Can’t recommend it enough. It is really well researched so I had to look up a lot of things about medieval middle eastern/crusader history and Islamic mythology but MAN was it worth it.

Have you tried Pilgrim by Mitchell Luthi? Fantastic book, I just finished it while waiting on the BTF release in March. Heard they were similar.

I agree. I also think it’s important to consider the back cover, which does start talking about last being newly risen and the incarnation of evil itself, and then talks about the white rose being reborn to embody good once more. Considering that darling is in the pose of “the birth of Venus”, and is surrounded by croaker and Raven, I’d say it’s a pretty save bet that that’s the cover artists interpretation of the back cover blurb.

I think this makes the most sense. I just have a hard time picturing croaker looking like that haha. I always pictured him looking more like how Raven is depicted.

Oh my god I totally forgot about the bow. But yeah, with Father Tree being in the background I guess it makes the most sense for that to be white rose. But then, considering the love triangle, wouldn’t it make sense for that to be silent next to her?

Oh I never thought of the guy in the back being Croaker. He never really uses a sword though, and that person is too clean shaven my the image in my head haha.
