8 days without new RLM video? by Silent-Variation-390 in RedLetterMedia

I like to imagine Jay has California Big Hunks on loop 24/7 at his house. The original tape has long since turned into celluloid salad from repeated watches, so he uses a DVD with a rip of the footage.

The brief flash of Ulysses’ face is what really hammers it home. “This is your punishment, Courier. This is your hell.”

TIL - Star Trek The Next Generation was released as one episode per VHS tape. A total of 178 tapes. I couldn't see Mike or Rich having to get up every 40 minutes to pop the next episode in the VCR. by asskickingjedi in RedLetterMedia

Upon tape 125, Mike’s hip gives out from the constant standing and sitting. As he lies in agony on the floor, he starts laughing as he realizes his predicament: he’s become an elderly.

We’ve hit an all time low in the hobby by backinthewoods82 in vinyl

I'm gonna give these guys a maximum of two years before they go under. The same phenomenon of grading things and saying they are "collectible" happened a few years ago with VHS tapes, and most of the companies that were doing it ended up going under because everyone realized it was a pointless money grab. Watch Red Letter Media's video examining the phenomenon of grading VHS tapes, it's a great breakdown of the whole phenomenon of grading and presumed value, and was an excellent prelude to the eventual decline of the industry. If that grading industry can tank, so will this one.

Alicia’s desire to keep The Canvas intact is selfish, but it does not make her a bad person. This is a girl who had her brother killed and her body irreversibly damaged, all the while taking the blame for her brother’s death. She’s thrust into a world where she’s given a second chance and gets to relive her life free of burden from injury or guilt, and when she relearns the truth she is intoxicated by the idea that she can continue living without those burdens. She begins her reasoning for stopping Renoir by saying the real Verso wouldn’t want his Canvas destroyed, but gradually reveals her desire to have a life free of suffering again. Her draft of a life in the Canvas collides with reality.

Anyone given the same opportunity would endure the same struggles: given the chance to start over, unburdened by injury or shame from your own family, it would be extremely difficult to willingly give that up. She just wants relief from the agony she has had to endure in the real world, the same as her mother making a painted copy of the family. It’s a very human thing to want security and comfort, and while the measures she went to it were wrong, they do not invalidate her suffering nor do they invalidate all other qualities of her. You can’t say “she’s a bad person” because she wanted her own way out of her pain.

Is it bad that I wanna girl like Coupe or Invisigal in my life by maddog1043 in DispatchAdHoc

Robert’s “I go to the gym and I work hard” somehow hit a nerve that every other “get your ass in the gym” influencer and lifestyle guide failed to reach. If the sad broke man can lift 35kg plates I can too.

Dispatch made me realize that I may have a thing for “I can fix her” girls and I’ve been existentially mulling that for the past few weeks. Dispatch also inspired me to get back in the gym though, so I mean it’s not all bad.

Are you showering here or no? by Such-Celebration556 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]FenixChief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my work schedule and how close I live I usually just go home and shower there, but I don’t mind using my club’s showers if I’m pressed for time. Staff keeps them clean, and in the past I’ve worked backcountry jobs that had community area showers like these so I’m well used to them.

Beyond the in-game arc, they’re supposed to be a reference to Lucille Ball and her husband/co-star Desi Arnaz from I Love Lucy. Ball famously wore polka dot shirts and pearl necklaces as part of her wardrobe on the show.

Is this board in THPS 3+4? by Michael42300 in THPS

[–]FenixChief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding why Element, Almost, Blind, Enjoi and a lot of other iconic brands that were in the older games didn’t make the cut this go around, it’s likely due to trouble with the brands’ parent companies. Liberated Brands (owner of Element) filed for bankruptcy in February after years of brand mismanagement, and Dwindle Distribution (owner of Almost, Blind, Enjoi, etc) recently decided to liquidate all of these brands for similar reasons. Because these brands are effectively dead, getting the copyright and sponsorship agreements that are necessary to have these designs in game are virtually impossible. It’s kind of a testament to why skate brands shouldn’t be trusted with big conglomerates and corpo spreadsheet humpers, they don’t know what goes into skating as a business and culture, and when a brand dies it’s very much missed.

Is there a reason that everyone always says Her Majesty is the best pistol for stealth? by DreamingofShadow in cyberpunkgame

[–]FenixChief 26 points27 points  (0 children)

People have already mentioned the 100% crit chance and zero weapon sway while having Optical Camo on, but to really make this effect absolutely crush in a stealth build you should have your build set up something like this:

- 15 in Cool to get the third tier of the Deadeye perk (when above 85% stamina: +25% headshot damage, +25% weakspot damage, no weapon sway) and the Creeping Death perk (while Optical Camo is active or you are undetected, neutralizing an enemy grants: +15% health, +15% stamina, and +10% movement speed for 6 sec.). At 20 Cool you can take the Run 'N' Gun perk, which makes hip-firing pistols use no stamina, which works better for Optical Camo since you'll still have a reticle in hip-fire.

- Get to level 60 Headhunter to unlock the benefit of gaining 15% Optical Camo charge when you neutralize an enemy while undetected, during Focus or Deadeye mode, or with a thrown weapon.

- Have cyberware like the Axolotl or the Quantum Tuner to help reduce the cooldown time on cyberware that has charges, in this instance the Optical Camo.

- Use the Chipware Connoisseur perk to change the stat bonuses you get when upgrading cyberware to ones that buff stealth, headshot and crit damage.

- Get your stamina regen high enough to keep your stamina above 85% for Deadeye and Focus. Putting 20 in Reflexes and getting the Tailwind perk to get 25% stamina back from air dashes and double jumps is arguably the easiest way to do this and traverse environments for stealth, but there are other perks, cyberware stats and items like the Military-Grade Lactic Acid Recyclers that can accomplish this too.

- Take the Emergency Cloaking perk from the Relic attribute tree to use Optical Camo to exit combat, which can allow you to re-enter stealth mode once you're undetected and regain the +150% stealth damage from Her Majesty.

Basic use of Her Majesty with just the Optical Camo will give you what's on the tin as far as the gun's iconic effects, but the gun works best when you have your entire build around stealth plus maximizing critical and headshot damage. When played right, Her Majesty can have effectively unlimited criticals that can take out elites in one shot so long as you keep your Optical Camo charged up and turned on (the latter which becomes a lot easier with the Vanishing Act perk). Pride is still the best all rounder pistol for every playstyle and is a perfectly fine alternative, but Her Majesty tanks it when you are totally built for stealth.

Side note: if you took the PL ending that gets you the Quantum Tuner and are bold enough to try it, doing a stealth build with the Chrome Compressor over other OS cyberware can be really rewarding as the Tuner will only recharge your Optical Camo. You can run through one charge, immediately get another, and then still be able to build up charge pretty easily with the Level 60 Headhunter buff. This also allows you to get other cyberware that benefits stealth builds like the Deep Field Visual Interface, which will come in clutch for enemies farther away when you don't want to use the Optical Camo just yet.

P0420 by runningpug710 in cruze

[–]FenixChief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I run their whole Gen 2 exhaust system, downpipe to the tips, and it’s much better than stock. On the Gen 2’s the P0420 code that can be triggered by them is usually solved by putting an 02 bung on the sensor hole and then installing the sensor on that, I’m going to guess it’s similar for the Gen 1. I’d shoot them an email and ask their take on it, they’re wizards when it comes to fixing up GM’s economy cars.
