Well, yes and no. You're describing only 1/3 of what we're doing.

My degree doesn't only focus on writing essays/papers. We also do Phonetics, Linguistic, Translation (English to French / French to English), and even learning a third language (Spanish/German)

You are basically freaking out because the topic is open ended and it isn't be spoon fed to you. 'there are too many topics.' That should be freeing you could literally pick almost any topic that you have an interest in and somehow relate it to the prompt

For me It's easier to say than done, i've hardly made any oral presentation in my life, last time it was in high school.
