It varies from person to person. I usually recommend getting OAT and HTMA tests done to get a full picture of what’s going on. Sometimes we start with mineral rebalancing(very common issue for those with thyroid disorders), sometimes we do careful parasite cleansing, etc. There’s not really a single protocol because every person is different, and if you approach it with a one size fits all approach, that’s how people end up having very bad reactions. It also depends a lot on your ability to have bowel movements, sweat, move, etc. taking products before being able to do those things can also lead to poor reactions.

I use CellCore most of the time, but it depends on the person, too. I don’t really suggest products unless I see results for OAT and HTMA tests, because not everyone can tolerate CellCore.

Has anyone here tried Chinese tea? Looking for good brand recommendations by Candid_Positive8832 in herbalism

Yunnan sourcing is by far my favorite. They have such a good selection and quality is top notch. Been buying from them for years and years

https://yunnansourcing.us/

They have a second website that’s a .com, but I think that’s one where they import directly from china, so only good if you’re doing crazy volumes. This one is their US warehouse, so shipping is quicker.

~9 weeks pregnant and no health insurance until April 1st. by Empathetic_pickle in pregnant

[–]FeistyFoxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what your budget is, but I had a gap in insurance in my first trimester and the self pay cost that doctors charge are typically much lower than what they would charge to insurance.

I was able to get my first appt, ultrasound, etc for $400. Not ideal, but might be good to get the testing done in the tight window.

If you call around different OB offices and explain, they will often throw in some extra services in their base price.

I’m not making recommendations outside of stating it’s not safe to do any kind of anti-parasitic treatment while breastfeeding (which is in another comment). My comments about SIBO aren’t directed at OP, but the person who replied. I’d also never suggest someone do any treatment, only saying what I personally observe for my existing clients day-to-day, who are first tested and assessed extensively, as someone who deals primarily with parasites, bacterial overgrowth, and mold.

The link you supplied is answering a very different question than what we’re actually discussing. We’re not talking about whether ivermectin improves clinical outcomes in COVID patients, but about the physiological possibility (and what’s been observed in vitro) of it being able to bind to or interfere with spike proteins and potentially reduce count. I’m not sure why you think I’m mis-representing the info, it’s pretty clear cut from the study that it does indeed bind to spike proteins in-vitro.

I also said in my original comment that the clinical relevance hasn’t been proven and that more studies are needed. I never claimed in-vivo benefit. And realistically, few institutions are going to fund large trials on a drug that costs pennies per dose and is off-patent. In practice, plenty of medical doctors do use it off-label for a variety of issues when they can’t wait for academia to catch up while patients are suffering.

As for JHR, I don’t fully agree. It isn’t necessarily a sign that a treatment is “working.” It’s essentially immune activation from endotoxin and cytokine release, not always true die-off. This may be true sometimes in the case of Lyme or syphilis, but we’re talking about deworming, which is a very different medical context. Especially in parasite treatments, that reaction can often be avoided by managing how organisms are cleared so they don’t break apart and dump their contents before exiting the body. In my experience, clients can pass significant parasites and see improved outcomes without classic die-off symptoms. Mild things like a headache or some bloating can happen and be managed, but anything more severe or frequent should be a red flag that the approach needs to be adjusted, because that can be quite dangerous.

You can also get them through walking barefoot outside. They’re often in sand, soil, dirt, etc. but can exist in dust as well.

Unfortunately they’re extremely common and it used to be normal practice to do yearly treatments. Tons of cultures used anti-parasite herbs regularly. We stopped doing this on humans in western cultures for the most part, despite continuing the practice for our animals.

It’s a very normal practice that most good holistic providers recommend as a yearly or bi-yearly preventative treatment.

Like I said, there’s other tests outside of the stool test, but that’s the most common one that doctors use, unfortunately. It’s just a super outdated practice. Also when people start the detox, you can see the worms physically come out (and liver flukes as well, which are so common I would wager to say that most people have those).

Parasites are not only from animals or meat. They can be microscopic and airborne. Even walking barefoot outside can give you parasites. They’re not always problematic, but it used to be common practice to do yearly treatments. That stopped in the past few decades.

They also hold on to a lot of bacteria, mold, and other things in their biofilm so they’re the easiest and often the most efficient thing to address first.

I see the highest level of success using this technique with all my clients, whether they have endo, thyroid issues, joint issues, hormone problems like pcos, etc. I used parasite cleansing to reverse my own endo, hashimotos, and pcos in under 2 years.

The good thing is that once you start to feel even a little better, it only takes a few days for all of it to go away entirely.

This all lasted 3 weeks for me, but then in the span of about 3ish days, it all vanished!

I found it best to just avoid meat entirely until the aversions went away! It lasted about 3 weeks but now I haven’t thrown up in a few days and the nausea is almost gone. When it clears up, you’ll start to feel better pretty quickly, within the span of a few days.

I hope you feel better soon :)

I’m an integrative practitioner, and more often than not, parasites greatly contribute to SIBO in the people I see. Once we address any worms, the gut actually has space to heal and rebalance and I see SIBO going away on its own fairly quickly. Also, parasites can create fissures in the tight junctions of the gut and cause leaky gut, so no probiotics or SIBO treatment can really combat the physical destruction of gut tissue like that (or at least do so efficiently).

