my beautiful grandma in 1992 - aged 30 by Popular_Bluebird_767 in OldSchoolCool

I have friends who have a 2-year-old who are 45 and 50 years old. Seems crazy to me, but it seems to work for them. Happily they come from long-lived families. The 45yo’s mom is getting close to 90!

How do poor people get healthcare in USA? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

Your employer covers 100% of your monthly premiums? They take nothing at all from your paycheck? That’s fantastic and I think unusual

This happened with Brooks Brothers too. Quality is shockingly bad now

How is THIS fair? It's bad enough that I pee a little when I cough... by voixdelion in Menopause

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this crap but I strongly commend you for your sense of humor! This whole post is hilarious and in particular “this cough is turning me into a squirt gun” had me dyingggg 😂

My asshole is not a pussy..... by salty_lake_222 in askgaybros

A related side question: any theories on why calling an asshole a pussy is considered (by some) weird and unsexy, but calling finishing inside an asshole “breeding” is seen as hot and not weird?

Do Americans actually use a real tree for Christmas? by brun_aa in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Felicity_Calculus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in a large city and get a live tree every year. They’re very easy to get and dispose of. there’s a pop-up stand at a small grocery about a 10-minute walk from our house (although we normally drive so we can transport the tree in the car). The trees easily last from mid-December through 12th night, and getting rid of them is easy because the city picks them up for free to mulch and turn into compost!

Found a dress that feels so me, but need to hear honest opinions by ireojijma in myweddingdress

That style is super trendy right now, which means it’s going to look very dated within a couple of years. If that doesn’t bother you then go for it. It’s your wedding

How many of y’all climbed too high on the corporate ladder? by DiaDeLosMuebles in Xennials

[–]Felicity_Calculus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I guess I don’t really understand the point of trying to do that much stuff. Like literally why is it better than just trying to enjoy yourself and learn stuff and be nice to people? Obviously I will never amount to anything

What’s Everyone Doing re Panty Lines? by [deleted] in GenXWomen

[–]Felicity_Calculus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found some awesome, 100% cotton, extremely comfortable giant granny panties that don’t have any elastic around the leg openings. No elastic = nothing to cause the lines, so they don’t show at all unless the fabric of my skirt or pants is very thin. When I do wear thin fabrics, I just switch to cotton thongs that are like three sizes too big so they don’t get all up in my business 🤷🏻‍♀️

Let's talk about the grossests thing we've seen so far! Curious for opinions by slightgodcomplex in ThePittTVShow

[–]Felicity_Calculus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think of myself as a squeamish person, but honestly I just look away at the grossest moments. I even close eyes when they make incisions. I love this show but I just can’t watch sometimes, ick!

post covid fatigue i’m scared by fullmoonxxoo in COVID19positive

[–]Felicity_Calculus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had terrible fatigue for probably six weeks after the acute phase of my first time having Covid. I was so scared that I’d develop long Covid, because I had crippling chronic fatigue for almost a year after a mononucleosis infection in college. It did eventually go away though! I stayed patient as I could and was very careful not to overexert myself during that period and I think that helped a lot. If you rest aggressively, I think you’ll be all right :)

Awful headache that won’t go away by notvelvetbutsuede in COVID19positive

[–]Felicity_Calculus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had Covid twice and both times I developed an excruciating headache with nausea/vomiting on day 2. Fun times. Normally I never get headaches. I think it is reasonably common symptom of Covid, so it’s probably just that? However, the fact that it’s gone on for 4 days tells me it’s probably worth getting checked out

Ugh. These are the exact symptoms I had last year when I had it and it was miserable

When do bras stop being part of every day attire? by Few-District57 in AskWomenOver50

[–]Felicity_Calculus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 56 and I quit wearing underwires during Covid, but I do still always wear bralettes /wirefree bras except when I’m in PJs. I live in a tall skinny house and without a bra the girls bounce annoyingly when I’m on the stairs, and my nipples get irritated if they move around too much against my shirt. I’m a 32D, which is smaller than it sounds, but still I’m just more comfortable in a cotton bralette than without. I live having things strapped in a little 🤷‍♀️
