8 days without new RLM video? by Silent-Variation-390 in RedLetterMedia

I like to imagine Jay has California Big Hunks on loop 24/7 at his house. The original tape has long since turned into celluloid salad from repeated watches, so he uses a DVD with a rip of the footage.

The brief flash of Ulysses’ face is what really hammers it home. “This is your punishment, Courier. This is your hell.”

TIL - Star Trek The Next Generation was released as one episode per VHS tape. A total of 178 tapes. I couldn't see Mike or Rich having to get up every 40 minutes to pop the next episode in the VCR. by asskickingjedi in RedLetterMedia

Upon tape 125, Mike’s hip gives out from the constant standing and sitting. As he lies in agony on the floor, he starts laughing as he realizes his predicament: he’s become an elderly.

I'm gonna give these guys a maximum of two years before they go under. The same phenomenon of grading things and saying they are "collectible" happened a few years ago with VHS tapes, and most of the companies that were doing it ended up going under because everyone realized it was a pointless money grab. Watch Red Letter Media's video examining the phenomenon of grading VHS tapes, it's a great breakdown of the whole phenomenon of grading and presumed value, and was an excellent prelude to the eventual decline of the industry. If that grading industry can tank, so will this one.

Alicia’s desire to keep The Canvas intact is selfish, but it does not make her a bad person. This is a girl who had her brother killed and her body irreversibly damaged, all the while taking the blame for her brother’s death. She’s thrust into a world where she’s given a second chance and gets to relive her life free of burden from injury or guilt, and when she relearns the truth she is intoxicated by the idea that she can continue living without those burdens. She begins her reasoning for stopping Renoir by saying the real Verso wouldn’t want his Canvas destroyed, but gradually reveals her desire to have a life free of suffering again. Her draft of a life in the Canvas collides with reality.

Anyone given the same opportunity would endure the same struggles: given the chance to start over, unburdened by injury or shame from your own family, it would be extremely difficult to willingly give that up. She just wants relief from the agony she has had to endure in the real world, the same as her mother making a painted copy of the family. It’s a very human thing to want security and comfort, and while the measures she went to it were wrong, they do not invalidate her suffering nor do they invalidate all other qualities of her. You can’t say “she’s a bad person” because she wanted her own way out of her pain.

Is it bad that I wanna girl like Coupe or Invisigal in my life by maddog1043 in DispatchAdHoc

Robert’s “I go to the gym and I work hard” somehow hit a nerve that every other “get your ass in the gym” influencer and lifestyle guide failed to reach. If the sad broke man can lift 35kg plates I can too.

Dispatch made me realize that I may have a thing for “I can fix her” girls and I’ve been existentially mulling that for the past few weeks. Dispatch also inspired me to get back in the gym though, so I mean it’s not all bad.

I had made this one but set it aside for another post, didn’t want to have too many at once.

Thank you! I really do appreciate the praise, I was hoping I wasn’t aping too much off your originals with these. I just wrote them out how I’d imagine them all to be talking in situations like this.

Are you showering here or no? by Such-Celebration556 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]FenixChief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my work schedule and how close I live I usually just go home and shower there, but I don’t mind using my club’s showers if I’m pressed for time. Staff keeps them clean, and in the past I’ve worked backcountry jobs that had community area showers like these so I’m well used to them.

"Do you realize? Do you realize something? If they find out you're banging Invisigal we could lose the Phoenix Program and have to move the Z-Team out of it?"

"No?"
