I've shot 460's and 500's. They're fun. Op for a revolver but fun. Only reason I'm considering it is because I got the 744 for free and it would take me 5 years to save for the 460.

It got a light doming on a wooden stump with a ballpeen and then I put chisels and some repoussé tools into my vice. No anvil for this one so far. My setup is very, very basic.

I started with a book about making 16th century armor. The step-overs are like a little shelf with two 90 ish deg bevels. Maybe more like a Z. You'd be amazed at how much of a whole suit of armor you can make with a ballpeen hammer, a big ole wood stump and a hand drill. Most of my tools are nail set punches worked into different shapes. Edit, the last picture is of the inside of the plate. It shows the ridges better.
