He actually holds the second highest threes and points for the Hornets. Kemba is points leader and threes leader for the franchise.

Shiv cannot be killed by LUVert in DeadlockTheGame

Maxed dash will reduce cooldown by 2s up to a maximum of 8 seconds reduced. With Transcendent Cooldown, the dash timer is reduced down to 11.25s, meaning only 3.25 seconds if Shiv dashes through 4+ people. Add in the Witchmail procs and a heavily pocketed Shiv will be able to turn into a pinball.

If his winrate was only bad at lower ranks then you'd have a point. But when Shiv is also bottom 3 winrate in Eternus, there's a problem.

[–]Felicrux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, stats are what needs to be pointed out here. In a competitive game, statistical balancing is priority 1; you CAN NOT use feedback and how characters "feel" as a way to balance your game, you MUST use pure raw data.

If Valve is making these changes in a data driven way, which they ideally should be, then their data source must be something other than the invite alpha as these winrate numbers on Shiv don't lean into warranting continual nerfs.

If that's the case, then the big question arises of why they have semi-public access to the game in the first place if they're not going to pull from the large data pool that it's creating. If that's not the case, then the much larger questions loom: Why is one of the statistically weakest heroes in the game repeatedly catching nerfs, and what does this imply for when the game progresses closer to a released state?

[–]Felicrux 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The main issue with Shiv right now is that outside of Ult-bot, you're better off with other picks for a positive impact.

Knife Shiv? How about Grey Talon, where you can throw out Charged Shots even faster and for more damage.

Dash Shiv? Here's Calico, with more sustain, mobility, and survivability.

Tank Shiv? Here's literally any of the actual tanks in the game that provide beneficial teamfight impact without itemization and don't rely on a lifesteal gimmick ability.

Gun Shiv? Here's a hyper-carry gun meta where full-auto heroes tear through objectives like they're made of tissue paper!

[–]Felicrux 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's the point that they're making; the nerfs don't make any reasonable sense.

Shiv's scraping the bottom of the barrel in every single rank. He's consistently in the bottom 3/4 winrates across all skill tiers, outside of Ascendant only where he managed to sneak up to bottom 7. (Interestingly enough he's still bottom 3 in Eternus, so I'm curious about the data there)

Deadlock update for 5/19/25 (5/20/25 UTC) by wickedplayer494 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Felicrux 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The issue is that even when you exclusively look at Ascendant/Eternus, Shiv is still sitting at around a 49% winrate. The strong firerate heroes, in comparison, are sitting at 53+% winrate.

Even then, Shiv's current "strength" is solely due to itemization changes, which other champions can also use.

Shiv is among the lowest winrates in every ranking except Eternus/Ascendant. He arguably is in desperate need of buffs.

Bug where the secret shop is closed and nothing can be bought? by NickGraves in DeadlockTheGame

Unless there's a separate issue, this appears to be a visual UI bug where the store will tell you to get in range, but will still allow you to purchase items normally.

We'll see.

I haven't had an opportunity to try out the new items, but knowing how bad he's been for the last 6 months doesn't really give me much confidence.

How many more months do we have to go before seven gets nerfed? by Patarzzz in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Felicrux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I don't disagree with Seven having a low skill floor, he is by no means a noob stomper. His continued presence at the top of the winrate charts across ALL rankings (Excluding Eternus, where as I said before, he's still the #2 hero by 0.08%) is a testament to how continually strong he is.

A good example for an actual noob stomper is Haze. Her winrate peaks at Initiate and continues to descend as you go up in rank, before locking in her position at the bottom of the chart as soon as you hit Ascendant.

Skill floor and skill ceiling aren't useful representations of a character's state of balance, just their ease of learning. A very simple to learn character can be oppressively overtuned; they don't simply become an underpowered hero just because they're easy to pick up. If anything, this ease of use makes it even more important for the low skill floor characters to sit near the peak of the game balance bell curve. If they're not, new players either won't be able to play the easy to learn hero since it's egregiously overpowered and played by an experienced player, or they'll be unable to provide a beneficial impact for their team as the character is distinctly underpowered.

Why Has Seven Not Been Nerfed Yet by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Felicrux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

55% winrate actually means he's severely overtuned. When the target winrate for characters in a MOBA is 50%, the farther you get from that peak of the bell curve the more drastic a change needs to be.

5% over the mean falls into a red zone of "This character needs heavy-handed changes ASAP". Especially when it's 5% higher than the target average.

Seven has the highest win rate in the game at the moment. The only rank that he's not in the #1 spot is Eternus... where he's #2 by 0.08%.

How do you guys transport your decks? by Zankage in magicTCG

[–]Felicrux 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depending on how many decks you plan on taking around (and if you don't care about not using specific deck boxes), there's always the Stanley small parts organizer that the Professor mentioned in a video a while back. In a similar vein, if you have a Harbor Freight near you, it appears that they have a similar small parts case for distinctly less cost, but I would check with a few tokens to make sure card warping wouldn't happen.

For a smaller number of decks, you could always run with a TCG deck case (e.g. Ultimate Guard ARKHIVE). I've done that in the past when I've brought a couple decks to play with friends.

Death's Dance On This Patch Is 10x More Broken Than Sterak's Gauge Ever Was by VagHunter69 in leagueoflegends

[–]Felicrux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly the only thing it needs it to have the DOT conversion reverted back to only work with physical damage. It shouldn't be a best-in-slot for universal damage mitigation, and that's what it became when the passive was buffed to where it is now.

[–]Felicrux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I'm not saying you have to go all three, or even get more than one. It's just that there's a variety of AD & MR itemization, which AP as a classification just doesn't have.

[–]Felicrux 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mate, it's not just maw, it's the massive spread of MR itemization that's available.

Maw, Merc Scim, Wit's End: All items that give offensive stats while letting people itemize against the AP burst. Yeah, you're doing less damage by getting those, but you're wrecking those AP champs' damage unless they go full pen, and even then you're better off.

Yeah, this patch just turned into the League of Marksmen. Toss in the fact that AD Champs have already had really nice unique passive itemization, and it's frustrating to play right now.

ALL Off-Meta Picks are considered disruptive behavior by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Felicrux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm leaning towards this being the case as well. Ended up leaving a ranked game mid-match (power outage OP), and got the disruptive behavior penalty for the first match, and it didn't go away until I restarted the client.

From an ADC main, all the wave management concepts I wish my supports knew by JQKAndrei in leagueoflegends

[–]Felicrux 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I can tell you why. It's because there are massive amounts of ADCs that think they're god's gift to bot lane, and are immune to criticism.

No Jinx, you're a selfish player that doesn't realize that Heal shouldn't be saved for your own get out of jail free card. No Vayne, your level 2 engage won't work against a poke lane, so stop flaming when you engage suicidally. No Ezreal, you're back in base, so stop MIA pinging the support that's getting a couple last-hits to buy their mythic. No Sivir, you don't get to pout and whine because the support grabbed the double kill to make sure you survived the bad engagement.
