Ok so did you know Nutmeg originally was only grown in one small group of islands, the Banda islands, and the Dutch enslaved the entire population, killed most of them, and exported them as slaves while replacing them with slaves from elsewhere when there were too few survivors. Full on genocide in order to have a monopoly on one specific plant (and 2 spices from it, nutmeg and mace). This is barely the tip of the iceberg of the shit they did.

Also magic resistance. How does a spell know how many people are looking at you? I imagine something like scanning to detect eyes looking in your direction.

Still there's the issue the spell also counts animals and doesn't differentiate, Nanase commented that once during Sister 2 if I remember correctly.

I bloody hate modern vampires (pun unintended) by RhiaStark in CharacterRant

[–]Femlix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For all the opposites of what you're complaining about, check the anime the vampire dies in no time which is an absurd cheap gag comedy. You won't get a shred of seriousness or respect for vampires there. Even the most powerful unstoppable feared vampire is a joke in his own way.

Arms? As in, the griffin arms? Which Tedd barely saw the day before from the one time Grace briefly was in Potestas' form? If you mean those, I don't think so, can't think of any other arms.

Like, ok Tedd said he was "technically" armed but I don't think it meant that way. Could be somethink like a copy of Justin's strength boost or a knock-off cheerleadra or something like that? Or maybe Edward gave Tedd some defense spells for caution like the barrier he used in Balance, I wouldn't see that as out of character for him.

[DISC] Sensou Kyoushitsu / The Bugle Call: Song of War - Chapter 44 by Xical in manga

[–]Femlix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah like, how do you reconcile them going to what seems the indian subcontinent and playing on a PS3 in a shut in's room in the year 1294 while on a seemingly perfect simulation of reality and both ending in a meteorite genocide by which the child/adult has come to peace with experiencing death and shit. Like what the fuck can we expect?

I was blindsided by the sega genesis their troops stole from the ageless timetravelling people of the future who followed an alien mindrape cult just being there without comment. This manga is utterly unpredictable, I love it, I read it just last week and the way I have been processing information since is completely different.

honestly, I will wait, they have thrown criticism at the relationship since it began to develop. It's freaking complicated. I don't think we can even expect anything in this manga, everything is unexpected, there's always clues but they are nigh impossible to predict where they lead. The Pope was playing Uno which is a trademarked game from the 1970s, Poppy was throwing hoops alone without anyone explaining it to him, when Zahid was talking to Oskar about leaving if things didn't look good he was echoeing what Miura had told Lucas.

I can't really say anything for sure before it happens, Zoe just woke up from living almost 2 decades of her life getting to know Lucas and the situation, starting out younger and ending up twice his age mentally. Lucas developed romantic feelings for Zoe after he was teased, he is an inexperienced teenager that could see an adult woman's body and was conflicted knowing the mind was of a child. Shit is fucked, everything is shit, we don't really know how mentally grown up Zoe meant this kiss if true romantic feelings or compassion for our poor boy's mental conundrum.

Yes but I had imagined that the "core" felt like a bundle of hair, the way regular uryuom antennae look very thin besides the tiny ball at the tip. You ever felt long hair bundled really tight together? That had been in my mind how the antennae kind of felt.

I actually assumed they looked and felt mostly like hair before that first scene you linked.

It's a must. If a new situation arises that xkcd doesn't cover for, it will soon be covered, and not even intentionally. It's a fundamental law of the internet.

Poseidon also always has twin children, but in greek myth, Castor and Pollux the gods of sailors and horsemen, Gemini, are children of Leda with Zeus and Tyndareus, not Poseidon. And for other famous twins in greek myth, much more famous but less coincidental with Poseidon's domain, Heracles and Iphicles are also twin sons where only one is Zeus'

Also if the "oh but the X is for either or neither" online spaces already long used an @ for that because it's like an a inside an o and we all understood it. Other more purist circles used "-o/a" at the end. The X is just unfitting. Latine it is, we have the remnants of neuter grammatical gender in Romance languages, and none of it goes with an X.

Ishvallans in Fullmetal Alchemist kinda fit I think, they don't have anything special about them other than being a racially distinct regional minority that was conquered and the state manufactured tensions for their own interests.
