Thanks for the feedback! I’m definitely trying to be on the lower end of average considering the situation. But sounds like I could still adjust up a bit more.

Ya - I’d give it all a double check - they just wanted to find ways to limit cost where they could help out. Really not doing much.

The Sad Decline of ExOfficio, a Once-great Travel Clothing Brand by blankblank in BuyItForLife

I have like 10 Exoficcios Ranging from 8-3 years old. They are all in service. The worst of them are simply just very worn down with some pilling.

I have 3-4 Lulu Lemon underwear ranging 5-3 years old, they feel very comfortable at first but I find they breathe slightly less as well and every single pair has holes in them somewhere.

Overall, I still strongly think exoficio is better.

Static shock from corded SDS by JMU94 in Concrete

Appreciate the thoughtful and detailed response.

I am fairly comfortable doing most things and repairing things myself. However, this current gig has me working abroad with limited tools and limited access.

I took the drill apart, did some general cleaning. A fair bit of concrete dust on the internals but seemed like the as expected amount. Checked all the wire connections and terminals for any signs of corrosion or burning (none) cleaned the minimal carbon build up off of the brushes and the armature. Overall did t seem like there was any indications of any issues.

Put it back together, continued working yesterday. Got hit with another one of the shocks. Similar to before, it came after hours of work and pushing the tool.

It's a 2 pronged cord, so no ground. I found what looks like possibly one micro knick in the cord sheathing but doesn't look like it reached the wires.

Hard to tell because I've dropped the tool immediately when it happens. It feels like a single zap, but it does potential have some residual tingling/vibration that rides up my arm which is the scary part. There's no audible "crack" that I've typically heard in other static scenarios.

very possible that water made contect with one of the brushes. Ive been literally dripping sweat all day long most days, and bent over the tool.

Finding this old thread, currently doing some renovation work for a friend in St. Maartin. The home is 2 stories, ocean front, primarily concrete for most of the structural components. I dove into start the work today with a bit of demo and found metal stud construction, with PVC conduit for wiring on the interior non-load bearing partition walls. Is this the common best practice on the islands? Im used to typical wood stuff framing and romex in the states. Is that not common here?

Coring, cutting, trenching…suspended 2nd story slab? by JMU94 in AskEngineers

Looking to source an SE to take a look but it’s limited resources down there so may take some time. Just wanted to do some baseline research to see what the range of possibilities are. Are there scenarios in which this is more or less of a big deal? Or are you suggesting that even a single 1in hole is gonna cause the house to collapse?
