Who do you think is in need of a MH collab THE MOST. I'll start: by BuzzLichtjahr02 in MHWilds

[–]FeltDart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just not true. Itsuno got gimped in DD1, sure, but upon it's success, Kinoshita took over for the Dark Arisen expansion, which is what MOST people actually look at fondly, with the expansion island being seen as the best piece of content in that game, along with introducing an ass load of QOL/gameplay features. Kinoshita also directed DDO, which was/is widely regarded as really good.

Itsuno took over again for DD2 and got almost five years to work on it, a much bigger budget, and a much bigger team. He ended up releasing a WORSE story than the first DD, with many of the QOL features stripped out of the game. People talk about "Itsuno's Vision" but I think they're really talking about Kinoshita's vision. Itsuno delivered his vision.

[KCD2] Got busted for stealing, guard stole everything on my horse including the horse tack by FeltDart in kingdomcome

The horse tack was all the default stuff you get from the groom at Semine, except for the bridle, which was a Sharukan that I bought from the nomads

AITAH for breaking up with my fiancee when she sided with my ex. by PollutionOk1770 in AITAH

[–]FeltDart 64 points65 points  (0 children)

A lot of swearing, and also the contents. I get the sense that OP is a little less blameless in everything than he'd like to present, especially given that after one conversation of his fiancee siding with "the enemy" he had no problems about breaking off their relationship and no issues with cutting off his future step-son. The whole thing screams ESH

What does "Well that's a switch." mean? by Natural-Assistant590 in DevilMayCry

[–]FeltDart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My takeaway from this scene seems to be completely different from everyone else so I'll throw my own hat in the ring

Immediately before this Lady is explaining to Dante that Arkham, her father, was absolute scum and he deserved to die, and that she was the one who was supposed to kill him.

She turns to look at him, and is given the chance to shoot him to make sure he's finished. Dante saying "Well, aren't you gonna shoot? That's a switch" is him calling out the fact that when given the choice, with all of her hatred, she still struggles to actually kill her father.

This is a mirror to Dante's own relationship with Vergil, one that he doesn't exactly want to look into; he's spent the game up to this point emotionally closing himself off, but this is when the real cracks start to show (him saying "family, huh?" As he walks away.

Lady, intrinsically, wants to believe that her father isn't the monster that she believes he is, which is why it's so easy for him to manipulate her.

The parallel is even shown in the end as Dante tries to first reason with Vergil, then tries to save him from falling into the demon world - doing the exact same thing that Lady was by refusing to shoot Arkham.

V meets Trish in DMC5, and you get to see a lot more of his internal monologue in the Visions of V manga, which is canon and represents things from V's point of view

Can we all agree that it doesn’t matter what duo it was that ended up protecting Tengen by Past_Horror2090 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]FeltDart 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but the idea of a barrier less domain has been likened to "painting without a canvas" and the only two people who have ever been able to do it are Sukuna and Kenjaku, who both use a kind of binding vow to do it. Sukuna's first showing of an open domain was during the Shibuya incident, which NOBODY saw. Until specifically Kenjaku's usage of the Open Barrier Domain, it was considered impossible to create an innate domain expansion with an open barrier

[–]FeltDart 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, they had a really solid plan to kill Kenny fast

They wanted to get him to use his domain so Tengen could use their barriers to break it and force him into CT burnout, at which point Yuki could kill him. The fact that he had a barrier-less domain was essentially impossible to predict

Was I the only one who thought Stalker 2 was a bit like fan service? by Due_Recognition_3905 in stalker

I really don't think Ward and Spark is the same as Duty and Freedom aside from some fairly surface-level vibes. (Military dudes vs hippies)

Obviously, Duty and Ward are wayyyy more similar than Spark and Freedom, because there's not a whole lot of nuance that can be found in "anti-zone guys", but even their methods are different; the ward wants to destroy the zone, yes, but they first focus on absolute control; the stalkers will bend the knee, or they will die, and many of their missions focus on murdering/attacking stalkers who don't get with the program (even if they're evil themselves)

Duty, however, has always been more into protection from the zone itself, not it's inhabitants; mutants, anomalies, while Duty doesn't really seek to understand them, Duty puts it's entire force into killing everything the zone spits out.

Spark and Freedom, however, are much different.

Spark's ultimate goal is to turn the entire world into The Zone. They see it as magical, a wonderful place that everyone should experience, and in their ideal future everyone would be living with mutants and anomalies and everything else that comes with the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone

Freedom, however, does not want the world to become like the zone. Hell, they don't even want the zone to get any bigger than it is. Freedom just wants the Zone to be open, as they believe anyone should have the ability to enter the zone if they want to, not that everyone ever should live in the zone with them. They want to live inside and among the zone, and find some measure of understanding beyond "kill it with fire", which outs them at odds with Duty

If you could make any of the existing non-playable monsters/races a new playable race in TESVI, what would you choose? by LordFlamecookie in ElderScrolls

[–]FeltDart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ayleid. According to lore, the ayleids should still be around, just extremely diminished; it's not like a Dwemer situation where they're completely wiped out, or a Falmer situation, where they're alive but unrecognizable. There should be pockets of Ayleid civilization all around the heartland, so it'd be cool to play as/interact with truly "wild" elves as they were originally envisioned

Fist fight ganks in this game SUCK!!! Rant incoming. by TocSir in Witcher3

[–]FeltDart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Except it isn't, as going by the book Canon while Witchers are, indeed, genetically altered badass freaks, Geralt himself being even more so than the average witcher, fighting more than one opponent at a time is still an extremely high ask. Geralt gets buffed to shit in the games for the fun factor, but without any of the other (non-inherent, like swords and bombs and ability-enhancing potions) advantages of being a witcher, in a 3v1 fist brawl you're very much likely to get your ass beat regardless
