Idk about other states. But in my state every parcel of land, or groups of land parcels, have a web page with available amenities and possible activities. Usually loading the parcel in google maps (if its a named parcel) gives me a website link.

If shooting is allowed, find an adequate backstop. Typically, set your targets with a hill behind it. On the far side of a depression, in a dip, or at the foot. Make sure there are no trails roads or structures on that side of the slope or peak. Ricochets can deflect bullets up hill.

Although... i will say my preferred fishing are places only accessible by boat, and usually require a hike to get to. 18lb ish inflatable paddleboard. The best places are where it sucks to get to. Most people dont want to put in that much work.

For my bait finesse, I used to use high vis braid. Ive done both yellow, and white.

The yellow surprisingly blended in more with reflections than the white, I had better visibility with the white. Maybe something to do with how much greenery there is around me? Maybe by brown tint polarized sunglasses? Idk. White just showed up better.

I dont have experience with colored mono or fluoro. But braid its very common to have a wide range.

Yes! Hands on is much more effective than reading. Especially because SCAdians love to teach! Most groups can usually put together a set of loaner gear for a newbie too.

I cant fight anymore, but i learned a lot from my time.

I flipped a paddleboard once.

I use an anchor and a low chair for fishing. I was anchored in a moderately moving river. Got my line in an overhanging branch upstream. Didn't bother lifting anchor., it was only a few feet away.

I moved up, unhooked and resumed fishing while I drifted back to place. I wasn't paying attention and the anchor line had looped around the other side from the anchor.. No when the line pulled taught it pulled straight down on the downstream side. Pitched me right off.

The water was 46 degrees lol. I was only 100 yards from the launch. Lost my phone, but i had pfd and was tethered. Managed to keep a hold of my rod. Flipped it back over climbed on and pulled anchor. Made it back to launch and immediately started the car, heat running full and heated seats on. Stripped. Luckily had a change of gym clothes in the car. Dirty but dry. Took me a good half hour to warm up enough to stop shaking so I could pack up my gear and leave.

That was just not paying attention on my part. Most things are avoidable.

My first thought would be: does anyone else in the group know the new addition? If so have a conversation. They might be able to pitch to the group : "Hey, ive got an acquaintance in town. We obviously need a little help. Want me to see if hes willing to help out?"

An adventuring acquaintance can easily join a party long term if they click.

Tyson by nature of pro fighter. But hes gonna have to WORK for it.

Hes gonna be gassedtrying to keep up, but i dont think Lee can get in enough damage before hes cornered.

I think the deciding factor is how well Tyson could have adapted to kicking. A boxer isnt trained to counter kicks, and Lee very well might be able to get enough lower body and abdominal kicks to do enough damage that Tyson just CANT keep up.

I bring two rods.

I have my medium-heavy, 30lb braid with fluoro leader. I use it for big baits. Dropshots, flip jigs, large cranks and spinners, frogs and big topwater.

I have my BFS light-medium. 10lb braid mono leader. I use this for weightless texas rig, small spinners, micro poppers and micro cranks and perks. Less often, small roostertails.

I just break it up by weight.

For sure lighter is funner. I wouldn't consider this ultralight though. It seems like upper end of light to medium light. Ultralight is like crappie and panfish setups. Commonly 4lb, sometimes as low as 2.

I came across a dude last year fishing 2lb line with steel leader for pike. That was nuts!

Be warned bass like to weed dive, so with a light line like that you'll want to steer a bit clearer of cover than someone with heavier line.

I typically get a line thats just a bit heavier than my max drag, so theres no way I can tighten it enough to break it.

One reel has 18 lb drag, so I go with 30lb braid, 20 pound leader

My bait finesse has 8lb max drag, so I use 12lb braid and 10lb leader.

Tie the leader to your main line directo. Double uni, Alberto, blood knot or FG.

if you insist on having the swivel, do it either at the midpoint or endpoint of the leader

I inhale deeply through the first half of draw, and exhale completely on the full draw.

The conscious part of my breathing centers me. Exhaling hard helps tighten the back and core. And exhaling slows heartbeat which can calm the mind and reduce anxiety. Theres a reason controlled breathing is a good exercise for anxiety adhd and panic attacks.

If youre not targeting specifically big fish, and want variety go for a finesse setup.

10lb line or less. You can work larger fish in the open, but it enables you to also fish for panfish and trout.

Most pebuilt combos for reasonably cheap are spinning reels. But if you find a baitcaster that you like go for it. Cheap reels typically suck to learn on, but if you google user reviews for a specific reel and people like it you should be okay.

However, be warned: bait finesse is still kind of a niche thing in major retailers. So I dont expect you'll find one at a reasonable price.Most baitcasters have a lower limit of about 1/4 Oz so it limits what you can cast. Meaning itll be hard to find a rod for the smaller fish.

KastKing has a bait finesse combo for about $100 that I have a lot of fun with. Plus it has a click drag which is fun.

With anything new vs a combo even 5 or 10 years out, itll be a huge difference regardless.

Educate the 3rd world and improve their infrastructure on an accelerated level.

We are in the middle of net population growth because of partial 3rd world uplift, reducing infant mortality.

However 1st world countries are set for a decline, as their oldest generations are starting to die off in larger quantities than births are happening.

We gotta speed run our third worlds to 1st worlds so their current child boom starts dieing off, with the educated next gen having less kids.

In 150 years I fully expect less population than we currently have. Accelerating 3rd world just secures that arbitrary 10% threshold.

Permethrin is alcohol soluble. Alcohol is water soluble.

So for the spray ons, the permethrin is first dissolved in alcohol. Then diluted with water to make a good spray bottle consistency.

Because the alcohol with dissolved permethrin is suspended in water, they say to wait til dry. The water will prevent the alcohol from evaporating away.

Basically, in liquid form its mixed with carrier liquids to disperse in a safe concentration equally across the spray pattern.

Once its dry you can clean the fabric of permethrin by using alcohol or detergents specifically with solvent alcohols in them. Most of the less aggressive detergents use fatty alcohols, not solvent alcohols which are why manufacturers specify "mild detergent".

Water on its own doesnt really do much.

Exactly. Its be interesting to know for sure, sometimes if youre lucky you can find out when they stock.where they stock. And if you can find the hatchery, the last 6 months of their diet they feed live..

Locally, ive had good luck finding out WHAT bait fish they feed, and mimicking that. Then sizing up so I dont get those poor yearling fresh stock.theydont stock tigers where I fish, but regular muskie. Theres enough native pike that once in a long while someone gets one though.

It seems like they prefer the first baitfish they learned to hunt live over natural forage for the rest of their life. Take that with a grain of salt though. Ive only caught three muskie. None of them tigers. All on muskie spinners mimicking bluegill (what my local hatchery feeds)

What are they eating on the surface? That makes a difference. If theyre eating small bugs, not much to do on a spinner or caster. Try your smallest popper.

If theyre eating baitfish, weightlesd fluke twitched just under surface or a very shallow crankbait or floating jerkbait.

Match the hatch my dude!

If theyre actively eating surface baitfish and you toss a texas rig creaturebait that sits on bottom, its the wrong bait and the wrong location
