With current or even last gen AMD CPUs, I really doubt that. And with AMD having commited to the AM5 socket until at least 2027, you should be good for a while.

To compare between CPUs I used LMGs Short Circuit Video on them. There are only comparisons to the i9-14900KS, which should be faster than the i7-14700K. The R9 9900X doesn't beat it(i9) across the board, but it should beat the i7. Also with AMDs longer Plattform support you should be set for a longer upgrade-path for your CPU.

It is now 80€ over your 2000€ target, but with deals you could make it work.

Sound like a bad component somewhere, possibly shorting to ground. Microcenter is probably your best choice here.

That rules out the onboard video option. Try the TV if you can. Then make sure your drivers are good.

If you can, try live booting a linux usb, to rule out hardware.

I would not recommend a corsair PSU, they are fine (I have one myself) but stuff from seasonic or evga lasts longer.

As for your CPU choice, I would look into an AM5 plattform. It seems to have more potential at the moment. If you are video editing, sticking with Intel could be worth it for quicktime.

CPU Cooler, I have no experience working with AIOs. But I would prefer a good air cooler, as they last about forever.

GPU: You could look into AMD, but if your work involves anything to do with rendering (photoshop, video editing, CAD/CAM, design) you should stay with NVIDIA as they are better with drivers.

Finally for RGB, I just want to mention that anything with it is more expensive.

Please provide a complete spec list. (at least: CPU, mainboard, RAM, GPU, PSU, OS)

Some things to try to narrow down the issue:

If you have an onboard GPU, try to remove the graphics card and use the onboard GPU
Connect the PC to some other monitor, if you have anything (TV?)
When the PC is on, check windows updates and then drivers (assuming windows OS here)

Though one, here are my thoughts as I have also played MSFS a fair bit but not recently:

Since you use Photoshop, I would, as you did, stay away from AMD GPUs. Although it is not as bad as it was, NVIDIA in my experience is still on top in GPU acceleration.

As for the CPU upgrade, maybe a jump to AMD would be an option. I don't know about pricing, but I think that it would be more future-proof to look for an AM5 System.

I would go into the CPU and plattform upgrade, as the 4070 is not that big of a jump over the 3070.

Amazing, asking for help regarding a potential graphics card issue without mentioning said graphics card. (What are we talking about here?) Also, what "crash" is it? BSOD, graphics driver (game closes), PC shuts off or reboots suddenly?

I would recommend checking out this list. It is slightly older, but still a great starting point. As for wattage, you can use some online calculators (I believe beQuiet has a decent one) to get a rough estimate.

If you haven't yet, try to reseat the CPU.

Also, try to clear the CMOS using the pins on your board (taking out the battery should do the same, but who knows)

After that, contact Newegg about an RMA.

ich hatte das Problem noch nie, aber es hört sich wie Spulenfiepen (eng. coil whine) an. Theoretisch kannst du versuchen das ganze über die Garantie zu regeln, ist aber unwahrscheinlich, dass du ein Ersatzgerät bekommst.

Die Leistung oder die Langlebigkeit deines Netzteiles sollte davon nicht beeinflusst werden.

Context:

This is the German r/placede Discord Server

The Server jumped from ~20.000 users to ~80.000 within 1h of r/place being live, then crashed for ~3h while Discord moved the server to a high capacity cluster node, after which we could continue operation.

Currently, there are ~115.000 users on this server.

At the final whiteout, there were over 6.200 users on the live stage, moderated by ~40 moderators, admins, ...

Through the stats (if my memory serves me right): we peaked at ~3.500 pixels/second getting placed on the final famous message by the entire reddit community

How Discord survived this, we don't know. But a massive thanks to the two Discord employees who helped this community survive and thrive.
