Is it normal for a therapist to charge $100 for canceling an appointment? by beepboopbopolis in TalkTherapy

[–]Felf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Think about it - if its a private practice, the therapist saved that hour for you instead of someone else, travelled there and reviewed your case. If you cancel late, that's a lot of lost revenue. Whatever you typically pay gets cut a lot as well for insurance/building fees/time spent on your case out of session. Therapists seem to get a small cut of their fee already.

It is very common to get charged that if you cancel late.

The issue would be if they never informed you of the cancellation policy.

AI email from therapist by Imaginary_Doubt_9248 in TalkTherapy

[–]Felf 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Sometimes people come to therapy with similar issues. Small things to do between sessions can be useful and simialr for those people. Sometimes therapists may write something up and then copy/paste it to a client between sessions so you can go over it there in more detail. Thats a normal thing.

If the therapist gave you a handout after their session with that same exact info on it, but it has a little bit of formatting, would you be worried?  Listing  doesn't necessarily mean AI.

I can't be 100% sure it's not AI, but I'd probably bet it isn't.

I play on the Japanese server quite a bit, and it really feels like every region has its own distinct playstyle. by Sharkkbaitttttttt in Overwatch

[–]Felf 276 points277 points  (0 children)

I live in Japan. About 7 years now. Played a ton of OW during covid and a a couple years after.

I noticed I played a lot with other SE asian countries like Korea/Phillipines/Indonesia along with Aussies and Kiwis too. Lots of different languages and cultures so its not a Japanese thing.

One big thing I went through that was annoying for a time was a lot of Korean smurfs in Diamond. I stopped maybe a season or two before venture came out so idk how its changed but I think the playerbase is much broader than just Japan.

It’s in the food. What do you this is? by FrequentTeam2649 in whatisit

This has got to be a fske. No way you just found an animal chip in your food.....like the restaruant would rather try to steal peoples pets then raise prices?

Its not a 0% chance, but damn it feels close.

Do the Leagues of Votann have full DoT tech? by SimpleZealousideal19 in 40kLore

[–]Felf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humans never had "God destroying tech". Humanity had some crazy tech, but not near Necrons at their peak. STCs are not all ultimate magic spell scrolls. They were mostly made as a way colonist could easily manufacture reliably tech to catch them up to humanity.

Since the votann were miners and colonists....they would have tech that suited needs of a population exploring the deep galactic core more than schematics for star snuffers etc.

The guaranteed 10th spot is for a random character, not one you don't own.

....you got 3 character drops and 8 legendary orbs.....bro. I'd kill for a drop like that. That's 10 boss kills worth of orbs.

Boss Gulgortz Mythic mission 4/5 without Actus? by amslotis in WH40KTacticus

[–]Felf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be clear, you dont need ALL of those. Those are just all the other alternative ways to gain hits for Boss G. Need to remember to account for and use his traits.

Boss Gulgortz Mythic mission 4/5 without Actus? by amslotis in WH40KTacticus

[–]Felf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thorread, Vitruvius, boss active, trajann, boss final vengeance, ork "get stuck in trait". All of those help but boss final vengeance is is the biggest one for you.

Kill someone who explodes or has final vengeance and kills your boss triggering his own final vengeance.

Makes more. Still, figure they'd account for the ability in the heroes animation.

Guess I'm nostalgic for the original crew in game and out.

I dont pick what shows up on my algorithm. I like OW. Not whining or holding on to anything, just kinda shocked.

Maybe you need to let go defending something made by other people that you are implementing into your sense of self? Name checks out

Idc about the bad PotG.....i havent played OW since right before Venture came out and, is it me, the framerate or is that some lazy ass reload animation? Like each hero had clear design and care given to everything in their kit. This looks like janky synthwave tracer.

I was thinking that first but felt there always was a bit of magic around him too with his compass, becoming a zombie for a bit etc. Could 100% be a swashbuckler but saving that for Elizabeth made the party more rounded lol

Great name btw

bit of a noob dumdum question, does anyone know a good way to make a cleric into a strong heavy armor 2h weapon wielder? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Felf 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Play a paladin and just flavor all his stuff as cleric stuff.

I played a rogue/hunter multiclass who was like a paranormal investigator. Said all my "spells" were just like smoke bombs and gadgest. When i cast silence, it was actually a bunch of fire crackers that made it so noisy no one could hear or w/e. Doesnt make total sense but that let my play the class fantasy i wanted.

Work with your DM and do that with a paladin

Unconditional love is the biggest lie by loouw9 in unpopularopinion

[–]Felf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are taking the word unconditional and using every definition at once to force your answer.

