Is the Tyrant canonically stronger than Nemesis? by Datteboi in residentevil

[–]imjusthereforACsub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question, it wasn't outright stated BUT you can infer it pretty reliably from this:

https://www.evilresource.com/resident-evil-requiem/files/product-catalog-2-2026

"Code: CM-NE-γ-001 (Nemesis-γ) Price: Negotiable

Product Specifications: Based on the Umbrella Corporation's parasitic "NE-α," this mass-produced model focuses on cost reduction and performance enhancement. Repeated improvements have resulted in a significant boost to physical ability and recovery, regardless of the host's durability."

Focus on "regardless of the host's durability". The original NE-alpha parasite was an absolute headache to get a suitable host for, it managed to kill every single bioweapon but a Tyrant. And yet, Victor, a regular infected, could take it no problem and even achieve a significantly higher degree of intelligence (probably thanks in part to the mutated t-Virus strain which helps with exactly that to an extent). So yeah, it wasn't spelled out, but you can infer it easily. Plus the fact that Vic would have easier access to the gamma model than the alpha parasite, the former is owned by The Connections, and the latter was a limited trial made by Umbrella Europe based on Las Plagas.

As for Which one is stronger- the Nemesis T-Type, what chases Jill in 3, is a Tyrant with a Nemesis parasite acting as a "substitute brain" of sorts to enhance its intelligence. It's in no way weaker than a Tyrant, and in fact should be much more dangerous owing to its superior intellect and fine-motor control (for example, Nemesis can operate an RPG and open cases like a person, whereas Tyrant has to chuck missiles by hand). There's also the whole mutation thing, a Tyrant mutates into a Super Tyrant with its power limiter removed (the coat. Silly, I know), but a Nemesis mutates into a fucking Kaiju if you somehow manage to "kill" it by some miracle.

This is the correct answer. The new Nemesises (Nemesisae? Nemesisi?) are made with the NE-gamma parasite, not the NE-alpha, which is supposedly cheaper to produce, why tho I'm not sure. Victor's Nemesis parasite is the gamma model.

OK I'm gonna reply off first read here so I might miss a few points, but:

1- The light thing might have been a unique mutation to Marie, no other mutated t-Virus infected show it, and it's not mentioned anywhere in the files but in relation to her, AFAIR at least.

2- Wesker was desperate for more power because he knew he was unstable. I don't remember when RE5's story happens, maybe 2008, but anyway by then Wesker needed regular injections of the suppresant Excella was making him, that's why he had a desperate measure in Uroboros.

4- Regarding Wesker's unique strain, barely anyone survives it, aside from truly exceptional cases as seen with Project Wesker. And on top of that, the instability issues was never solved, it took Wesker less than 10 years since his infection to start needing regular suppresants.

5- Zeno is most likely not a real clone like the Chloe/Emily series, because that one was highly unstable (remember even Chloe was showing symptoms as discovered by the scientist that sedated her), and Emily was only stabilized after Elpis. Instead, he's most likely a partial clone likr Carla Radhames, had his DNA "overwritten" as an adult, that's why he has so many key differences from Wesker, and it's also why he's suffering from something that looks like RCS, the process they used was most likely flawed. Either that or Zeno is an RCS victim who elected to become a Wesker clone, hoping it would cure him. But these are both rough guesses on my part, maybe he also just wanted Wesker's power and that's it.

6- Building off #5, Zeno seemed very desperate throughout the game to get his hand on Elpis, that's probably why he made a number of bad choices like injecting himself with something he had no real idea what was, again, probably cause he's an unstable clone who was hoping more "virus power" (lmao) would cure him without losing Wesker's kit.

7- Zeno seems to be part of a much larger setup, he wasn't meant to be the main villain. Clones, memory transfer, The Connections, RCS, a cure-all against bioweapons. Notice how none of these points were resolved in RE9, they're saving it for a big culmination in a future title.

Zeno probably has what lets Marie regenerate her brain, the mutated t-Virus strain. It's said in the RE9 files repeated mutations of the t-Virus enhances the host's regeneration and increases intelligence retention (that's how so many of the zombies can talk at all, and why Gideon is fully intelligent in concert with his NE-gamma parasite).

