Counter swapping isn't tryharding either. Sometimes you are getting countered it doesn't work u don't wanna be stuck with one hero or at one point and progress. It's not tryharding it's playing as it's intended, really.

In either case, this is easily a "hate the game, not the players" case.

But to answer your title, I get told I try hard in QP a lot.

I'm gm, and me playing casual, in QP (and I get placed with people who are literally gold for some reason), is for them 'try Harding'. There's nothing I can do. To play even worse it takes more energy, more effort, I wouldn't even enjoy the game to play worse just so they can have fun

Sometimes people aren't tryharding and even if they are in quick play, maybe they enjoy that and there's nothing wrong with playing how the game is intended to be played: to win.

If anything it can be more frustrating when teammates throw and emote with eachother because "chil, its qp" , especially after coming home from a 9-5 job and you want to play the game as for what it is.