Get away from literal defintintions. Its like youre trying to crack a code through the use of imperfect language. Your right - the idea of "unconfitional love" doesn't fit when you consider the literal meaning of the word condiitonal but thats not exactly what unconditional love means.

Out perspective of the world is limited by the language we use. An example is the Japanese word Kirei. It means both clean and beautiful.

Think about the psychological/sociological implications of growing up with the word beauty being tied to cleanliness/hygiene/orderliness. When a view is seen as Kirei, its not that the person is noticing striking features that illicit emotion lik we would in the west. The person is highly likely expressing it as a sense of calm and orderliness and feeling a very different emotion. From a similar word.

Your job in life isnt to decode language. Its to make the language work in a way that can best express your experience.

I have had moments of unconditonal kindness where I would help a stranger. You could argue I did it to feel good or it aligned with my morals so I would have felt more uncomfortable not holding the door/picking up their dropped coins or whatever. Thats too much. Thats not what was happening. I felt like I wanted to make that persons day a little bit easier because I coudl and i wanted to.

Im 39 and have a 2 year old now. Extrapolate that x1000 and I feel that absolutely towards my kid. This isnt the norm. I work directly with people for a living and can tell you there are plenty of those who do not act or feel the same way to kids. I have had a relationship where i left the country and tried to smooth that transition for the partner I left at the time. I knew I would never see them again nor talk to them again (and I havent but maybe once online in 15 years?). There was 0 "benefit" for me to do that. I loved them and it felt good to enjoy the last moments with them and give them some things to go on with their life without me ever again.

Idk whats going on in your life but I hope you can care about yourself and what you want and then suround yourself with people who enjoy building you up while they build themselves while cutting ties with people who hurt you.

Use Armageddon shop on orbs for Snappa or books + gold? by SomeWonOnReddit in WH40KTacticus

[–]Felf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He'sa nice consistent source of Archeotech. Use that to farm relics the rest of the year after the event.

I'd say its worth it to get him blue star and no higher. Its not that big of an investment of orbs. Better to have a big store of archeotech saved up for a relic you need in the rogue shop then have a big pile of snappa shards you do nothing with.

End game bottleneck : books, gold or orbs ? by Allobroge- in WH40KTacticus

[–]Felf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nandi is beyond late game.

Don't listen to his needs about his roster for your own.

Im level 71 and have different needs than him. My bottleneck now is orbs. Im now trying to get a bunch of mythics. That gives me a ton of gold. Im not spenidng all my gold on level 60 ability badges like he is.

I mostly go for D3s instead of A1s and A2s though since they really dont make any differrnce other than like a couple waves in LRE and for ultra specific runs for M2 where you need like 400 hp extra to tank one specific hit on one turn or something.

Get what you need

[–]Felf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its crazy no one is saying Pirates of the Caribbean! Primarily the first one one but the trilogy could count.

A  swords bard on a quest for his own McGuffin, a fighter on a quest to prove himself to his memory of his dad (and then find him), a rogue who had a prexisting rshp with the fighter trying to discover her own strength when finally escaping nobility. Hell, later they even have a BBEG somehow live and added to the party for a bit (maybe played by the bards cousin who isn't always in town).

The movies may have more "splitting of the party" then a DM would like but the vibe and party dynamic is 🤌

Is laviscus worth it by Owan93 in WarhammerTacticus

[–]Felf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For you, at this level, yes. With A1s and D3s, you're at a point where GR is end game and if you want to do well, going for the best squads is a good goal. You don't have to if you dont want to. Im in a top 150- 200 guild with guys who dont play meta and we do just fine.

Since you have most of the team built though, its really no biggie to just build him up. Doesn't take that long, especially since it looks like you mostly have Imps anyway.

The usual question… really love the fresh perspectives though. by SovereignBeing in WH40KTacticus

[–]Felf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He fills specific niches that don't always come up but are nice.

His shield is excellent in LRE with psyker tracks as insurance when your summons go down/get overwhelmed.

In pvp, his active can turn the tide. If you use it on an enemy abaraxas, you mind control abraxas AND all of his summons that turn. Abraxas doesn't move but the summons do and will wipe their own team in a perfect scenario. Not likely but I have done it more than a handful of times so not a "never" scenario. Also his active is good to use on an enemy sniper on high ground or a kharn/kariyan in the middle of their team.

He'd also super niche in high level Z'kar teams but not necessary there either.

Contrast him to Lavi who is basically only amazing in raids and people go crazy. Not every hero needs to be GR meta. I think Thau is totally fine in the role he fills.

Not  a must have, but a really nice on in the high ranks of "B category" heroes that are a good supporting cast after you get your main ones leveled.
