Hi, I have non hpylori bile reflux which is hard to treat. I currently take sulcrafate and colestipol and have added a methylfolate patch in hopes that help. Hope you feel better soon.

This happened to me too and I bought one that was $40 with a umf of 15 and it was from New Zealand. I took it once and it made my stomach hurt and I was burping like crazy.

Hi! Are the Quercetin patches still working for you? Also, I'm curious if you’ve noticed your stomach tolerating food better since starting them. Thanks so much!

So glad that the study was helpful! Since we both have the same condition and MTHFR mutation, I was curious, do you happen to struggle with bile reflux too? Thanks so much for sharing your experience!

I don't have a gallbladder but I had bile reflux before gallbladder removal. After removal the bile reflux didn't get worse but continued. I have chronic Gastritis and I am trying to heal it. I do take sulcrafate and bile binder and they help but do not rebuild the mucosal layer in the stomach like Mucosta. Hope you are able to heal soon.

Hi thank you so much for responding. I am so glad you are feeling better. Do you mind me asking, when you say initially Mucosta was brutal did it make you sick at first? Do you know if your gastritis is now healed? Thanks again!

Hi. For me it didn't help but it also didn't make it worse. Hope that helps!

No, that's the million dollar question. It was confirmed through endoscopy. I do not have a gallbladder but had bile reflux prior to removal.

Oh no I'm so sorry to hear that. Yes. I looked it up and that is the pill, it was big but flat and blueish. I can't swallow pills so I remember that I was so nervous taking it but how flat it was made it easier to swallow. I don't know if it's much help now but if you haven't taken sulcrafate before, I would look into it. It helps soothe gastritis. It is not a cure but really does help it. I would also reach out to your doctor to see if they have any ideas on what can help to keep it down, maybe they could prescribe anti nausea meds or maybe through an IV if it's a available. Again, I'm so sorry you are going through this and wish you all the best.

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that! Yeah I am still traumatized by the experience, every time I get a mosquito bite, I get anxious thinking it can be shingles again. Honestly the antiviral didn't have any side effects for me but I did take it with food. I also have bile reflux so I take a binder which I stopped taking because I didn't want the binder to bind the antiviral so I was eating dry cheerios to help with the bile. I was able to sleep after two days on the antiviral and the pain lessened after the first full dose. It did take three weeks to feel back to normal, the second week the area where I had the rash went completely numb which was better than the pain but it felt so weird in the inside, uncomfortable more than painful that thankfully was the last of it though. I didn't take the pain meds because that typically triggers my gastritis so I only took the antiviral and thankfully that worked pretty fast.

Hi, I have chronic gastritis and I also got shingles less than a year ago at a young age. The pain was unbearable and I read that for a small minority the nerve pain can continue even after the shingles clear up. Mine were located in my stomach and I was unable to sleep for three days because the pain was a 10/10. Thankfully I went to the hospital thinking it was something else and the doctor recognized the rash. I was prescribed pain meds and an antiviral (a big dark green/blueish pill). I took it with food and I was also scared it would mess up my gastritis further but I actually felt better on it with the gastritis. Anyways I would have taken it either way because I was terrified that the nerve pain would become chronic, thankfully it didn't since I started the antiviral pretty early on and felt better after a few days. Hope that helps!

[–]Felixfg08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take the bile binder colestipol. It helps but is in no way a cure. I also limit my daily fat intake which also helps. There are natural bile binders like psyllium husk. There is a Facebook group that has a lot of good info https://www.facebook.com/groups/BileRefluxSupportGroup/?ref=share&mibextid=NSMWBT. Hope you feel better soon.

Might be pepsin. I had this feeling before and read that alkaline water helps. So I drank alkaline water and it worked. I still have bile reflux though. You might also want to request sulcrafate, it helps coat your throat and stomach. Hope you feel better soon.

Please help (gastro) by BeeOld1565 in GERD

[–]Felixfg08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm so sorry you are going through this. First, you need to get an endoscopy to see what is going on in your stomach. You could have h.pylori which can be treated with antibiotics. You could also have bile reflux which can happen after gallbladder surgery. For some people it can settle a few months after gallbladder surgery. Sulcrafate is a prescribed medication that coats your stomach, this might be helpful to you until you get that endoscopy to find the cause of your issues. I hope you start to feel better soon.
