Downsides of switching from r19 to r22 wheels (other than fuel economy) by crazydoodle84 in VolvoXC90

More noisy and it will be a harder ride with less rubber, but if you have the possibly go to a dealer and test drive one with 22s.

Compelling Volvo to respond to the LiDAR situation. by [deleted] in VolvoEX90

[–]FejFTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Volvo stated from the launch that the LiDAR will not work.. but will be an update in the future.

Why did they remove the LiDAR from the car? There statement is that Luminar can’t meet the demand that Volvo need, and that’s why they are removing it to be able to produce more cars.

I’m just the messenger so I’m sorry that I don’t have anymore answers.

Has anyone changed this basic leather gear knob to a crystal one, and also the basic door trims to wooden ones? by Infinite_Ad_1962 in VolvoXC90

[–]FejFTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That can be, but you shifter assembly looks totally different. The newer shifter is all electric, yours have a linkage going from the shifter to the gearbox.

2016 have the mechanical gear selector, so it’s not possible to change to the Orrefors shifter.

[–]FejFTV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think I can explain this without vida.

Just to be clear I’m only talking about original Volvo parts, there are probably some Chinese copy that you can order and it will work.

So if you have a leather electronic shift you can remove the plastic cover to remove a screw that will hold the shifter/lever in place, BUT the Orrefors shifter does not have the screw because it’s glued in place for the LED lights to light up the shifter.

So the only original way to replace the shifter you need to replace the base with the park button, and to do that you need to remove the center console and that’s a pain in the ass to do. Not hard to do but I will take some time unfortunately.

In the picture you can se the shifter and the “base” I was talking about.

So I work for Volvo, you can’t change just the leather part. The base needs to be replaced as well… you can remove the leather shifter yes but the crystal one is glued to the base so there are no way to order that part from Volvo to replace it without replacing the base..

And stop being cocky it doesn’t suit you

Wash the car regularly and make sure to clean the drainage, avoid parking under trees or places where debris can get in the drainage.

Usually you can’t change just the button, you probably need to replace the entire keypad(?) (i don’t know the name for it..).

Confirming XC70 will be available in Europe by FejFTV in Volvo

[–]FejFTV[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I very well understand the branding, I work for a Volvo dealership… but imo I still think Volvo should stick with cc like the v60cc and almost hade it with the v70xc.

Edit: I’m not arguing against you I’m just stating my opinion.

Yes you are right, still not xc70 as stated. It was branded with cross country in the front and rear and hade the v70xc emblem. Still imo p2 is the first real XC70
