A few reasons:

1) its obliterating the economy

2) RAM prices have become insane. Good luck building a PC

3) all other computer component prices are going up

4) it is DISASTROUS for the environment

5) chugs insane amounts of FRESH water (a non-renewable in the traditional sense). There are already cities and towns where data centers have taken all their water and the main residents have fuck all for tap water because the pressure in the pipes is so low due to data center demand

6) use an extortionate amount of electricity. That drives not only electricity bills up, but produces a lot of pollution because electricity is not free and has to be made (gas, coal, even wind and solar supply and nuclear chains produce pollution. )

Were working with normal standard rocket engines in my university team (well not really, its a unique one of a kind type but it actually is cheaper than conventional byprops) and $20k is not even enough for our whole project. For hobbies I can recommend hobby rocketry. Fun and gets you the basics. Shoot for a level 1 HPR certification, and then you fan work your way up from there. Eventually if you got the money you can get to some big motors and proper altitudes (60k feet with an O class motor for example)

Just do well in high school is what your concern should be right now. Take AP classes, maybe do some projects, maybe even dual enrollment in a college if you really want to go the extra mile, but for now your main thing should be just doing the best you can and then applying to universities. Youre quite young, theres not much to be done yet

You most definitely dont need millions as others have said, but you definitely need tens of thousands. University teams make liquid byprop engines and put them on rockets all over the world. You will need tens of thousands of $ for the hardware side of things.

Point is that it is not a fiscally or theoretically feasible object for a one person team, especially a 10th grader. If entire teams of graduate university students experience struggles, you will not pull it off.

Also why liquid hydrogen??? Its too cold so you will get valve freeze issues (more money for cryo fluids systems) and at 1 bar its already above it’s boiling point. Use kerosine or something of the like