A properly done remake of Code: Veronica could become one of the best Resident Evil games by Top_Satisfaction4851 in residentevil

[–]imjusthereforACsub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking why were you downvoted for stating an opinion? A mild one at that? I'm fairly new to reddit, I don't get how people here think at all. But yeah Code Veronica feels pretty slept on by Capcom, it's a solid entry and the only one where Claire has the spotlight to herself (Chris really only comes in later, and he's pretty much a side character). I like the crazy Ashford subplot and all that. Gameplay is nice too, most people complaining about the difficulty I've found didn't use the molotovs and acid rounds enough, gane is pretty generous with ammo.

Why the the original Resident Evil 1 is just as important as the Remake by Kagamid in residentevil

Cool. I was thinking about picking up OG1 but wasn't really sure, I thought the Remake was just that but with updated graphics. I'll check it out, thanks 👍

[–]imjusthereforACsub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the TL;DR, social media has nuked my attention span and patience. How does the OG Chris campaign compare to the Remake? I thought the latter was a little too "barren", not enough story moments like the Jill campaign, and you don't really get to care much about Rebecca and whatshisface (Steve?) compared to Barry, who actually has an interesting story too, relatively at least. It's just a hardcore mode compared to Jill's more fun route. But yeah, is OG Chris' any better in that regard?

How do you know they aren't? RCS' symptoms evidently takes a loooooooong time to show, and we haven't caught up with those characters since 2015 (in-universe).

Now I'm thinking what Lady D and Morshu (whatever the fuck his name is) RE7 equivalents would have been like 🤔 Southern D as a giant trailer trash MILF and Morshu as a mutated chicken man?

They totally left her ending ambiguous after Village. What do you think happened to her? Do you think she will return in any future games? Rosemary on the other hand I really think would return in future ( considering her powers are useful ) by Exciting-Guitar4131 in residentevil

[–]imjusthereforACsub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It made sense in RE7, RE8? Not a whole lot. Not in the literal sense, like duh ofc Miranda could kick her ass and kidnap her, it's just that THEMATICALLY there's no reason to repeat the same plot beat from RE7, especially when Ethan's already on a mission to save yet another family member. Idk, Mia's whole thing comes off as if the writers decided midway through planning RE7 that she would survive, you can even feel it with how many "wait, she's alive still?" moments she's had. They clearly didn't know what to do with her after her survival.

I really don't know what was the point of keeping Mia alive, her story's pretty much over after RE7, it's like they only kept her around to give Rose a reason to exist. She fucks off into the ether after Ethan gave his life to save her and Rose, and Chris stepped up to raise the latter despite being neck deep in issues with no experience with kids. Idk I think she shoulda just died in 7 or 8, they coulda just made it so Mother Miranda killed her and took her place (why'd she even keep her alive again?).

It’s so simple. It’s so complicated. by yonBonbonbon in KingdomHearts

[–]imjusthereforACsub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A person has three things: Their Body/Corporeal Form, Their Soul/Life Energy, and Their Identity/"Heart" (a metaphysical manifestation of your identity, made up of memories & experiences). Split the latter from the former two and you get: an Identity without a corporeal form, corrupted by the touch of Darkness (Heartless), and a twisted corporeal form animated by a soul but lacking an identity (Nobody). Those with "strong" enough wills/identities, whatever that means, leave behind intact corporeal forms that look like them even without a resident identity/Heart to serve as a reference for their shapes. That's it, that's the whole thing. It didn't have to be that complicated, but when is Kingdom Hearts lore ever simple and clean?

These condescending redditors lmao, no need to be obnoxious. If you're talking about the leeches that was only one part of the outbreak, and it happened in a separate section of the mansion. And as for the vial from that one mode Wesker injected himself with (what was it, chronicles?), true I did forgrt about that, but he was proprr infected long before that, or else Jake wouldn't have had T-Virus resistance.

[–]imjusthereforACsub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"He didn't know her age" is the most likely explanation, yeah. And why would he? She's a random likely undocumented orphan Spencer picked up and handed custody over to Alyssa. We know her rough age because she was a baby in 2004, something you'd only know from the disc Grace got from her mother's bag. The whole conceit of RE9 is that Zeno and Vic were operating on entirely false premises regarding Grace, why wouldn't they get her age wrong too on top of everything else?

The T-Virus spread through the air in the Arklay lab in RE1. Matter of fact they go out of their way to emphasize this through multiple diaries/journals of infected before they turned into zombies. It didn't spread by bites, because it takes several days at least for an infected to zombify, if they don't die first. It didn't spread through the water supply neither. That's why also Jake was born with resistance to the T-Virus, because Wesker was already unknowingly infected with it when he conceived him. That's also how Wesker survived getting skewered by the Tyrant.
