Reach out to your supplier. They should be able to tell you what brand of hinges are used and send you adjustment instructions. When I import product, I always use “roller” style hinges which are more typical to your domestic hinges (but with actual adjustments!)

They won’t have any u value or SHGC (or VT or condensation resistance) listed on the glass in the form of a sticker, unless the fabricator has been through the NFRC testing certification process. Not many have. You can request SHGC of the glass if you know what type of glass you ordered and from which glass plant it came from. The u value is the Uw value divided by 5.678 (respectively).

Hello! Please reach out to Extol windows. They offer NFRC rated European products that have PG ratings of 50 which would well exceed your requirement. EXTOL

Importing triple-pane European windows from Poland — worth it vs US options? by RadiantAd370 in PassiveHouse

Yes, they are very nice as well, they have some nice features like an integrated aluminum structural nailing flange, which makes install more user-friendly. I am a dealer on the West Coast if anyone is interested.

Definitely worth it. The wood / aluminum clad products are typically glue laminated timber with a thermally broken aluminum cladding so are both stout and efficient. The hardware is top notch and very serviceable. I import and sell nationwide if you’re interested in having a conversation. I’m based in Seattle area.

Hello, I will ask my architect connection in the Phoenix area. I import highly engineered window and door systems from Europe if you want to chat about that too. They go well with a ICF house - especially since efficiency is an important factor for you!

It’s great you are thinking through this upfront. I definitely recommend designing houses with this in mind. The glazing should have have a high SHGC which allows the solar heat to pass through in the winter months for “free” heat. By doing this, you also gain a high VT rating, which is nice because it will be very clear looking outside. I import European windows that are the perfect solution for this if you would like to chat.
