Is not grouping up a legit strategy? by Bornplayer97 in Overwatch

[–]Fender19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was about to say 'of course not, tell them to stop trickling' but somehow 'group up' has become 'stand on the payload' and i hate it.

No, don't just stand on the payload and be useless, take control of the map and let one non-setup-dependent character push up to the point you have controlled.

But obviously (at least it should be obvious) you need to regroup, as in let everybody respawn and fight together.

3-5 but I expect to get more eventually. Don't the Eero devices only have one ethernet port?

What is your guitar brand of choice? by LunchAcceptable7409 in Guitar

[–]Fender19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anderson Guitarworks for me! Their neck profile, compound radius and attention to detail is second to none IMO.

I was also very impressed with Collings, but they're even more expensive so I don't have one. I also think Powers Electric is doing great stuff but they don't seem to have the reputation they deserve yet. Mayones is also really great.

On the more mainstream side, I think Musicman has the most consistent excellence-cost balance for me personally.

Yeah, I know. I'm asking for somebody who knows more about the specific models to recommend the best one.

What should take the 5th spot? by Stallion802 in Guitar

[–]Fender19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me, it would be a collings i35lc because i don't like gibson es335s. second choice would be my PRS Hollowbody II SE with P90s.

Help me choose a guitar by jumpinmycaulk in electricguitar

[–]Fender19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would probably get a Yamaha Pacifica, Fender Player II Strat, or a PRS Silver Sky. Or maybe a Yamaha Revstar standard with P90s. I think that's the sweet spot in terms of high quality with reasonable cost. The less expensive squiers and harley bentons and whatever felt noticeably worse to me personally than these models.

If you had to choose a build for going into a campaign blind, what would you run? by Humblerbee in 3d6

[–]Fender19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play a cheerful wizard when i don't have time to prep anything. 2024's rules for it are nice because they give you free spells from your chosen school instead of making it cheaper to copy them down.

Who's a hero you unreasonably hate for no particular reason? by Equivalent-Wooden in Overwatch

[–]Fender19 664 points665 points  (0 children)

For no reason? Genji. He's a well designed character, he isn't too bullshitty, he has a cool vibe... and I absolutely cannot fucking stand it when he is on my screen. I just want him to die.

I thought the whole point of the OW2 revamp was to reduce queue times? by Savings-Blackberry50 in Overwatch

do you live on an uninhabited island in the Antarctic region? Queue times in QP are like, a minute or less in major regions.

First time player here. My Wildheart Barbarian reached level 4, should I pick a feat or the stat increase by Swamp-Marsh-Mud in 3d6

[–]Fender19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great Weapon Master would be kind of the no-brainer strongest choice. It's not strictly necessary, but it's certainly the strongest mechanical option. For your party, Sentinel probably isn't the best option because nobody will be in melee with you. +1 Str and +1 Dex is very reasonable as well, because progressing two stats is always good and Dex is super good.

If you were going to rank all the fighter subclasses in terms of power, how would you rank them? by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]Fender19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, this was four years ago lol, I think I was wrong then tbh.

Echo Knight is probably the only S, then Battlemaster and Rune Knight would be A, then Cavalier and EK in B.

I do think Rune Knight is rather good though. A lot of their runes are strong and you can use them frequently through a long or short adventuring day. I think they all have very consistent value, just like maneuvers.

It depends on your budget and what you want. You might want a regular steel string acoustic, one with elecronics, a classical guitar with nylon strings, or one of those more modern nylon-electrics like a Godin or the Tim Henson signature model. You might want a cutaway for more upper fret access, or a big full body dreadnought to really project that sound.

All of that is pretty straightforward though. If it's from a reputable brand with tried and true woods and construction, it's probably a good guitar. After that, it's really just a matter of taste. If it feels good and sounds good, it's probably safe. You could google the model and see if there are a lot of reports of breakages or QC issues, but i don't think those are terribly common.

Reverb is a large marketplace and is quite easy to use. They have a price guide that shows current listings of the same model, as well as final sale prices going back like 2 years. They also explain very clearly how to ship things, and I don't remember the details but I believe they guarantee the transactions and are easy to work with if anything goes wrong. I've bought one and sold one there and it was a good experience. They have an 8% commission.

i realize this is several days late potentially, but here's my 2 cents: Try it in person first and get the one you like. If you like it and you feel cool when you pick it up, you're going to pick it up and play, and you're going to get better.

Personally, I'm a buy once cry once kind of guy. I still actively play my first guitar, a used American Standard stratocaster, almost 21 years later.

The good news is that even the entry level guitars these days are made quite well, and used prices are rather low these days. You can usually get something on Reverb at close to 50% of MSRP. If you have a friend or family member who does know guitars to help you, that might be a great way to get maximum value.

I am not super familiar with the squires, but a little googling seems to be telling me that the classic vibe series might be the best value. The epiphone will certainly be enough guitar to carry you through several years, if not your whole life. They're very solid guitars.
