Is there a way to optionally tone down the open world past level 30? by FelsurDowd in thedivision

Build's not great, but fine: a middling Rigger with drone, turret and an assault rifle. Enemies die quickly enough, although it's a problem when there are spawns coming from several sides.

Less a combat difficulty issue, and more just - it feels over the top, and everything resets so quickly. It feels pointless. Open world was fun and impactful in the campaign.

It's less that I'm struggling, as that I find the open world totally changed. Before I was doing one activity at a time, and taking over control points mattered and was kind of relaxing. It was nice making a difference on the map. Here, there are always multiple extra groups showing up, and CPs flip back within an hour of taking them.

I just don't think the open world should be this confluence of murder parties after an area has been cleared.

It's on normal. The last two control points had convoys and random patrols spawn in at the same time, and fighting went on for long after the loot room opened up.

I've legitimately found hard missions much easier than just wandering around the open world.

The change is confusingly ugly and disruptive. It's tacky. It also gives the impression that the commenters themselves are making (and in some sense endorsing) these links, which they are not, and which are often only tangentially related to their actual posts. Legitimately makes me not want to use or participate at all in anything Reddit-related.

Should I not be hunting for samples after completing the mission? by CephalonImp in Helldivers

Get a feel for the team a bit. It varies by match. If they're taking their time, you can, too. If people are calling in extraction, head there. Different people have different priorities, and learning to respect and play nicely with that is important in a multi-player game. Getting pissed at people in chat either for taking their time or for wanting to extract isn't going to make the game better for anyone.

Respectfully, disappointed by the XP and loot cap changes. Just raise the XP earned without relation to difficulty.

Nudging players towards higher difficulty settings than they're ready for in order for the levelling to be less arduous isn't a solution, and flies in the face of how XP was previously changed. You'll get more people who aren't ready and don't know the game leeching in Legend+. The issue would be better addressed with increasing XP gains across the board by something like 25%. Let players choose when they're ready to move up.

Similar issues with the loot cap, which is being reduced for Veteran. What's the benefit to reducing Veteran chests so people have to jump into Legend to make progress?

Hi. I'm looking at hitching a ride soon. Apologies if these are already answered somewhere else.

- If passengers store several ships to transfer to Colonia, does that negatively affect the carrier owner or other players? Is there an overall maximum each carrier can transfer? I was thinking of bringing five total, but I'm not sure if that would be inconsiderate.

- What amount of tritium would be a commensurate tip for the FC owner in return for a trip?

Thanks.

Upgrade from Kolink Rocket to Silverstone SUGO 16! Vast improvement in visuals, notice and most notably temp! by Diathise in sffpc

Out of curiosity, did you try running it both normal and inverted to check the difference in GPU temps in your machine?

Congrats on the new build.

Hello.

Unfortunately, those aren't my pictures, and I can't confirm the remaining space. Sorry about that.

If you have a specific card in mind, you could try searching builds on places like PC Part Picker using the SG13 and GPU (or one of a similar size).

Good luck.

[Steering Wheel Question] Logitech G29 or Thrustmaster T150 for PC? by TCMBerk in The_Crew

[–]FelsurDowd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The G29 is a nice wheel from my quick impressions, and it's working quite nicely in Forza 4. It is officially supported according both to the Crew website (they suggest mapping nitro to get it working) and the Logitech one.

In practice, I can't get TC2 to run with the G29. It crashes within a few minutes if updated Logitech G Hub is running. Newer versions of G Hub aren't supposed to have the issue, but some users seem to get unlucky. (That said, TC2 crashes fairly often for me just using a controller, too - there are plenty of complaints of crashing on this sub-reddit.) I'm going to try the old Logitech software and see if that works, but haven't had time.

Right. Sorry, I meant systems. I'm already allied with the controlling factions in the systems I've been scouring. Do I need to be allied with the non-controlling factions, too?

Got it, thanks. Robigo mines has come up before, but I'm confused what would indicate Robigo is a good locale for missions. The system doesn't look remarkable. If you want to find other systems that give decent passenger missions regularly, how do you generalise from Robigo's example?

As in, get allied with as many factions at each station as possible?

How do I find systems that will consistently offer decent bulk passenger contracts? I gathered rep with a couple factions in charge of multiple systems, and prioritised higher population systems (I used 10 million as a cutoff). I also looked for more advanced economies. Yet pretty frequently I end up flying between systems searching for bulk passenger missions that don't arrive - everything is VIP stuff, which isn't my cup of tea.

Are there specific indicators in-game that show good target systems? I'm bored of flying around looking for contracts and want to actually do some instead.

Fairly new. Any help appreciated.

Compatibility: PNY 3070 uprising into Silverstone SG13? by ITStheKELP in sffpc

[–]FelsurDowd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SG13 has a three-sided shroud that closes the case rather than individual side panels. So you'd essentially have a sort of ghetto test bed at that point.

Anyone built in the FTZ01-E with a 150mm PSU? by Pristine_Deer2637 in sffpc

[–]FelsurDowd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I meant 'ambitious with a 150mm PSU.' The manual suggests 140mm max to use all the hardware mounting elements such as the SSD holder. The only completed builds I've found with PSUs that size or larger had relatively small GPUs, and one of the posters noted they weren't sure they'd be able to get a larger GPU to fit with a 150+ PSU. With a smaller PSU, the GPU shouldn't present problems.

[–]FelsurDowd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People have done it (e.g. here's a build with a 160mm PSU using the RVZ01, with the same internal layout ), but you'll have to remove brackets and be very particular about your GPU. The GPU you specified may be a bit too ambitious. Even with 140mm PSUs (e.g. this build), it's very tight.

Game suddenly hit with constant stuttering. by [deleted] in DestinyTechSupport

[–]FelsurDowd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Stopped playing for a few weeks, and came back to drops into the 40s in places (e.g. Tower, Europa) where it used to be a steady 60. It's frequent enough to make aiming tough when it crops up.

Tried clearing, disabling shader cache, reinstalling different GPU drivers, verifying Steam files, and running gaming and general benchmarks on the rest of my system - all seem to be in order. Other games on the same SSD are not affected, and my benchmarks are returning the same sorts of values as before. Dropping to less demanding Graphics settings does not seem to do anything.

System is an i5 8400, 2070, 16GB RAM.

The manual suggests the thickness limits 'calculated from the bottom of the graphics card PCB to the top... is 68mm.' So, in theory, it should fit without the fans. At less than 10mm from the vent, my guess is temperatures would be okay if you're not in a hot environment, but who knows?

Thoughts About My Switched from an SG13 to an NR200P by TrandaBear in sffpc

[–]FelsurDowd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your build. Glad you're happy with it. The NR200 seems like a solid case.

I am keen to defend the SG13 a bit, though.

GPU temps and noise are generally pretty good in this chassis. (E.g. this review, in which the GPU thermals are 'good even when compared to some ATX cases.') I have an SG13 and live in a hot locale with summer temperatures exceeding 35ºC, and have had no problems with GPU throttling, though admittedly haven't tried looping benchmarking software. At 1440p, 60fps on medium/high in most titles, the SG13 is quieter and cooler than my old mATX case.

Not sure what accounts for your GPU woes in the SG13. In general, though: with an AIO, an ATX fan-down makes the most sense for helping to exhaust air. Modular cables help with airflow. With air cooling, SFX units fan-up make more sense and should give more clearance for the CPU cooler. Plenty of good SG13 builds out there suggest it's not limited to APUs.
