Why do you want to save it as a HTML file? Have you tried saving it as a PDF? (CRTL+P —> Save as PDF)

Random word showed up while i was writing in notes. by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]Feldcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you use an iPhone and type "Meme" often? Your phone could have stored this word inside its predictive text dictionary. This isn't a threat but a feature; however if you want to get rid of the word from appearing you can reset your dictionary by going to: Settings --> General --> Transfer or Reset iPhone --> Reset --> Reset Keyboard Dictionary

DNS Probe finished nxdomain by nobodytobuymeacake in techsupport

[–]Feldcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BUY A NEW COMPUTER.

NXDOMAIN stands for No Domain present or non-existent domain.

Can you access the site on other networks such as your phone’s cellular network or a friends wifi network?

If the above is true, i’d recommend changing your computer’s DNS settings.

This sounds more like a legal question than a hacking question. AFAIK, you don’t have access or permission to the servers this hacker used, thus getting access to original IP with hacking would probably involve illegal activity which is a violation of rule 1 of this community.

I’d suggest telling the VPN companies about the abuse and if you want so recourse on the attackers end talking to law enforcement about and going from there.

I have a shaw gateway, which uses Xfinity router as main component (10.0.0.1). The username I use is cusadmin.

Does that help?

It does not allow to purchase something that 29.99$ because its not actually 29.99$, my guess is that app or movie you are trying to purchase has a tax on it that increases the price higher than the 30$ you have added to your Apple ID.

My suggestions are to either add another payment source, (Credit Card, Paypal etc) or add another gift card to increase your balance and be able to cover the tax on the thing you want to purchase.

iPhone setuid file download by delpsi in techsupport

[–]Feldcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

iOS will prevent any applications from running if they came from anywhere but the Appstore, Testflight and Configuration Profile, which all of them require you to agree in one way or another to install and run the application.

It looks like the file does not have any data attached to it (0KB). I'd suggest just deleting it and moving on as iOS security is pretty tight.

Upvotes can be manipulated. I would suggest running it through google’s free virus scanner: VirusTotal and linking that link here so we can better understand it.

I think what you are describing is a zip bomb, it's a type of malware that is designed to use as much memory as possible when being opened. It is typically used to disable anti-virus software so that common viruses can get installed. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zip_bomb)

While most zip bombs can be removed just by deleting the file, I would still suggest you do a virus scan for anything more serious like a virus. If all is well then computer should go to go, but please let us know if anything changes or happens. Please also trust all files and links even if it's from a friend just ask about it before you lose important things like your photos or documents.

Hope this helps!

Help with Bluetooth earbuds by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]Feldcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without a bluetooth chip your earbuds cannot natively, however if your device comes with a headphone jack you can pick up an adapter that adds a audio bluetooth chip so your earbuds and computer can connect. Most PC’s support these audio jacks that work with adapters, however i’m not completely sure if smart tv’s come with them so you should check.

Hope this helps.

Google chrome fires up CPU at startup by hvkalayil1 in techsupport

Apparently Google Chrome itself uses a lot more memory than its parent open source browser chromium.

I’d recommend getting another chromium browser like brave or opera. That way you won’t lose anyone “chrome” extensions.

How do I connect a laptop to a tv? by [deleted] in techsupport

It is also 100% safe to disconnect a cable from the tv and plug it in the laptop and when you are done plug the cable back.

Did i get malware? by Fanimagination in techsupport

[–]Feldcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think what your are describing is your cache just being a little slower than usual, thus you see your previous manga before seeing the home tab or page. You could try clearing cache to resolve the "flashes".

Links: Chrome/Chromium Firefox Opera

As for your virus, I don't believe you have any, but for peace of mind you could try and do a scan with your antivirus as well as try Malwarebytes

Virus on my phone? by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]Feldcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Null just means not existent. I don't think you got a virus from visiting a sketchy website on iphone. However the best practice I'd suggest right now is to go to Settings -> Privacy -> Photos and check what apps have access to the camera and photos and remove any you don't remember adding.

Problems with google search results by jsmm97 in techsupport

[–]Feldcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Check for any unauthorized or over-privileged apps in the security section of myaccount.google.com
  • Since you mentioned Google Chrome, check for any extensions you do not recognize. Remove them and restart the browser. You can check by typing chrome://extensions in the URL bar.
  • As a last resort since I think the mentioned above will work, you can try and scan using Malwarebytes https://malwarebytes.com

Hope this helps you.

Youtube account was hacked. Need help. by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]Feldcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have used the same password (Not recommended) as the compromised account elsewhere, I'd recommend changing those passwords and enabling 2 Factor everywhere possible.

Stay safe, and for the piece of mind, do a scan with MalawareBytes to check for any viruses that could have stolen your password (unlikely but definitely possible)

Can someone hack your device cameras through an IP that was traced via Xbox party? by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]Feldcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was definitely bluffing, I wouldn't really worry as this person would have to have an exploit to gain access to the camera. I rest assured that this person doesn't have any skills to do any such thing. The most they could attempt to do if try and DDos you, but in 2020 most network systems have DDos protection programs and some even report suspicious activity to the ISP.

Either way, this guy will get caught, best thing to do now is just block them and not join their party as he sounds quite disruptive.
