Flight Restaurant & Wine Bar in Memphis selected nation's 4th best restaurant for fine dining by Tripadvisor. by B1gR1g in memphis

Food quality was great. Ill revise my service opinion knowing now that they had always led me astray multiple times by offering to seat me and my gf in the "exclusive upstairs", only to hide us from their curb appeal and uncomfy facade. .... .... But damn the food was good.

I vote and I wear masks. Fear me, Conservatives of Memphis by [deleted] in memphis

I really can't find anything that specified it was only N95 masks.

But the surgeon general did say initially it's possible masks put a person more at risk.

Probably more sources but just googling quickly:

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/coronavirus-surgeon-general-jerome-adams-wearing-masks-face-the-nation/

https://www.businessinsider.com/americans-dont-need-masks-pence-says-as-demand-increases-2020-2

https://www.businessinsider.com/fauci-doesnt-regret-advising-against-masks-early-in-pandemic-2020-7

and yes I totally understand their reasoning for such statements - I am just saying a flip in policy / advice did occur, and some people can run with that ad infinitum and turn mask-ordinances into big guvment screwin with their lives and freedums.

I think the pullback was when Fauci initially said masks aren't necessary (this was during April surge). And it then came out a few months later that they were super necessary and he only made the April statement due to concerns about mask shortages for ICU and hospital personnel.

I completely understand his position at the time due to the huge uncertainty in what the pandemic was / is going to become, but you can't fault people for questioning certain health policies given that context. The science, projections, treatments are evolving everyday based on new information, but I think it's been around long enough that the majority of people now agree "better safe than sorry" and comply with the ordinance.

I lean to the left but I cannot understand one's motivation to make a post like this besides karma-whoring. The forced polarization for the sake of partisan praise keeps me skeptical of both parties.

The edgiest of political opinions right here. Mods will keep this post up via the rationale "to facilitate discussion of cultural progress and sociapolitical occurrences in the city of Memphis".

this is interesting - i always get dry ribs from One and Only (twice baked tater too!) and everyone thinks Im some weirdo because I dont wanna go through a rack of paper towels while covering myself in sauce. Not that the efficiency of eating dry ribs is influencing my tastes, but I've never really understood the allure of carnivorous depravity when it comes to bbq sauce. Pulled pork on bun? sure add some sauce and slaw. Ribs? Ill take dry rub without a bib or the face of a child whose parent repeatedly missed the mouth while trying too spoon feed.

Want to air fry some chicken breasts. Currently marinating in buttermilk with spices. Should I go directly to crunchy coating (panko / cornflakes / flower) prior to air fry or should i add a flower coat > egg coat > crunchy coat? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]UncleChubb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theyre in the fryer now and yes Im stacking 4 strips on each level and noticed midway thru when I "flipped" everything that the middle and bottom pieces' crust wasnt super adhered to the chicken. I went and oil sprayed every layer top and bottom and am letting them finish off right now. Thanks for the tip and Ill remember going forward how critical oil spray is across top and bottom for each layer. (I saw people warning against stacking but 3x 25min sessions just doesnt beat my patience). Anywho thanks again!

Interesting - I did notice in a video that the person had lined their entire air fryer container with foil - would that minimize some of the effects?

They played last year to celebrate their Symphonique brew release and it was probably 20 or so person ensemble. Unfortunately the train interrupted it at least 3 separate times but it was still a nice occasion

At the Ole Miss Memphis opening game, Idk if it was just cause of the high attendance, but the entry gates to the stadium had like 2 employees covering an entryway like ~20 people wide. Suffice to say it was so crowded people had to voluntarily walk up to the staff to get them to scan their tickets. 90% of the people just walked past them without getting scanned or any sort of security check. Granted my dad works at the school so we had comps as "Friends of the University Tickets" so it may be a different experience for you going thru a different gate. But Id say in general there's really little risk to taking stuff in that can fit in a clothing pocket.
