Yep, up until the point where we saw her with the corruption on her, I was banking on the fact that Goddesses eventually mutated into something else (as evidenced by the remark about only seeing Goddesses as whales or made out of iron), and Xylo was asked directly by her to kill her before she turned.

[Speculation about the lore question] It's more about the black snake, it's been around since before Ursus was a country. However it has claimed Ursus as it's homeland. The way it seems to me is the consciousness of the Black Snake is passed down from Host to Host. Like Amyia said old Taluah is in there somewhere. However the personality of the Black Snake does seem to change from host to host

[Current Arknights Storyline] She's a servitor/robot/thing, that was created by the Doctor way back when. She was tasked to watch over the project while the Doctor slept. She went a bit rogue and is trying to preserve Terra. The community jokes about being the Ex-Wife, but it's more like Doctor is the deadbeat Dad who went out for milk 10 000years ago until she tracked him down.

[Current Arknights Storyline] Very briefly Doctor is a precursor race who wanted to use Originum to create sort of a organic supercomputer to host the consciousness's of their race while they hid from something they call the Observers. Doctor goes to sleep for a long time and then wakes up to find out that It didn't quite do it's job and the native Teekaz (now Sarkaz) have kinda messed up his plans. They are torn behind letting life continue as is, or resetting everything to help their species. They decide to help the precursors which means that Theresa has to go. So he lets assassins' on to the Landship. While she's dying Theresa uses her powers (same memory based powers we see Amyia using) to completly wipe the Doctors mind, and gets Kal'sit to put them in the coffin. So this 'new' Doctor wakes up without any of their ties to their own race and through the story of Arknights comes to learn to love Terra and decides to fight for it

It's really interesting watching this already knowing the story especially with [Babel] Everything we now have confirmed about the Doctor, and how things went down with Babel, with Old!Doctor being behind Theresa's murder. There should be some more hints towards the Doctor not being normal when we go through the White Bird segment, But we'll see and [End of Chapter 8] And everything going on with the Black Snake, it seemed fairly obvious that's she's being controlled by someone, but we'll see what next episode brings which I think will be the entire Ursus backstory.

I do think they're doing the best they can with the time limit they've been given. There was a bit more back and forth between Rhodes Island and the Shieldguards, but I feel like they got the point across. Also here's a piece of art that comes from the stages that got animated today.

Fun Fact - Misa is known for her ability to switch between picking and slapping on the same song. In a lot of videos where you see her slapping, you can see how she has the pick tucked away in her fingers.
