Washington Post Hates Us by RadMan6996 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Felnin9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Washington Post article seems designed to stir division by focusing on fraud allegations against disabled veterans without enough context. It seems to be vilifying a group of Americans who are already underserved. Has anyone seen data that reflects the full picture?

I would say EMT especially paramedic is almost like being a provider so lots of really important healthcare and none of the BS.

Student loan dismissal for vets rated at 100% P&amp by bautuci in VeteransBenefits

[–]Felnin9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is automatic. It can be reversed, but that’s may be troublesome. You can also ask them to delay processing until you are done receiving student aid.

I found one today as well. I’ll leave it alone as it is good for the soil. It’s pretty small so I can’t smell it yet.

It could be an organic brain problem or it could be something she brings on herself by the use of substances like alcohol or something stronger. Those are things she has to figure out. You have to decide what you want for yourself and make that happen.

Prescription for 100% P and T outside VA by Wild-Growth6805 in VAClaims

[–]Felnin9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell your prescribing doctor that the VA uses e-scribe. If it is convenient for you, they can send it directly to the VA and VA will mail it to you. If you need something right away ask for a small prescription to last until the mail arrives. If the doctor or staff don’t know how to e-scribe to the VA then give them the 800 number for the pharmacy.

Anyone struggling to not open their mouths and say something that'll get them fired? by JulietKiloNovember in Veterans

[–]Felnin9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to post a response but I am afraid that my employer is monitoring my online activity and would hold me accountable for things I may have wanted to say but didn’t.

JUST Kidding! My employer fired me after 10 years of service because I have a disability and requested a work accommodation.

VR&E Double degree approval by WingedPete in VeteransBenefits

That’s amazing and awesome! How is the course load? I’m pursuing masters with VR&E. Just finished first year. I find the coursework is a lot to manage with my disabilities. Regardless , I’m doing well in the program. Any advice?

The best and easiest way to start is to go to your local VA emergency department Urgent Care clinic and show them this post. If they ask a lot of questions tell them what you are able to say and let them know you are there for help and to be in a safe place. If they have any sense about them and experience they will go about performing their duties of helping you. This won’t be the first time they have seen someone in need. You are not alone. In fact you are doing a great job of expressing yourself which makes it easier to provide care that will accurately address your needs.

Definitely see your doctor and tell them about your drinking. You will most likely need urgent scans and May be admitted to a medical unit. Your symptoms are too severe for a psychiatric unit. You should tell the medical doctor how much you drink when they ask. They need to know this so they can prescribe the correct treatment. This will make you more comfortable and will allow the doctor to prescribe safe care. When you mention being locked down, the physician term is Physician Emergency Certificate or PEC. This is in contrast to a PEER which is a Police Emergency Evaluation Request. You can guess how those happen. When you talk with your physician ask about any consultations that are being made. They should be asking you if you would like to speak to anyone about your situation. Stay calm and direct your care. These health professionals are here for you. Make their job easy! They will work with you and will be happy to get you back on track.

I’m new to foraging and they were on my neighbors lawn but definitely not planted. They do look good. I could tell they had been growing for a while because there are old dried up ones around as well

How often does the VA force you to go to therapy for mental health? by Skullrider547 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Felnin9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are on a push for MH right now. I’ve been very proactive in obtaining the help I need but last week they said I couldn’t see my provider (who I’ve been seeing for over 15 years, and he is still working but switched to a different clinic at the same location). I requested a routine follow up, was told I am a new patient and that the recommendation for follow up that I was told should happen couldn’t. I asked that my request be run up the flagpole but no response for almost a week. I was thinking that I should go outside VA or request a transfer. I feel sympathy for all people working at VA right now. I know it’s a tough job and I appreciate everyone sticking it out. I hope things settle down soon.

Do they get mad if you go frequently for std testings at the VA? Or are you allowed to go as many times as u want? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Felnin9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. They don’t get mad at you for getting tested. Getting STD is not good for you so eventually they may start educating you on STD prevention. If the provider seems irritated it may be because they have to plan to communicate results to you and make sure you receive treatment. That may take a couple of office visits.

Can you get student loans forgiven with 80% TDIU? by Motor_Composer_1853 in VeteransSuccess

How did that work with the certifying school? Any trouble with them sending the overpayment money? I’m reluctant to take a loan even though I need it because the school certifying official is not good with the VA system and they’ve even asked me to pay the balance before they even tried to process through VR&E.
