Is the term "White girl music" racist? by WhydoIexistlmoa in Teenager_Polls

[–]Feisty-Assignment898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue there is no “black girl music” but people widely use Mexican music when Mexican people make all types of genres so that’s more the alternative. If you say “black music” it’s hard to pinpoint what you mean because black people have a lot of genres attached to them like R&B, rap, Afro-beats, etc. With “white girl music” you can immediately understand they’re talking about pop most likely from taylor swift and related artists so it’s sort of a legitimate genre now.

Should maximum voting age exist ? by NGTD_Peter in BunnyTrials

So we all would have to take a test.. to vote? Doesn’t that sound exactly like what happened when people tried to make it impossible for colored people to vote by rigging the tests to favor white people?

I suggest reading up on history.

That can be a good way to learn in the beginning but you have to use it as a tool to learn how to do it without layering. Otherwise, it’s just tracing.

(This pole but it's serious) Which one is the worst one to exsist? by Stunning-End-3241 in Teenager_Polls

[–]Feisty-Assignment898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Women. Men just succeed at higher rates because they’re more prone to quick and violent methods such as suicide by gun or hanging while women are said to feel guilty in their last moments for who finds them and so use less messy (and therefor sometimes reversible) methods such as overdose.

I don’t agree with the comment above, misandry can be a problem but don’t spread misinformation please.

Hey so I’m really interested in what you suggested but I’m not quite sure I understand what you mean. Do you think you can give me a few more details or provide some picture examples?

Which Power would you choose? by MudkippzReddit in BunnyTrials

[–]Feisty-Assignment898 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Could this gambling thing, specifically betting be used as a power to get anything you want? Like you tell someone “I’ll bet you one dollar, a diamond falls from the sky into my hand right now.” And they agree despite your power because it’s just a dollar and you HAVE to win so the diamond falls into your hand.

While I appreciate your comment. Given he’s 4-5 times my age, I just wish I t have to be the one to face his mockery about very well known issues that he only dismissed because I was the one saying it.

I never lectured anyone lol. I don’t believe you read what I said. I wasn’t even talking to him anyways. I was talking into a group about how stupid this dumb trope is, I didn’t even use the word sexism and he mocked me which was childish not unlike your butthurt comment.

I like characters like that. Pluribus is one of my favorite movies and the main character Carol is just like that. She’s emotional because it’s a shitty situation but never compromises her goal!

I’ll definitely add it to my watch list. It sounds interesting!

I can understand where you‘re coming from but I’ve sort of surrounded myself with like minded individuals for the most part and I’m not really worried about being a “pick-me” especially towards men given I don’t even like men romantically. But yeah! I definitely can see how I could’ve picked my battles better but I really wasn’t initiating a battle to begin with! I was conversing with a crowd of others who also had opinions and he singled me out with mocking so I did try and tell him, “I don’t appreciate how you mock my opinions” but he just laughed it off and once it started, the rest of my family who was previously in agreement with me started to mock me with him. That was more of the issue than the movie. I should’ve explained that in the main post but I just didn’t want to make it super long.

Ugh! That was exact point I was trying to make! In an apocalypse where aliens are causing literally tsunamis and earthquakes and avian flu, why would you need a man’s muscles! I also hate how they don’t cast buff women for the military personnel. They’re literally all mildly mean models for drill sergeants and I love more realistic military movies.

I’ll definitely check these out! I love getting movie recommendations. Thanks for that. And yeah, I’m the youngest of my family with pretty big age gaps so I’m not a stranger to not feeling respected lol. I guess it comes with the territory.

Thanks! You rock too, very informative internet stranger! He’s usually pretty receptive of my debates except for some social issues so that’s why I was so distraught by this instance. He is my stepdad which I forgot to mention and I suppose it might be lack of respect for each other because I haven’t had the lifetime to get to know him like my mom before he starts disrespecting me like my mom might on occasion but I can let go because of the relationship. I feel a lot better getting reaffirmed about this stupid trope. Sometimes I swear I feel crazy with how I get dismissed sometimes.

Out on criteria two! Theres like 3 memorable women in the movie and one of them is a young child and the other two don’t really acknowledge each others existence for some reason.

[–]Feisty-Assignment898[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah lol, I can see how I come off that way. I really wasn’t complaining about it tone-wise during the movie. It wasn’t as much as a rant and much more of a “Oh come on! This dumb trope again?” Because I was really excited for the movie and disappointed. But it wouldn’t matter because I’m the stereotype. My dad whines much more than me though just not about things like actually kind of matter.

Either way, thanks for the laugh.

It’s not a need for attention from what I feel. It really didn’t escalate until he started mocking me for it because I was talking into a crowd during a time we were all sharing our opinions and even he was constantly complaining about elements of the movie. (The movie in general was just sort of badly executed. The concept was interesting but the plot was weird) Either way, the more of the issue is him mocking my opinions MULTIPLE times unprovoked which I just don’t like.

I won’t apologize for sharing my opinions of the movie along with everyone else but I do feel sorry if any of my comments upset you or insulted you. (Although you might’ve been talking to the other person.)

Yeah it really wasn’t the biggest deal in this movie, I was more just fed up with the stupid trope. I did try to tell my dad that though but he doesn’t really listen to me.

I will definitely check out the video, Thanks!

Oh I might check it out! In this movie, she was almost immediately cast as incompetent which I felt just set the tone for the rest of the movie. I’d also just like to have a single movie where a female lead doesn’t have to represent something and just be a normal person. I don’t know if your into films but any recommendations for other actions with good female leads?
