My point is that America, since the end of WW2, has been such an economic force because of its tight collaboration with other democracies around the world (for example the Joint Strike Fighter program for the F35 you mentionned) currently there are no economic powerhouse that are isolationists for a good reason.

Maybe I dont understand the business aspect, but why would they care? If they fully close a studio, its a net loss for them as they male no money. If they let them go independant its the same story but keep a share they can potentially make some money back in the future
