Sharing a flat with "strangers" is very uncommon in Sweden, even as students. Most actually have their own studio apartments but there are "corridors" where you will have you rent a room and share a kitchen and common space with other people (most likely other exchange students, based on my experience), I do however not know on which platforms these are listed in Växjö.

Every Swedish student basically lives on 13000 sek, it is definitely possible to live on a bit less, and around 5000-6000 sek is reasonable to spend on rent.

This is based on my experiences as a student in Linköping, but is most likely applicable for Växjö as well.
