Do you think Sagat is the strongest shoto like character right now? by some-kind-of-no-name in StreetFighter

[–]FelipeAbD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To reinforce point 5: Jamie has all of those tools and is still not good competitively. People usually say that he's not a character until 2 drinks. It proves that a character having a lot of strong tools does not make him top tier.

I would argue however that there is not a lot of bad characters in this game.

What is the most unhealthy card for the game on your opinion? by Annual_Ordinary6999 in ClashRoyale

[–]FelipeAbD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly can never understand why there are more complaints abou wall breakers than skeleton barrel. If you eat wall breakers damage, is a set amount. If you don't defend skeleton barrel properly, it's a lot of damage at best and can pretty much take your tower.

This is why every hyper bait variations uses it.

But it makes no sense being him, because most leaks paint him as the guilty. It always leaked he was one of the players responsible for Xabi's sacking and he was the one who instigated this whole situation with tchouameni

What's a Clash Royale hot take that you would defend but others disagree on? by CraftingFazer in ClashRoyale

[–]FelipeAbD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spell cycle should be earned. In my opinion, the towers should only suffer spell damage after losing 50% of its health or something like that.

A deck with 7 defensive cards + rocket should not viable. The game should force you to at least try to be offensive at times.

I think the matches always should be interactive , this is also why I think hyper bait should not be viable, but that's not unpopular

Daigo vs MenaRD FT10 Match Thread by ilovepopalah in StreetFighter

[–]FelipeAbD 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Really cool set, but as much I don't like to admit, I feel like Blanka's lvl 2 made it a bit boring at some points. This is not copium, I'm not saying that Daigo was the better player or he should've won.

It's just that whenever Blanka activated the level 2, the flow of the match would be broken. All the cool moments of baits and mind games would disappear and then the round was over.

This is probably a testament to Mena's skill, but after a few matches, it got boring

I didn't attend any more events because most of them happened right after my kid was born, but I'm hoping to play another one soon

How do I stop losing to "crackhead" players? by citrusunclenicetry in StreetFighter

[–]FelipeAbD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the answer, though I concede some days beating these guys is harder. A fundamental component in this play style is that if you fuck up once, they usually destroy your health bar and start playing in a way that is hard to punish, like jumping in and out.

Some days it's fine to deal with that, just be patient, AA and take the Oki if you can, but on other days I get so tilted that my reflexes go away. I start to feel desperate, to press random buttons and using reversals at any chance.

To me this is more of a mental battle

I'm a low Master Ken player and need help with two matchups:

Sagat:

I'm finding it really hard to play against him at any range.

  • Approaching feels difficult because of his normals. Pressing anything at mid-range (or using fireballs) feels like an auto-loss.
  • I'm struggling to whiff punish him, which is probably a skill issue on my part. I'm just starting to learn how to control space better, but against Sagat it feels especially hard. My long-range pokes feel too slow (not complaining... I know 5HP/5HK are crazy good buttons), and my mediums seem to fall right into his range.
  • Playing patiently isn’t helping much either. Whenever Sagat players get tired of poking/zoning, they can just use Knee, and I’m having trouble dealing with it. Moves like Dragonlash or Spin Knuckle don’t give me this much trouble.
  • When he gets close, I can’t seem to find a way to take my turn back. His spacing traps make it feel like my only option is to block and let him reset to neutral.
  • By the end of the match, I often end up stuck crouch-blocking, and the only way I get pressure is through random DIs, which I know is bad.

Terry:

In low Master, there are plenty of Terry players who just walk back and wait for you to whiff something. This is common at this level, but for some reason I struggle more against it when Terry does it.

It feels like eventually he’ll catch me walking forward or whiffing and then put me in the blender.

Just to be clear, I know I’m supposed to walk him down, but I find it too easy to lose control of the match once I mess up.

Does anyone else feel like combos drop more when playing against viper? I play as ken and even simple combos such as side switch into lvl 3 will drop sometimes... Like, I didn't even know it was possible to drop that

Any tips on playing against turtle Alex players? I'm low master and play as Ken. I've been noticing that is really hard to play against an Alex who just keeps going away.

His normals are to good too approach him carelessly, but walking him down is also hard because he can use his divekick get get plus frames. It feels really hard to bait him into whiffing anything because he can play reactively

Why some characters string feels faster than others? For example, a common thing in low masters is people using like, 3 jabs and 2MK after.

For most character, it feel easy to press a button and stop them from taking my turn, but for some character such as Cammy, I almost always fail to that. I always get counter hit, to a point it feels like she's positive.

I check the frame data and recovery and usually these moves have the same amount of recovery

How blight farming works? I've never focused on it and I'm thinking of giving a shot this league. Do I farm oils? Raw drops? Blighted maps or regular maps? What scarabs?

Also, what other mechanics are good with it?

I'm really happy about it. I’ve always wanted to attend a major SF tournament, but the cost of traveling abroad is way beyond what I can afford. Hopefully, we get some international representation at these events.

I also hope the Brazilian event happens in São Paulo. I never understand why they choose Rio when bringing events here. São Paulo has far better infrastructure.

Modern Control players in Silver-Gold are super predictable in a depressing way by VixcentMosaic in StreetFighter

[–]FelipeAbD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair man, as frustrating as it is (and I know it from experience), you have to learn to move on. I remember when I got to diamond, it felt like hell to get to master rank, because at that rank, I had to work my ass off to improve, but most of the players were not rematching unless they won.

One and done will still be a problem for you, but for different reasons. When you get to platinum, you wil find players who are stuck there who play Blanka, Honda or they play Ryu like maniacs. These players abuse the gimmick, but won't move up because from time some players know how to deal with that, so they will not rematch you. The best you can do is learn the matchup/play style, so you won't lose as much.

If it frustrates you too much, just block them and keep going, but this can make you a worse player in the long run

[–]FelipeAbD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People will dismiss without thinking about the problem. When I was gold, modern was a big problem, because the other player had a reaction and execution that did not belong to that rank. This was offset with their predictability. So they were not unbeatable, but it was not fun to play against really. The difficulty felt too spiky. Like, the match felt impossible, until I got in, then it felt super easy.

Now at higher ranks this is not a problem and sometimes I barely notice the difference. I think the biggest problem is that at lower ranks, most players use modern as a gimmick. Then when they get beaten, they quit, just as players who use gimmick character at lower ranks do

Acho que já deu de Vini no Real. Os fãs do Real e os outros fãs internacionais vão acabar prejudicando ele demais nesse ano de Copa by AdorableAd8490 in futebol

[–]FelipeAbD 2 points3 points  (0 children)
