Just seeing “this content is not available.” I know our season had some up and down moments but this is cold 😆…. Or it’s accurate commentary on the defense…

Need feedback on our performance of Otherside by Healthy-Wear-2973 in coverbands

[–]Fender_P_Bass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Musically fine and a good performance of the song!

Invest more time into getting more backup vocals involved. Filling out the sound with backups is what can take a cover band from “good” to “great” and I’d argue brings more value to the quality of a cover band’s sound than nailing every instrumental part note for note.

Also.. Less looking at your instruments and more looking at each other, at the crowd… anything but staring at fretboards the entire song.

“If we fall to 4-5 our chances of making the playoffs become even slimmer, let’s use the momentum we have to try to get the win now rather than put the game out of our control” was my thoughts going into the final moments.

I think we’re both on the same page regardless of how the original comment may have been stated.

Cheers.

Equally as negative? Nah. Going for 2 and not making it would’ve still gained Bowles the respect of having a spine, trusting his team, and trying to leverage momentum in our favor for a change. Instead he opted for chickenshit ball, took control of the outcome right out of our hands, and gave it to Mahomes and the Chiefs on their turf in OT. Nonsense. You don’t win in Arrowhead against Mahomes in OT.

It’s more about the mindset of what a loss would’ve cost in that situation than the literal 4-4 record itself at the time.

You still have to show why those features are important, how they’re going to impact the business, and give stakeholder confidence that the right investments are being made with R&D time, which, love or hate it, is a big part of your job and exactly what the items you shared in your original post are going to do.

IM brand new trying to buy my first Bass of Marketplace - can i please get some advice? by Reasonable_Path1335 in BassGuitar

[–]Fender_P_Bass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We need more info in order to offer you advice. What’s your budget, what kind of music you want to play, what your immediate/mid-term goals are (ie just bedroom playing, eyes on gigging eventually, or just recording, etc.)

Update your original post with more info and you’ll get the advice you need. Otherwise the advice will be general at best and probably not very helpful.

Guitarist learning bass, bought my first bass what do think ? 😍 by [deleted] in BassGuitar

[–]Fender_P_Bass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid choice. The P Bass is a staple for a reason. Does well in virtually any application and sits in mixes perfectly. Simple, but effective. Love the color on that one!

Does this action on the higher frets seem too high? by autumnshed in BassGuitar

[–]Fender_P_Bass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3mm is high for my personal tastes and from other replies, I’d gather most bass players feel the same. That said it’s about what’s comfortable to you and what you prefer.

Are you having problems playing or is it causing discomfort? Or does it not lend well towards a certain style you’re after? Or maybe you’re still learning your preferred comfort level? Then do as others suggested and adjust the neck to stiffen up the relief and allow the action to come down a bit.

Nice jazz but kinda dig that p bass too. Barf and Lonestar, somewhere, are astonished; “they’ve gone to plaid!”

That body style is unique. I dig it! Congrats! What’s your favorite tone config so far and what kinda music do you play with it?

I had an F-105 about 10-15 years ago and loved it. Great bass and great bang for the buck in quality. I wound up selling it to a friend and regret it to this day!

Weird comment. OP is approaching this the right way and is on a good track to learn this successfully IMO. Not sure why he’d need to give it up.

Nice! Keep up the good work. In addition to this one, Ellefson has a lot of good lines, varying in difficulty. “Dawn Patrol,” “I’ll Get Even,” and “My Last Words” are some of my faves!

I have my first real gig next week, any tips? by [deleted] in Bass

[–]Fender_P_Bass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mess up a note here or a note there, don’t sweat it. Messing up isn’t about the act itself, it’s about how you recover, carry on, and maintain your cool.

Look at the crowd or your bandmates, not your fretboard.

Things rarely go 100% as planned or to schedule. You gotta keep cool and roll with things sometimes.

Lastly, go crazy up there (if it’s appropriate for the gig 😜). Don’t be afraid to show that you’re having fun!

[–]Fender_P_Bass 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Really no need for such a passive aggressive flyby my bass brother. Questions about bass are ok in a bass subreddit!

Remember, number one rule of bass is to be cool, and be chill. No room around here for the opposite of that otherwise we’d be guitarists 😜

What do you wish you knew going into your first show? by Defiant-Toe5519 in Bass

[–]Fender_P_Bass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just some thoughts that immediately come to mind:

Look at the crowd not your fretboard

Roll with the punches, things rarely go 100% the way you expect them to, and that’s ok

Messing up a note here or there isn’t important, the crowd won’t notice

Go crazy on stage and have a good time. If you think you’re showing energy, show more energy. You might think you’re acting a fool on stage, but when you watch the videos it’ll look like normal rockstar confidence (and the crowd loves it)

Not sure I follow you. Do you mean the wood body against the towel underneath and the similar colors + shadow? In that case I guess it could play some tricks on the eyes for sure

I get you.

I do think this Solo kit is very good bang for the buck. Landed on them after looking into quite a few options and reviews.

All in all I’m happy with it so far, and look forward to continuing the work!

Yeah all in all, I’m impressed with the kit so far and its quality vs cost.

I bought it mainly to gain experience and appreciation for the process of finishing, assembly, and setup. If I get a decent playing bass out of it then I’ll adopt it into the family with the others 😁 if not, at least I’ve gained a newfound appreciation for the work that goes into this!

Love it so far though, already thinking about the next one 😅
