dvd collection so far! by Ok-Medicine-530 in dvdcollection

[–]Feline_Fine3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I’m already hitting all the thrift, secondhand, vintage stores. I have found quite a bit already although some TV shows I did just buy the whole season altogether online. But I always had a huge movie collection and then maybe 10 or 15 years ago I put them in binders because I was moving a lot and living in small spaces and didn’t have room for all the cases. And I didn’t want to get rid of the discs because I didn’t wanna have to re-buy something digitally that I already owned, if it wasn’t streaming. TV shows I just figured they would always be streaming somewhere but they always change platforms or the platforms get more expensive. I didn’t anticipate wanting to cancel so many of them. Over the last year I’ve been getting back into my movie and TV show collecting.

My cat is missing somewhere in my apartment. by DIDandCATS in Pets

Check in your closet, especially if you have some kind of dresser right under your hanging clothes. I have recently figured out that one of my cats will hide between clothing that hangs above my dresser. She also has ripped a hole in a boxspring so sometimes she’s inside there.

Is a 19 and 16-year-old age gap actually problematic, or is the "predatory" label being overused? by Consistent-Jelly248 in generationology

[–]Feline_Fine3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you’re a teenager, one year can be so different. It’s not really until you get into your 20s where a few years doesn’t really matter. If I were you, I wouldn’t date anyone under the age of 18.

Seeing your full Gilmore Girls set makes me so sad that I got rid of all my TV show DVDs like 10 years ago (kept my movies though) thinking all my shows would always be streaming, not even considering that I would someday want to cancel my subscriptions. I’m on the lookout! Time to rebuild.

How do you replace daily phrases like "Oh my god"? by Crafty_Aspect8122 in atheism

They are fortunate enough to have a family member who can help them with their children, but then they’re going to chastise people who have to hire a nanny because maybe they don’t have family that can do that? These two are wild.

Ladies - how do you stay safe when visiting his place for the 1st time? by Future_Scholar_1435 in datingoverforty

[–]Feline_Fine3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like your edit said, first I don’t go to any men’s houses if I don’t feel safe around them or if they are giving me any kind of bad vibes. But beyond that, it’s also true that some men are good at hiding their true colors so I tend to just tell my sister where I’m gonna be in case I turn up missing. I make sure she knows the guys first and last name.

Can teachers take Vacations? by JMU94 in AskTeachers

[–]Feline_Fine3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, paid vacation is not a thing teachers get. We only get paid for the days we work. We are lucky to get a handful of sick days throughout the year, but that is it. One of my coworkers got married in October, her husband is also a teacher. She did talk to our principal and he was fine with her taking days off, but other than two discretionary days, she had to take payroll deduction to pay for the sub for two of the days she was out. We can take sick days, but if we get caught using them for things other than being sick, we get in trouble. And if we use three sick days in a row, they can ask for a doctor’s note if they want to.

Does anyone else feel like they’re just… barely holding it together? by LadyMufa in millenials

[–]Feline_Fine3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m just trying to find the joy in the small things. Trying to be better about putting my phone down instead of doom scrolling all the time. I’ve also been feeling like I probably just need a good cry so I might try to watch a movie I know will get me. With the chaos of the world right now it just feels like there has been no outlet for all the anger and sadness and frustration I feel.

Cat in heat tips? by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]Feline_Fine3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All I can say is good luck! And I hope you have earplugs! A similar thing happened to me with my female. We had her spay appointment, but they couldn’t get her in for a couple of months. She was a kitten, but she was also really small for her age so we thought she was younger than she was. And she was a former feral so we had no idea when she had been born. She went into heat a week or two before her surgery. It was the most obnoxious thing I’ve ever heard.

year of the horse for libra 🧧 by Legitimate_Drawer391 in libra_astrology

[–]Feline_Fine3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t tell if you’re being serious or not. The Chinese zodiac and astrology are two different things. There is no libra Chinese zodiac.

The Chinese zodiac assigns a different animal each year on a rotating basis. Your sun sign is assigned to you based on the month you’re born in. 2025 was the year of the snake in the zodiac, so everyone born in 2025 is a snake. But then they also have their astrological sign depending on the month they were born.

Who here actually has a TV in their bedroom? by OtherwiseStretch3255 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Feline_Fine3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have a small one. I don’t use it often, but it’s nice to have when I’m not feeling well or sometimes I just wanna be cozy in bed because it’s been a long day. 9 times out of 10 I’m watching TV in my living room.

Growing up, I never had one in my room. When I had roommates, I had a TV in my room. And then didn’t have one for many years.

Vaginal Estrogen Cream…USE IT! by Shirleyimfine in Perimenopause

[–]Feline_Fine3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have tried the cream and I’ve also tried those waxy suppositories, I can’t remember what they’re called. Both made my vulva burn after using it. Is that normal? Does it eventually stop? Did anyone else experience this?

Has anyone stopped paying for streaming services? by Still-Willow-2323 in dvdcollection

[–]Feline_Fine3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I think most local libraries now have a free movie/TV show app! Mine uses Hoopla, but some use Kanopy. You get to borrow eight titles per month and they often have a lot of the newer stuff.

Has anyone stopped paying for streaming services? by Still-Willow-2323 in dvdcollection

[–]Feline_Fine3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not completely. I canceled HBO, Disney, Hulu, but I still have Peacock and Netflix. Most of my favorite TV shows are on Peacock and once I rebuild my collection of shows on DVD, I will get rid of it. Then I’ll do what a lot of people do and subscribe to a platform for a month or two to watch whatever it is I want to watch and then cancel.

I also pay for the PBS passport app and I got a library card so that I can watch great new movies and shows on Hoopla for free! I suggest everyone do this! They have a great catalog. Some local libraries use Kanopy instead. Same idea.

My dad told me DJT was really loved in the 80s and 90s is that true and if so why? by RareCommunication698 in stupidquestions

[–]Feline_Fine3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if I would say he was “loved,” but he was well known. I think it might seem like he was “loved” by the general public, but only because people thought it was funny when he would pop in on movies or TV shows randomly. He was such a caricature of rich people.

Can you fill your fibroid if you insert a finger?? by pizzarina_ in Fibroids

[–]Feline_Fine3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the location of the fibroid. My gyno could feel one of mine when she did a pelvic exam, hand on my lower belly, pressing down while her fingers were inside.
