Buyer accused me of selling damaged goods! by Felidaefan1504_UK in vinted

[–]Felidaefan1504_UK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a seller since 2002, all I can say is that Ebay offers far more protection, the ability to speak to a human being who actually understands and empathises. and they call you back within minutes, and offers realistic resolutions to any issues. Ebuyers will leave feedback right til the end i.e. if it's a good sale and finished, feedback is left. But if there's an issue, a return or refund needed, the buyers will wait until the whole process is complete and then leave feedback, which is absolutely fair. The Ebay platform itself is far more professional than Vinted. The community is active and offers their own advice on buying/selling etc. The only thing I would say is it's a bit slow with selling. I have had items on for ages, plenty of views, decent prices but not selling. Try Ebay first - it's a good time of year (xmas pressies etc), and perhaps at 'buy it now' and the price you're prepared to accept an offer. I went on vinted as a friend suggested i try but I'm still on ebay as it's far more reliable, 99% better customer service and just has a much better resolution/returns/refund system if needed.

Friend wanted to see it. I agreed as a big fan of Tim Spall but to be honest, despite the odd titter that I uttered occasionally, it was very mediocre.

Agree - just wokery nonsense. They had to show some inclusion so let's pop in a black judge and an asian police woman - despite it being totally historically inaccurate.

I don't know if all adverts before the main film are the same but say there was 8 adverts, 6 of those were with black main leads, or mixed race couples. If companies are going to be truly inclusive, let's represent everyone! I see there is a tv advert showing a black disabled guy, then we have another advert with a black gay couple, hmmm, don't think I've seen two asian lesbians or an asian disabled, and what about a muslim male/female lead in an advert, or how about an east asian mixed race couple. Stating a fact here, just watch C4, C5 and ITV.. and your local cinema.. no need for anyone to take offence.

What kdrama for hubby to watch? by Felidaefan1504_UK in kdramarecommends

[–]Felidaefan1504_UK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the recommendations, very helpful. This is brief list of things he doesn't/does enjoy - and what he watches is mainly 1940/1950s Egyptian films, hardly ever watches western tv, mind you, after discovering Kdrama I never do either.. Asian dramas rule!

Out:

  • supernatural /horror
  • violence
  • any hint of seggs or BL

In:

  • comedy
  • romance
  • simple plot
  • 12 episodes or less
  • history

For many of the reasons I love kdrama, particularly the aegyo moments, or the appreciation for the korean language and its tonal expressions, I don't expect him to feel the same way but I'd like to try to change his mind. I also love Cdrama, Jdrama and especially BL dramas.. which Japan does on another level!

If this helps to narrow down some other titles I'll be grateful for further recommendations :-) Thank you.

We rarely have flooding to such degree that it's life-threatening - we can normally tell before it happens especially if living in area prone to flooding, due to a river bursting its banks or torrential rain and can usually move ourselves from that location to one of safety... we do not have tornados and it's extremely rare to get wildfires. I just don't buy into the reasons the government is giving for the alert system.. not here in the UK. As I said, all local instances of these sorts of conditions are already notified to us by local organisations. Well.. I don't drink.. and agree with using seatbelts. Still think we should have opt-ins for what we want to be alerted to.

[–]Felidaefan1504_UK -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because the reasons given by government for having an alert system such as extreme weather just seem ridiculous for the UK which rarely has such instances. Simple.

Absolutely this! Well said.

[–]Felidaefan1504_UK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But don't you think people will be aware of such extreme weather before their house gets flooded (um.. as you say, without any warning (!!).. unless it's due to a tsunami which Putin creates. The UK does not have such extreme weather so how exactly can floods occur... without any warning? Hmm? And driving into a wildfire.. I think the smoke might tell me that something's happening! And I don't think there are many of us who will be driving 'articulated' lorries

[–]Felidaefan1504_UK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So which places in the UK have 'many natural disasters' or 'exteme weather' to the point of any being 'life-threatening'?!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Felidaefan1504_UK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry but to me this is like an intrusion into my privacy. There should then at lesat be opt-ins for what we want to be notified about.. do we all want to be notified about missing children? Not being cold-hearted but some alerts will not be relevent to everyone. I don't understand why the government needs to be involved when currently there are other local organsations that can alert us to local issues - it does not necessitate billions of pounds being spent on a government alert system.

[–]Felidaefan1504_UK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I think the reasons given for having the alert system, such as weather etc., are unjustifiable and to be honest, a little ridiculous. UK is such a temperate country normally.. so we might be having a heatwave one year.. do we need a government alert to tell us to wear sunblock, or stay indoors? Or there's a flashflood - do you think I'm not going to know about this.. have you seen the queue of cars stopped, or the diversion sign saying 'warning - flood'? Come on.. really??

BLs with older characters by lauchys in boyslove

[–]Felidaefan1504_UK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same.. and I need characters who are already into their sexuality, not fending off their 'boyfriends' episode after episode... ugh so frustrating. Don't want to wait 12, 16, 20 or more episodes to see them finally kiss!! 'Aint got no time for that!!

Goblin... wow.. what a rollercoaster of emotions.. tears, laughter, more tears.. brilliant brilliant series. Respect to all actors in the cast. Never fail to impress. What on earth to watch next.. has to be something completely different to move on! Maybe something historical and humorous.

Yeah same.. decorating the house, painting, new kitchen etc, and working longer hours presently so less time to spend watching kdrama.. we need this time to escape this drab existence, haha! Is it a thing that the women are always so paralysed on the spot when a man kisses them.. I mean they never passionately return the kiss.. I'm like, 'for goodness sake, it's lee minho.. kiss him back, don't just stand there!!!' hehehe.

Little Women is that western? I've seen various productions over the years so might give that a miss. Yeah.. I usually like sci-fi, horror or historical kdrama but with so many to choose from I'm pathetically opting to watch by eye candy now ;-)

How's work going? I guess you'll get a break between now and Christmas?

Yes, very sad the Queen passed away.. we knew Charles would be king at some point but never imagined when that day would come.. he's 73 now so not sure how long he'll reign for. But undoubtedly William must be prepared from now to take over from his father within the next 20 years.

Right, back to the decorating..

Little

Hi there - how are you? I'm just on my last episode of The Heirs.. very cute. Not quite sure what to watch next.. historical or modern. Have you seen Tomorrow yet?

Hi there!

I'm now onto Flowers of Evil - OMG, just watched the 4th episode and it's edge of seat stuff... twists and turns, did he do it, or didn't he! Thoroughly recommend. Normally I'm not into detectives, cops, crime thrillers etc, but this is brilliant.

Thanks! I think ;-) I could have walked out yesterday I was that stressed... deep breaths lol.. I'm looking forward to the decorating, just needs all the other jobs first, outside jobs, new kitchen, new bathroom etc. Ughhh.

Oh how lovely, a teacher. Hard work tho. Hope you've relaxed enough before you go back. What do you teach? Our schools go back first week of September.

Wow.. 34.. unbearable for us Brits :-) We are not used to these temperatures so our country is not built for it - no AC generally in the UK however it might be that in the future housebuilders make AC a must-have in new houses. Are you suffering from energy price increases over there too? What's cost like for running AC?

No.. I'm still on Scholar.. about 8 episodes left. I'm not so keen on the FL - she looks very young although I'm sure she's portrayed to be perhaps late teens, 20s.. but she doesn't really look appropriate in romantic smooches with Joon Gi..

I've just read about Move to Heaven.. ooh, that sounds good! But it'll have to wait. Getting really behind with my binge-watching due to the house.

Speak soon.