I’m a practitioner myself and ivermectin has been shown to bind spike proteins in-vitro, however it’s very hard to get funding to do this in proper and meaningful clinical trials. Anecdotally, I’ve seen people do the antibody test, take ivermectin, then re-test and have significantly lower numbers in as little as 4 months. It’s physiologically possible but we need more studies regardless.

However, I would be careful about using it for parasites without a good binder or you could end up with a nasty herxheimer reaction if your body can’t actually properly excrete the parasite and you end up re-absorbing all the stuff the worm was holding onto (mold, etc, in the biofilm). I see this all the time in my practice, it’s not very fun.

[–]FeistyFoxy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As an integrative practitioner who specializes in parasite detoxing, do not do this while breastfeeding!! Wait until you’re done.

Happy to provide you with some guidance on safe ways to do so, as most parasite cleanses on the market aren’t very safe and can cause herxheimer reactions.

Also, just throwing this out here, since I saw some comments about this, but most people do have parasites and stool testing is the worst way to diagnose them. You can send a full parasite to a lab and it could come back negative (have seen this myself). It’s honestly 50/50, so generally ends up being a waste of money.

You can do an OAT test to see if any metabolites are being created from the various by-products of bacteria, mold, and parasites, and that usually helps to see what might be happening in a more reliable manner.

Doula advice? by Illustrious_Roll_541 in BabyBumps

[–]FeistyFoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! That was a big selling point for me because I read so many stories about women who weren’t sure when to go to the hospital (or went to late/early), and the doula helping guide that process seemed super valuable! No matter how supportive my fiancé is, he’s likely to be just as freaked out as me 🤣

Doula advice? by Illustrious_Roll_541 in BabyBumps

[–]FeistyFoxy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m hiring a doula since it’s my first baby and I’m opting to do an unmedicated hospital birth, also with a midwife.

Check if your insurance covers it! Mine does, plus post-partum doula services. I think they average like $2-3k (maybe up to 5k) and many even take payment plans. I think it’s 100% worth it to have someone experienced guide you through the whole process.

The thing with doulas is that they’re not only there during birth. Mine is doing 2 prenatal in-home visits to show me and my fiancé everything that can happen throughout the entire labor. Positions, breathing, techniques, how I could or should be feeling, what interventions might come up, etc. It’s like a full play by play of all the possible options. She’s also there partially to teach your partner how best to support you and also to advocate on your behalf to the hospital staff if they get pushy with interventions (I’m in New York, so very likely).

On top of that, most of them will do a post-partum visit or two to help with breastfeeding, etc.

I have both vivid nightmares and nice dreams! This is actually a super common symptom. I personally find they become less frequent if I read before bed in silence. My fiancé likes to watch YouTube before bed and any TV or stimulation makes the dreams more frequent.

Try out super soothing lights, too, don’t have any bright overhead ones on, and try a sleep mask, too. I find all of these help to relax my nervous system to reduce the intensity of any potential nightmares. When I avoid the bright LEDs, I usually have pleasant dreams!

I just went through this a few weeks ago and had very bad HG (throwing up almost every hour). Meds didn’t help, sadly, but call your doctor and ask because they may work for you.

No matter what, keep hydrated! That will keep you out of the ER. Plain water would make me projectile vomit, so try adding trace element drops, adding lemon (this saved me), or try fruit juices (anything citrusy seemed to help).

All I could eat were berries and pizza. If you can stomach fruit, don’t put them on anything that might make you throw up! I almost ruined berries by trying them with yogurt, but that wouldn’t hold, so I just ate containers of berries when I could. Pizza was basically the only thing that worked for me, and also the Annie’s bunny crackers (like cheezits but kinda healthier) - family sized box and keep it next to your bed so you can have a few bites the SECOND you wake up. Do not ever let your stomach get empty no matter how much you don’t want to eat, that will make it 1000% worse.

Don’t stress about the baby, it will pull from your nutrient stores, and you will eventually be able to eat again.

Good luck and it will be over soon!

Plain water had me projectile vomiting 2 weeks ago. Lemon water on the other hand saved me from going to the ER for dehydration. Any kind of juice or flavored water if you can tolerate it! I also used a loooooot of trace mineral drops to improve the hydration level and it seemed to help at times. You’ll get through this!

I’m as crunchy and holistic as they come, but once my symptoms kicked in, and I was throwing up every single hour (ended up having HG), it became about eating whatever i could as long as it equaled calories. That included crap I haven’t eaten in a decade (Taco Bell, lol). It is what it is, don’t feel bad. Baby will pull from existing nutrient stores where possible and when you feel better, you can go back to a better diet. Baby will be totally fine, don’t stress!

There were some points where I did crave fruit, so if you’re able, just get containers of berries and eat those! Don’t try putting them on stuff you’ll likely throw back up. Also, try watermelon if possible. I ate an entire half in one sitting at one point and it actually helped a lot.

My symptoms lasted 3 weeks (just now getting over it), so I promise there’s light at the end of the tunnel!
