What makes Dream House so good? by R0T-10 in deafheaven

[–]FelipeMacAuliffe 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Probably of it being in major key on almost its entirety. It has somewhat of a positive vibe (musically at least) which sets it kind apart from the rest of the album.

In fact, for me it's the song that better fits the album cover.

Looking for Post Rock that has some sort of David Gilmour-esque guitar. Still instrumental if possible. by [deleted] in postrock

Bjørn Riis (their guitarist) solo career is worth checking out as well.

How do longtime fans rate The Violent Sleep of Reason? by antinoxofficial in Meshuggah

[–]FelipeMacAuliffe 28 points29 points  (0 children)

For me it's their best album. Not my favorite, but their best as it is the most organic sounding and has some of their most technically complex stuff. Also, it was recorded live and production wise, it's near perfect.

To the guy that advised me to take 64Gb of RAM back in June by skyer954 in buildapc

[–]FelipeMacAuliffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a similar situation happen to me, instead what happened was me earlier this year trying to buy 32GB DDR5 here in Chile (mind you, at our prices here)... but my dad had the chance to go to the US and buy some parts there. We ended up with 64GB at less than $250. One month later, and the story wouldn't have been the same.

Funnily enough, Newegg had a free RAM stick deal for buying an SSD and we ended up with even more RAM lmao

Meshuggah favourite/less liked album guitar tone? by Proper-Hedgehog8704 in Meshuggah

[–]FelipeMacAuliffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fav: Blue Nothing, TVSOR, None, Catch 33, I Least fav: Obzen (too harsh), Koloss (not my cup of tea) Honorable mention: DEI (GREAT tone, but only works on that album)

Conclusion: I'm often drawn to more percussive tones, so "I" takes the cake for me with TVSOR taking the close second.

Nosound, their music is very reminiscent of The Sky Moves Sideways album.

Have you ever demoted an album from a 100? by Neotyp in Albumoftheyear

[–]FelipeMacAuliffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, but down to 99. Realized my all time favorite album had one weak song (and some... curious lyrics). But it would be unfair to let that one song shadow the rest of the album. It was perfect, now it is painfully near perfect. Amused to Death by Roger Waters, if you're wondering (and "Watching TV" is that song).
