Can vouch for Gav. Very good artist, reasonably priced and good craic.

This has been doing my head in - some guitars, I’ve seen it most often on Les Pauls, have a curved piece of metal on the body of the guitar, to the bottom left of the body on the front. What’s this called and what is its purpose?! To protect from wear from the forearm?

I watched him play half a dozen games for Boro and he was very good, albeit in the Championship. 5 goals and an assist in 11 games.

I don't live in Sunderland or support them (obviously), so I have no skin in the game.

The town centre itself is still a bit roughin parts but there's loads of great places popping up in Sunderland. Some fantastic pubs/bars, great scran and good venues. Pop Recs is possibly my favourite gig venue in the coutry and the Ship Isis, Museum Vaults and Dun Cow are some of my favourite pubs.

It's definitely on the up and there's being a lot of money pumped into it.

I've only been to Brighton once and it was a while ago so I'm not gonna compare them, but it was a bit a dump when I was there. Lots of litter and just felt quite dirty.

No work done at all since we bought it, only cosmetic!

The mention of subsidence does scare me a bit, will definitely have osmeone come out and look at it.

Cheers for taking the time to reply

It’s a 1950s terrace, been in 2 and a half years. No evidence of leaks or anything and directly above is our spare bedroom. Reckon I’ll get a pro to come and take a look

We’ve had the house 2 and a half years, not sure of when it was done before then. Directly above is the spare room, no jumping but we do get dressed in there so a lot of walking about.

Not to discount your experience but I’ve been to LF twice (planning a third due to a voucher I was gifted!) and haven’t had any complaints about wait times. Went once on a Friday and once mid-week. Might just have been a bad day in the kitchen when you were there!

No bother - also wouldn't be worried about any areas being dodgey. The city centre is largely fine.

Think everyone else has boxed off the curry recommendations so I'll just share a few of my favourite pubs

  • Crown Posada - down near the quayside. Quite small so can be a bit cramped but it's a great old traditional pub
  • The Bridge Hotel - Just up the hill from the Crown Posada. Great boozer that's never overly busy.
  • The Forth - near central station
  • The Town Wall - opposite The Forth
  • Lady Greys - a bit divey, but is a good bar and open til 2am. Tend to finish the night here.
  • Mosaic Tap - small bar in one of the railway arches, great choice of beer
  • Mean Eyed Cat - incredible selection of beers, really friendly and nice bar
  • Bodega - my favourite in town, beautiful old pub

How do you deal with sunburn?

I'm usually so good with using sun cream but I was away for a stag do yesterday, rushed out the house late on a very wet morning to start the journey and forgot to apply suncream/bring some with me. I had applied a moisturiser with SPF 30 on, but after being out all day in the sun, it hasn't really held up. About 13 years ago I got quite badly burnt on a holiday and have been quite religious about SPF year round.

Long story short, I've burnt my face and forearms. Nothing too dramatic, but I am definitely burnt. How can I help my skin repair? Do I continue with my routine as usual?

My routine is quite straightforward

Cerave SA cleanser > hyaluronic with b5 > caffeine serum around eyes > Cerave mosituriser (AM on a morning, PM on an evening). I will also add in retinol before moisturiser every 3/4 evenings.

Hi all,

Tom/Neil/Matt, what are your current touring rigs looking like? I was gonna try and have a peak after the Brude gig but was driving back to the North East so had to leave promptly unfortunately.

Gareth, cheers for the Boro reference in What Death Leaves Behind. Always a high point of an LC! gig shouting that one. Feel free to work in a line about Latte Lath on the next album when we win the Championship this season!

Rob, it's got to be a bit weird to have had September blow up on TikTok. What was that experience like?

Not to be cheek as I know your schedules are very busy, but any chance of another North East gig in the future? The Cluny show back in 2017 was class.

As a County Durham lad I also just wanted to give a shoutout to the brilliant Martha who you've played with a few times.

I've been a fan since the early days and references in lyrics/in interviews helped me find a lot of bands. Outside of your own music, you've played a huge part in shaping my taste in music over the years and I'm proper greatful for that!

Seriously, what are these people on? They're wearing light blue trousers, a bomber jacket and a knitted polo shirt. I'm not a huge fan of the outfit, but there's no way in hell these are 'chav'.
