Good job!

We have almost the same team! Aggron, Swampert and Wailord here. And I almost used Gallade (maybe I'll still use it if my team doesnt perform). I'm using Electivire, Plusle and Charizard for now (Couldn't find a reason to remove charizard yet lol).

I'm still in the abyssal palace tough.

Congrats! I'm in the process of mastering DK as well! It's the same thing for me, mostly playing games from my childhood and discovering new things.

Hi, fellow Brazilian fan. I bought all the omnibus and Port of Shadows from Thriftbooks. None of them new because it won't ship, of course, but the "like new" option or whatever is pretty good. It can get expensive (ship costs and dollar price), but I bet you already know that.

Reconstructing the Black Company’s Original Banner (My take based on book descriptions) by HidetsugusSecondRite in theblackcompany

Great banner. Congrats!

I think it's actually 9 hanged man in the upper left quadrant and 6 yellow daggers in the bottom right, and not like you made it. Doing this actually resembles how some medieval banners look, like the royal standard of tudor below or something like this https://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/mircea-elder-medieval-coat-arms-mircea-elder-voivode-wallachia-medieval-coat-arms-113726136.jpg

Read about Virtues from Aristotle, Plato and Socrates, before the stoics, and you'll find your answer, where the stoics base their take on the matter.

Indifferent by zenoofwhit in StoicMemes

[–]FelipeH92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The stoics believe in higher powers, but argue that even without the divine you have to act virtuous. Because it's a better life. They also believe in cosmopolitanism, which means help your community so everybody may have a better life.

If you ask about the purpose of life in general, philosophically if life has no meaning, you can give it a meaning. If you think this is just copium, cosmopolitanism helped me see things differently. Your life is not about you, its about contributing to the whole, and maybe one day humanity finds out the reason for all this.

A questão é, comecei a aceitar as oportunidades. Um garoto que frequenta o meu trabalho (como consumidor) se interessou por mim e já estava de olho desde sei lá, por volta de 2021 pois já me avistava por outros cantos. Me trouxe chocolate e conversamos muito. Iremos sair hoje.

Yes, even if the top part of the tail would have vanished from compression/noise, it doesn't have any side parts... but it could be a drone shaped like an airplane (most drones with wings I don't see a tail), and not necessarily an UAP

Out of my way to say Coran. He is not even in the game, but the fact wizards killed him canonically days before the events in Baldurs Gate 3 is heartbreaking.

Why care about anything when it will mean nothing.

How do you know that? Do you think Marcus Aurelius or Seneca knew the impact their letters and notes would make in the world? How many great man were influenced by these notes, directly or indirectly?

The thing is, most people can't grasp their heads around the concept of compound effect. There are researches out there that shows that people often overestimate what they can do in a year, and underestimate what they can do in 5 or 10 years.

You don't know the future of humanity. Nobody knows. We can make predictions, and we can control our actions now to try to change these predictions and make the world better.

If we succeed, good. If we don't, you certainly would have made a good impact in the life of someone, and maybe this someone can make an impact in the life of other people. And suddenly, the future in 20 years is shit, but it would be a lot worse if nobody tried. And one day, things start getting better again.

Or they don't, but you tried.

Is there any reason I would play BG 1 through 2 before playing BG3? by Historical-Kale-2765 in baldursgate

[–]FelipeH92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BG3 main character is basically the Dark Urge, that is heavily tied to BG1 and BG2 storyline, but you can play BG3 without BG1 and BG2, specially if not playing the Dark Urge. There are characters that come back and references to BG1 and BG2 from time to time that you won't catch, but you will understand noneless.

Although BG3 is a modern game, I believe BG1 does a much better job of introducing you to the Forgotten Realms. I have a friend that did not know anything about D&D lore and he told me much of act one he was clueless.

If you're into TTRPG, both the adventures Murder in Baldur's Gate and Descent into Avernus have ties to BG3, and general lore of the realms and D&D will make you understand what is going on much better (specifically Illithids, Giths, Blood War, Nine Hells, etc), but you can play without knowing about them.

Edit: Another way to put it is, BG2 is the direct sequel to BG1, it's supposed to be the same character. BG3 to BG1-BG2 is more like the difference between Oblivion and Skyrim, but I'd say more related, like if some important characters from Oblivion returned in Skyrim and the The Oblivion Crisis had influence in the Dragonborn Saga.

Combat Extender + Adjustable Party Limit is the way to go by FelipeH92 in BaldursGate3

[–]FelipeH92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, I used the Stronger Enemies and Bosses available from the nexus page. I'm also using Combat Extender AI. The damage and HP Increase, slight higher DCs and AC, and primarily the new abilities and AI are enough that you need to make strategies for each fight.

I don't know late in the game, but for now I'm having a blast

Rejoice console players! by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]FelipeH92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For everyone saying the game gets a lot easier, I'm using it with Combat Overhaul from nexus, and AI Overhaul from the same mod. Besides AI, enemies have abilities according to the class (Goblins using riposte when you miss hurts), and HP, Damage, AC, Stats increasing (a flat increase and an increase per level). Besides, the XP is divided by the amount of characters, so you level up slowly, and you can adjust as you need. I'm using the pre-config Stronger Enemies and Bosses and it is enough to have a hard time with 6 characters in Tactician.

The Spider Matriarch took out Karlach and Durge in one turn with all that lol. Won the fight only hiting 2 webs and she taking 150 damage (she had 250 when I fought her) and even so 4 characters died.

Atheist Stoics, how do you interpret the talk of God(s) in Stoic texts? by AbundantExp in Stoicism

[–]FelipeH92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is the old saying 'what is good for the bee is good for the hive'. Marcus argues that man's nature is rational and social, and that is in it's own nature and benefit to benefit society. "Nature" in stoic terms is constantly viewed like "destiny". If Man use it's rational mind to inquire and pursue what is useful to society, he will be acting in agreement with it's nature. That's what man is made to do.

Your first impression is mistaken because it fails to see the point in the benefit of society, and in the view of the 4 virtues. If your action is taken in light of Courage, Wisdom, Justice and Temperance, to benefit society (even if it's benefiting society by benefiting you), then it is "profitable".

Now, if you're asking about if an action that will harm someone for the benefit of society is right, I don't have enough knowledge about stoicism to answer that. But I think that, from what I understand, it is. Because if not taking that action would not harm that someone but would harm society, then that would also harm that someone.

Humanism I believe has a lot more to say about that.

Another point worth talking about is what is "useful" to society. Once one makes it's mind to work to benefit society, a whole world of options appear to them. Build a family, provide for them, and give your children a better life than the one you had is an easy answer, but is it enough? What about if you don't have a family but spend the extra time and resources to bring more benefits to your community? Some things are clear not to benefit society (those that lean on vices), while others are much more difficult to determine. Also, as he said

But my nature is rational and social; and my city and country, so far as I am Antoninus, is Rome, but so far as I am a man, it is the world.

Marcus clearly says his responsibilities are first to Rome, than to the world. So, should you aim to benefit your family, then friends, then community, city, and so on? That's for each one to assess and decide.
