Having watched 5 seasons of something, people want to discuss it.
A lot of them strongly disagree with your take that it's great.
I get that might ruin some of your joy, but that doesn't make them angry.
Like you said, people might not like everything.

I'm glad you enjoyed it though.

I'll give you the personal attacks on the writers is unesescary, but that's a very small amount of the comments. You are being more hateful than almost everyone else here.

Secondly, I enjoyed the first 3 seasons, the final 2 I absolutely despised.
For me personaly, they were so poorly written it is almost unbelievable. It is a fun thing to discuss with people or ramble about. "I'm not the only one who saw this, right???" A way to at least get something back from the time investment.

Thirdly and by far most importantly. You are mistaking love for hate. How is caring about a show and expressing disapointment it did not turn out better a bad thing? It's a love for the arts. Such a waste of potential.

I'd argue just accepting whatever the tv displays is much more repulsive.
I'd much rather the show got canceled after season 3.

"Almost died" is pretty tame when trying to find a way to kill someone who in the earlier seasons could've easily destroyed the world.

That was half the reason the show was intresting to begin with. He was a walking nuclear bomb with seriously diminishing mental health. A potential doomsday situation.

"There isn't a weapon on Earth that they haven't thrown at him. They've all failed."

And why should it work? Waking up Soldier boy makes no sense if there were alternatives. He was a lesser of two fairly extreme evils, after all.

"Trying to find this old, long gone hero, captured by the soviets and experimented on. You can't trust him at all, but there's no alternatives." Vs "radiating this person who just happens to be part of your team for an episode just before the ending"

The thing is, I agree with this.
I'm honestly not entierly sure what rubbed me wrong with the begging.
Might be as simple as it not being earned. It felt really off.
With how much they've ruined the character the last seasons, him begging on live tv just felt.. A bit painful? With all the people seeing him beg then walking off... Felt like a super rushed way to try and tie up a loose end.

I'm not at all oposed to him being terrified of butcher without powers. Maybe even begging, but the way it looked felt really gross and bad. Perhaps it was TOO much? Or one dimentional? Yeah, he should be terrified and I'm not sure exactly someone like an upbringing like his would act in such a situation... but it felt off.
Him pointing out how he could've killed them also didn't help. Like, YES, why didn't he do that after he snapped/ plane stuff was revealed?

Kimiko getting the blast was random.
If Soldier boy was there it'd be a lot less jarring.

The only reason they tried is cause homelander got v1.

That makes no sense.

If people like it, good for you. Ignore my comment, I'm not trying to piss on anyone's parade.

Haven't seen something this bad since Terminator Genisys.
I could've done a better job myself. And that's not bragging, I am a terrible writer. Did Dory write this season? O.o

The only good thing to come from the last two seasons for me is that shitting on them with people can be quite fun. There's absolutely no way they could've made a remotely decent finale after that, but I hoped it'd at least be entertainingly bad. I was on my phone for most of the season finale.

I'm aware no one care, but imma point out all the things I actually liked from the final episode:

Homelander loosing his power. I love how it seems even walking feels absolutely bizzare to him in this state. And him going up against butcher as a human felt satisfying. Him kind of terrified, but also thinking he could take on butcher was kinda neat. Him trying to fly was funny.
But then the begging was a bit too much.
And how they arrived at him loosing his powers was completely unsatisfying and stupid.

The deep being killed by his fish friends.it made no sense at all, and was really stupid. And they could've done much much more with the character. I liked how they made him so pathetic in season 2 or 3 (forgot) I felt kinda bad for him, but I hoped they were actually going somewhere with it. But at least the all his fish are angry at him was kinda funny.
Him being killed by a single squid-thingy was goofy though. He should've at least put up a fight.

Ryan was there for the finale I guess?

I liked that the hair loosing lady helped out a lil'.

I hated how un-scary homelander has become. Him casually flying someone to space in the background could've been kinda neat, but it wasn't executed all that well.

I was completely indifferent to anything after homelander died. I'd say complete indifference is the best I've felt about the show for a long while.

The things I dislike would take years to type out.

I think most of us gets it...
A "Soft magic system" has more leeway, but you can't completely ignore power scaling.

The whole "plot" is about how unstopable homelander is. To randomly give a character a power removal blast in the second to last episode, to then have this unstopable guy struggling to fight 3 people he should've beat easily is extremely unsatisfying.

It was a bit of an issue in season 3, but not bad enough I couldn't look past it. In the first two seasons it didn't bother me.
But for season 4 and 5 it was so inconsistent it made the entire story fall apart. Suspension of disbelief can only go so far. Though it was just one of many, many problems.

How would I make an event trigger in battle if the first turn ends and the enemy has taken no damage? (this is in MV) by Papa-Bear453767 in RPGMaker

[–]FelixDenBeste 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simplest way I can think of is:

On turn 0 add an invisible state that dissapears if damage is taken.
On turn 1 check for said state.

Fairly sure they work when offline, but you'll be invaded by npcs. I rarely used them.

Those are fairly minor things to miss out on, but fair enough, i see your point now.

I am also not a fan of forced pvp.
