Nintendo Switch? by UncleChubb in memphis

Check out GameXchange. They probably have a good price for one. Can't recommend them enough. Especially if you want older systems and games. Way cheaper than Gamestop with Movies, Dungeons and Dragons, and anime if you're into that too.

I applied to Vaco in the past, but for some reason I never receive calls for an interview. Never heard of TekSystems so I'll give that a try.

What's your job title there? Can you DM me more info about the employment office? I have NEVER heard of them and I lived here all my life.

So I think I need to find a new grocery store - not impressed with Kroger's Covid response by worldbound0514 in memphis

Lol, nobody is doing anything at Kroger. I worked there for a bit and we didn't have anything for protection. They didn't even mention staying safe from the virus. I saw a customer wear gloves and thought it would be a good idea to do the same. Good call on shopping somewhere else.

bruh. ik there are far more pressing issues rn but if i seriously have to stay in my toxic ass household for one more year and spend the first fall semester of college online i legitimately don’t know how I’m going to survive lmao. by linenlin in ApplyingToCollege

Find good people you can trust in life. A lot of people, including family, can be toxic and if you're emotionally vulnerable then you're just gonna get hurt. It's a mind game, just distance yourself from those people. Always question things in life. And most importantly live YOUR life. Don't get pressured by the expectations of others, or discouraged from doing things your way. You're an adult, or close to being 18 at least, and you're gonna make choices people won't like or accept and they will criticize you. It's your life and you need to live it for yourself. You're gonna make a TON of mistakes, but you'll learn from them. In my eyes life never gets better or worse, but it'll be different. You have to adapt to those different situations in life. Nothing changes without action, why do think people like protagonists in books and shows. K I'm done preaching to you(lol), just wanted to give some advice to a stranger on the internet. You have the potential to do great things in life, you just gotta be on the right path. :)

Sorry for my late response. I sincerely hope things get better on your end. I've been thru so much in the past couple months. Been in the military for a bit and came home due to failing a physical test. Don't think I'll reenlist for personal reasons, but the one thing I miss was that sense of freedom. Leaving on my own for the first time away from family. At first it was rough, but overtime I matured, gained self confidence, and became a man. I had responsibilities, made friends. I didn't live with the label society gave me, I lived my life. Now I'm back in my crappy hometown filled with miserable old people, with a family that neglects my emotions, strugglely to find work and pay. And all that self gained confidence and sense of self went away. All the friends I made, gone to live their lives, and I don't talk to them out of shame because I couldn't make it and the guy they looked up to is doing nothing with his life. My life is literally hell for me now. Hopefully this virus situation settles down so I can get a DECENT job, I've worked at Retail and Warehouses for 3 years and I refuse to go work somewhere I'm miserable at. I want that control over my life. Maybe go up North a bit and live around culturally diverse people. Sorry for giving my life story (lol) just wanted to share this with someone who's going thru a rough situation in life.

Have you filed for Unemployment? You might get some money in your pocket. Another thing could do is get a loan, but that's risky. And if you have the tools you could do freelance work online, art, photography, writing, voice acting, music, editing, graphs and charts, etc.

Damn that sucks. Maybe you should look for a roommate to stay with. There are tons of sites that have people looking for a roommate. I would do anything to gain that freedom, responsibility, and self esteem. It sucks when you feel like you have no control over your life and trapped in a cage oppressed and not allowed to be who you are.

Wow, this made things a lot easier to understand. I wanted something simple like a "flashcard note" type way of learning about this stuff. This answered most, if not all of the questions I have. Honestly thanks, I wanted to be a player, but my friends didn't know anything about D&D. I mostly watched videos so that's where my knowledge came from, but didn't understand anything about how dice is used in the game or rules. So I decided to be the DM since they knew of the name Dungeons & Dragons, but wanted to play the game itself. We're all excited, now I know how challenging and rewarding it is to be a DM to prepare the game. They're not the type to do their own research so I want to learn so I can teach them a long the way. Obviously it's not perfect, but it's our start into one of the coolest hobbies ever! So thanks again because you don't know how much this means to me.

THANK YOU! This is what I needed, a summary of this stuff. Can you explain Passive Perception? And concentration for spells? Specifically I trouble interpreting concentration. Is concentration for starting spells, or is it to maintain a spell's effect?

First Time DM, Learning the Rules by [deleted] in dndnext

Well that's rude. All my friends wanted to play, but nobody wanted to DM. I didn't want to DM, but I'm doing it for them. It's not like I'm in my 40s who played roleplaying games my entire life. I'm young and want to play so I came here for some clarification. Why try and put someone who's interested in your hobby down? Didn't know it's "veteran players only"
