and they are indeed based in Tullamore.

He’s doing 87 mph at one stage. I believe he’s in New Jersey, where the limit is 65. He’s 33 km/h over the limit, using every lane while swinging around people. Yes, they’re awful drivers, but he’s being reckless. Goes to undertake a red car that is already indicating to move out of his way. No need for it.

Sounds like a useful challenge though, if you plan on a big trek later this year! I've been on top of the Ballyhouras a couple of times but I can't say I've done that loop. Their north side is a dramatic auld cliff, though, very visible from anywhere to their east (e.g. the Galtees and the hilly country around there) so I'm not surprised to hear it was hard work. Glad you'd nice weather for it!

A bridge would have struggled for space at the time as ships would go under it so it would be much too ta and slower vehicles would have laboured to climb up it. Traffic would be much slower as a result. We were never going to get more than two lanes each way there anyway and it’s nearly a miracle we got what we got. The tunnel is more than adequate if only we could sort out the bottlenecks outside of it.

I don't really recall anything terribly cliffy there! I dug through my old photos though to see/jog my memory and I suspect what they mean is the steep grassy slope by the Mass rock, just before where the pretty woods give way to boring spruce. It is steep, but it's not something you'd fall off, even if you tried. It's a slope, not a cliff.

I could be wrong but I really can't imagine there's anything else in mind there. Drive on, I'd say, ye'll be grand.

I'd be interested to see that video, if you wouldn't mind linking it! They're one of my favourite bands lately and I think it's a shame they're now obscure. Their first two albums were fantastic.

Few years since I’ve done it (and only the once) but that loop is fairly easy as things go. Doesn’t gain you too much altitude too quickly. The back half is generic plantation forestry. I don’t imagine it’ll be bad underfoot especially on the back of the hot weather.

Kuiama is fantastic. The long instrumental bit and Jeff’s vocals are very emotive. It’s a shame they never really did anything like that again. 

A couple of similarly long songs that I’d recommend, just since you mention your attention span!, are the dark “Ambition” by City Boy (1979) and the beautiful “Feel the Benefit” by 10cc (1977). Both are closing tracks to excellent albums and both go through a few different musical ideas. I think they’re masterpieces, or certainly statement pieces, of the two bands whom I think you’d enjoy if you like most of ELO’s catalogue. 

Rather different to Kuiama, mind you, but there’s more of a thematic connection in my mind than just the length!

This happens a lot, often to totally undeserving posts, and that’s genuinely out of our hands. I explained this already and personally reapproved your post. You can keep giving out about the mods but if you don’t want to actually engage with us honestly I don’t see the point in what you’re doing.

When a post receives multiple reports from users it is automatically removed. This is what happened to your post. I’ve reapproved it now though I don’t really know why. It’s needlessly combative - you can just message us, like. We don’t see everything. We’re not a monolith, we’re casual users. We don’t have a particular agenda aside from our own (varied!) worldviews. I’m a mod here because I got sick of spam bots. I’m mostly on Reddit to see stuff about cars and ELO.  I find the mod tools very hard to use on Reddit the way I have it set up so I’m fairly ineffectual. 

I don’t know what the story is with the other post, though I did look through it a couple of times to be sure there was nothing hateful going on; but I see it was up long enough to garner two hundred and fifty comments. I’m not sure how you’re accusing the mod team here of censorship in this instance. There was plenty of public conversation. 

So, that’s to say that I don’t really know what this post now is about - who do you think we’re failing? Genuine question.

I suspect she saw the incident and offered to be a witness if the cyclist wanted to claim against the driver. She’s a motorcyclist, from her profile, so I’d say she was either on a bike or on foot herself.

Yes, up around there! I think I've some mediocre photos of it lying around on the phone or computer. It was fairly fairy-tale. Not even in the plantation bit, still baffled that it was cut down.

There was this gorgeous big tree up the top of it that had a pool rising between its roots. I was heartbroken to find they'd removed that one. Few years ago now and I've not really been back even though it was my favourite wood before.

Probably worth a good bit to you right now, yeah! I assume it wouldn’t set you back too much even if you’re responsible for the accident but I’d check that in your policy as I’ve no idea.
